Speaking of being a grammar nazi... I think my brain just died. D:

I'm a Grammar Nazi most of the time; however, I have a friend who happens to be worse that I am. One time she fixed some writing on a bathroom stall because it was grammatically incorrect. :]

Recently, I went through a ton of old stories that I'd written. Then, I corrected every single misspelled word. *shudders* I'm a horrid speller. Though, my grammar is pretty good.

I hate poor spelling!
It annoys me more than anything in the world.

My friends all laugh, because a couple of years ago I developed a habit of correcting everything they write. They all try to be really, really careful of their spelling around me and attempt to keep their work away from me but - and this is just blunt honesty, not boastfulness - I am undeniably the best writer of the six of us and so it doesn't work all that well. Our teachers seem to find it amusing that they often get up essays that have already been attacked by the red biro though. Well, green biro actually.

I do it in books too. If I find a mistake, the first thing I always do is run for a pencil to fix it. My friends don't let me borrow their books much anymore... Not after the incident with one friend's Granddad's copy of Silence of the Lambs...

As for grammar, I'm ashamed to say my use of commas is rather... abundant. Also, I tend to write exactly as I talk, so naturally my best friend in English is the humble apostrophe. I like poetry, where proper grammar doesn't apply much, and that has had some influence on me. I either go for really casual, simple language with not much care for conventional grammar, or else really formal language. As a result, I don't judge people too much on their use of grammar, although I will still correct my friends' grammar when they let me near their essays.

I'm destined to be a teacher, aren't I?

XD What's wrong with that? Teachers are important. Without teachers, there would be no one to keep the flood of chatspeak/netspeak at bay! :0 And then the human world would die from laziness.

My English teacher can't spell.

She has this whole "word of the day" thing going on, with words like "Salubrious, lethargic, and preempt" popping up, and she can't spell them at all! We always end up telling her how to spell it.

Its kinda pathetic.

But no, really, I wouldn't want to be a teacher. I don't think I could stand it, but for the holidays!

Yeah, some English teachers are like that. My sister's English teacher last summer--this is a college English teacher, too, so I'm assuming he has a PhD or at least a master's in English--spelled weird wrong (wierd) and didn't know the actual definition of narcissism (he said it was how you see yourself in the world). Pretty sad.

Remember:

I before E except after C...unless it's an ancient weird concierge!

My dad told me that one. He also forwarded me this article, based on a contest to write the longest sensible sentece(s) using only words that were exceptions to the common rule of "I before E"

You really have to pay attention to understand it...

In one of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling made the ultimate typo. Jk wrote Rubert Grints' name instead of Ron weaslys'. Is she forgetting the difference between her book and the movie?
Also, I must say that I may not have perfect spelling, but at least I cant get a actor and a character mixed up.

This is a very predominantly female guild. And I love it.

There used to be a few more guys. Maybe all the girls scared them away? XD

Okay, my grammar story:

It all started in a far away place in another time (cue the erie Twilight Zone music). I was reading a book that I had recieved from the librari. There was apparently a very confusing grammar mistake in which a person had writed: "Oh my god! Can't editors of books at least get something right!" Then the note on the inside of the library book proceeded to rant about this error for five more pages! It was hilarious! Or at leest I thunked it was.

Post Script (because P.S. is overrated) There are 4 errors. Find them. No find them, not later, NOW, FIND THEM NOW!!!!!!!!!

Maybe... okay, ya I did. I guess I should have evened it out a little. I'm not good at making errors. (Ha, *conceited* <----- That applies to the I before E thing!)
