-DanceHallDrugg I know, it's really starting to bug me. And don't get me wrong, I want the best for Stephenie and her books, But I feel like people reading it now are just reading it 'cause it's popular. Like this girl I know, She trashes the books and then says "They're really badly written, but I just can't stop reading them." It makes me angry to no extent when she says s**t like that. And I also don't want people going to see the movie and claiming their a "true" fan. I know how you feel. 3nodding My friend's claim they're 'No. 1 Fans' because they've seen a trailer of the movie. Then they turn to face me and realise I'm re-reading the series for the thousandth time! Really annoys me.

ElementelTwilight ya, I hate Harry Potter, so I'm glad these books are taking it's place Seriously...I know everyone has the right to state there opinion but Twilight and Harry Potter are too different to be even compared. Everyone do me a favor and read Vampire Knight! Thats Harry Potter's true competition. Why? Its an academy. They practice magic, the school also has there secrets. Alot of things that are in common. Twilight is an awesome book(except for BD) but it is a completely different world. And completely different to HP.

I don't actually know very many people who have read Twilight. I only just started reading it, but it had nothing to do with the movie coming out. I didn't even know there was a movie until I joined this guild. I have also wanted to read the books for a few months but have had too much uni work to do so hadn't.

I admit that I only started reading Twilight a few months ago but I don't think it should matter how many people read it...what matters is why they're reading it. You should read a book if it truely interests you personally, which is why I started reading Twilight. What pisses me off are the people who read just because everyone else is, those are the people who shouldn't read it...and if those people didn't read Twilight the number of people reading it would decrease.

I agree that it's awesome that lots of people are reading it, but take for an example my friend. When me and my other friend were reading it a year or two back, she starts trashing it, saying how boring it is and "it makes me fall asleep". Now she's reading it again because everyone else is reading it, and claims to enjoy it.

Nope. Every person I talk to barely knows what twilight is. It's a little sad that the only people I can talk to about the book are my sister and now my cousin (she just started reading the series and got to BD in like what? one week?).

I hate that everyone and their mother is like 'ZOMG TWILIGHT I LUV IT! I LUV EDWARD! MOVIE MOVIE MOVIE!' It's stupid to say how big of a fan you are and everything when you just started reading the first one. stressed That's what bugs me most, the people who haven't even finished Twilight and are saying all that stuff.
For instance, I myself have loved Twilight for several years. I received New Moon not long after it came out, etc. etc. But that doesn't make me a better fan, it just means, Yeah I read it a while ago. What makes a fan is that you love the series and are actually into it because you were interested reading the novels. Not because you saw it on MTV or Myspace. Ugh. Those people make me sick, wearing their 'Team Edward' shirts before they've even read New Moon. stare
However, if they really read it and are interested, then yeah. I like that. As a future English teacher, I already realize how hard it is to get some retarded Teens to actually read.

It's starting to irritate me.
I am glad i see random people with Twilight in their hands, and I'm happy I can talk to my friends about the books. but, it's like the more popular it is, the more i have to hear "new twilighter's" rants and most of the time they missunderstand the characters. I don't know that's just me...
it wouldn't annoy me as much if they didn't all "jump on the band wagon". I wish it was this popular a year ago or something. All the hype makes me cringe. I fee like the secret is out in a way lol...

Not everyone is going to understand the books the way some of us do but for now we just have to suck it up and deal with it...it's not like there's anything we can do to stop band wagon people from reading it.

Ok, here's my view; I found out about these books over the Amazon.co.uk shop in late Jan/early Feb 08. And fell in love with them. I have adored them ever since but i have never been able to talk about the series to anyone because no one else i knew had read them. Now, Stephenie then released the 1st chapter of Twilight into this little mini-book that came with a magazine. My friend found it and then begged me to let her borrow the whole book. She is now into the first few chapters of Breaking Dawn. She seems pretty hardcore to me, even if she is a 'late bloomer' and we have both claimed that they're our fav books of all time. Where i live, Twilight is hardly mentioned anywhere. Just to see it in the stores gives me butterflies.. But i do think that when it does come out as a film on December the 12th here in the UK, everyone's going to go absolutely mad and Twi-Hard. As much as i love the series and even though i am really pleased for Stephenie Meyer, i think it's gone a little bit over-board with the whole advertising scheme. ninja
