Well that's good to have confirmed. And yes, it did fit well in that sheath, no problems inserting or removing.
What, do you think it was modified or something?

Good to know that, even though I got so much out of it, that it wasn't too far from the 'fair price'.
No, I just think it's funny that the M8 sheath will fit the bayonet for an M1 Carbine, an M14, and an M16. Seems like something the military would do though. It's not like they've been collecting battlefield data over the last fifty years on how effective a bayonet is and what shape/size it needs to be.

Well, when they make some things that are actually good. They tend to stick with it if it isn't broke.
Well, for certain things that are less costly to produce or design a new one of.

In my opinion it needs to be big.
See Japanese Bayonet or the Winchester 1897 Trench gun Bayonet.
They're practically swords.
Someday, I shall buy the machete bayonet for the No.1 Mk.III. Now that's a blade of may uses. It turns the rifle into a halberd, and you can cut brush with it!

eek
That is the bayonet of a warrior.

Do you have a picture because I can't seem to find one.

Awesome.
One thing does bother me though. You can't fire it with it attached.
Or can you?

I was hoping for something like that.

How much does that model Enfield go for?

The No. 1 Mk. III is the cheapest of the SMLE series, but the internals are slightly flimsier and most only have a blade sight.

Yeah. The No. 4 and 5 have peep sights mounted behind the chamber and a blade on the front. The No. 1 has a rear blade sight forward of the chamber and an identical blade on the front.

That seems extremely odd, but interesting.
