Nintendo let me down. There was nothing for the hardcore gamers. I was very disappointed. Though I am excited about the Dead Rising port for Wii.

Stop echoing X-Play. Nintendo obviously has nothing to announce for hardcore games becuase they have nothing. They're busy tapping into the well of wealth known as casual gaming.

Meanwhile Microsoft is busting its a** to break into Japan, while Sony is finally seeing some action (though still being slapped around for having little exclusive games).

Since when has nintendo had hardcore games? Sure, on the competitive level a few titles can be "hardcore" but nintendo has never really released hardcore games (barring the beginning of vidya games when there was no casual gaming)

I'm thinking he's referring to normal, non-family games as "hardcore gaming," Mario/Zelda/Metroid/etc.

Nintendo only really excites me when they release a new Mario title.

How many times do I have to give the spiel about how Zelda games aren't hardcore and just require you to run around exploring a lot or use a strategy guide. =| silly nintendo kids.

The popularization of casual gaming has broadened the spectrum of the definition of hardcore. Hell, any RPG can be viewed as hardcore now.

Hardcore itself is a stupid generalization to start with anyways and should stick to things like music.

No, hardcore as a music genre also ends up failing.

So do progressive, alternative and indie.

Mmhmm.

This is the most back and forth I've seen in a while.

Pressing Submit rather than using AIM I'm guessing.

Ah. Well I don't mind back and forth conversations, until they die that is.

It looks like the guild is really active despite there's really only two people speaking to one another in three different threads.

I'm scared to post because there might be another post that explains everything next and it would make me look stupid.

Back and forth means bouncing ideas to me.
