She clenched her fists, "I'druther not," she muttered. "But it was in the contract." she walked away, hoping that the chef poisoned his food.

Travis sighed. "My parents always hire losers who they feel sorry for!" he laughed and then turned to the chef, who he moderately liked. "Except you chef. You make good food." he grinned.

The chef looked at him, then held up a wooden spoon. "Stop chasing away the help!" she grumbled. "I lost the last chit who I was teaching to chop the onions!"

Travis sighed. "But I dont like any of them. My parents dont even ask if I want a certain person hired, and I'm the one who has to spend the day around them really! They are never here. My parents suck." he grumbled. The chef was one of the few people he could consol in.

"Your parents are kind people to hire girls close to your age." the cook replied softly. "And if you wish to hire someone yourself, I'll try and talk to them. But until they come back, be nice!"

Travis sighed. "If you allow me to have ice cream for breakfast tommorow then I will try to be." he grinned, telling the truth.

"Fine, but I must see an improvement by tomorrow." she waggled the spoon at him and went back to work.

Travis grinned and nodde. He then walked back up to his room, seeing Sophie. "Hi Sophie." he said politely, smiling at her.

She eyed him, stepping back. "Yessir?" she asked warily.

Travis took a step forward to close the distance thatoccured when she stepped back. "So, how are you? I'm sorry about how I acted in the past by the way." he said sounding sincere.

"I'm fine." she said non-committingly, looking away.

"Well thats good." he smiled at her.

She picked up the duster, "Is there anything you want sir?" she asked.

Travis sighed. "Not really, I just wanted to talk." he smiled at her.

She stepped back, "Okay sir..." she murmured.
