Cookies and Rivalry (otawara)

"Before the ads, I had time to get to know the customers," she replied, "Breathing room, time to think. It does matter."

"Looks like you're the friendly face of the business." he said, his eyes kept diverting to the clock hanging on the wall. In five minutes, the shop was clear of all life...or mostly....

"I like baking," she replied, slowing down a bit and calming down. "I'm happy when I bake, I guess that's why people like this place... but Jenny seems to be dead set on making it the next Starbucks."  

[otawara]

"Well its your business, isnt it? Tell her to stop." Danny said.

"I have." she replied, "But once she gets something into her head, she bulldozes through it until she's done. She can't believe I want to keep this place small."  

[otawara]

"I see..... so when do you get off?" Danny asked as the last customer left.  

[TeHsChNoZbErRy]

"Whenever I feel like, but I usually stay to close up," she replied, "Why?" she looked at him.  

[otawara]

"Just wondering... It's been a very long time since I see you... almost three years. And I was wondering if you wanted to catch up over dinner?" he asked. 'Wait...why did I just say that? What's wrong with me?!'

She raised an eyebrow. "we weren't exactly friends, I don't know why you'd ask..." she paused, "But sure."  

[otawara]

"Thanks. But you know, I still want to catch up with an old accomplice." he said. 'Stop it! Do you really like her? Or are you just being stupid?'

"Okay," she smiled, "I'll go get cleaned up real quick." she went into the back to wash her hands and get the apron off.  

[otawara]

Danny took off his hat and sighed, thinking. '...she's your RIVAL. You cant like your RIVAL. In any way, shape or form.'

'But, she seems so nice now...'
'A rival is always a rival!'

She came out again, "Okay, where do you wanna go?"

"Errmm... let's see... you're around sweets all day... so pasta?" he asked.
'Are you trying to be romantic??!'
'I might be....'

"Pasta's good," she replied, stepping out from behind the counter. "There's a little place down the way, not that far."
