She's admitted she doens't have much of a personality,
But I still like her, because she's obviously not afraid of speaking her mind. That's something many ppl don't do because of what OTHER ppl might say or think about them. I admire it.
To some that might come off as arrogant, beign in that TOM, or What ever.
But, hey, she's only human, and a teenager, she's allowed to say stupid stuff, and to make mistakes. Being famous does not change that, it just exposes every single one of your mistakes and your stupidity to the world, for everyone to criticize you.
Yes, I do think her acting in Twilight wasn't her best, at all, but in other movies, I did like her, Pre-twilight. like In the land of women, into the wild, and now in adventureland, i actually did like her acting.
I hope she does a bttr job in New moon,

And I do like musicals, like Across the universe, i loved it. Except HSM, I cannot stand it.
That's my opinion, you have yours, she has hers. if it's different from mine, I respect it, because we are all not alike. ♥

^^ Yes. biggrin besides, is it just me, or does somebody else think....
Bella, doesn't have much of a personality??
And since she's the "suffer in silence" type, then , why would she know how to display emotions if she's always hidden them...lol that can be an excuse to the acting...

not really... bella is described to be like that when it comes to other people. she's also proned to crying (specially when it would have been nessesary when she left forks) and she had no emotion at all. she said her lines rather than played them and i've never seen someone blink and studder wildly when they're upset without and depth to the emotion. i think that her shallow performance will be good for the next movie considering she spends most of the book in that state but it just wasn't right for twilight. and also i think a lot of it is kristen just has one of those crabby faces, she always looks ticked off and bella was supose to be a shy but kind character. not glaring at the other person all the time. considering thats pretty much the extression she has all the time i've seen her (besides the poster, which is airbrushed of course) so maybe thats just how her face is, difficult in showing expression.

I thought Bella had a lot of personality in general. She's a typical person.
I'm usually a suffer in silence kind of people... but that doesn't mean I don't have a personality. If I said everything in monotone all the time people would be like WTF? She obviously didn't connect to Bella's character and that's what showed in the movie.

And when angry I am kind of like her in the movie.. I stutter a lot but I don't sound... like how she did? If that makes any sense. But I tend to stutter a lot when I'm expressing myself to begin with and when I'm angry my mind is trying to wrap around more than one emotion and thought at once so I fumble over my words quite a bit. that can be normal... she... just really didn't act all that emotional in most of the movie. I mean when her and edward are driving by the place where their dad's are at she's just like "That's my dad's car. Can we pull over?" and it was so expressionless that I was just like... wow. I would've been like WTF??? eek What's going on????? gonk

But... perhaps the next movie she'll connect more to Bella's character and it'll shine through? Well we can hope.

Like I said. everyone has their opinions, i like hearing what other ppl think about the character.
In the movie, i really didn't see any emotions. Maybe it was because she tried to hard?? or not enough? maybe... In new moon she will be more comfortable, since she spends half the book in a zombie, almost killing me of boredom state.. Maybe she'll nail that.
And i think the blinking was bcause of the contacts.. IDK

i don't think contacts would do that or she would be blinking like that all the time. and I wear color contacts sometimes for photo shoots (which is very rare only to add green to my eyes so i don't get red eye. my eyes are amber so camera's don't like them) and if they're in right you don't feel them at all. and mine are cheep. now if robert started doing that i'd understand. the vamp's contacts are thicker cause they're drasticly changing the color. Brown's really easy to do with lenses, although not usually favored cause the color is often times boring.

speaking of changing how she looks... i remembered noticing that when her hair's down it's super thick but her ponytail was tiny. then i found in a thing about the movie that she was wearing a type of wig i laughed... well that explains a lot. lol

I think my coloured contacts are kinda cheap too.. they dry out really quickly and then destroy my eyes. And brown isn't a drastic colour at all to change you eye colour from. It's a fairly common colour. (I had grey contacts... I got them cause they were suppose to be good over brown eyes. I don't wear them very much)

And usually if the contacts are comfortable there isn't a problem, you usually don't even notice they're there. I don't anyways, I wear them every day now a days. (they're my BFF)

And the wig thing made me laugh too. It's weird that she had to wear one.. i thought her hair worked for Bella when I saw The Messengers (that's her right? I cannot remember right now)

yes it was. although i thought her acting in that movie was aweful too. when i heard the line up for cast i nearly cried. bad lead role acters, disney of course had to put their nose in it like they do everything PG 13 and under now and a bunch i'd never even heard of. i was proven wrong with all of them but Kristen. it still urks me how awful she was. sure she kinda looks how i pictured bella (well everything but her face. Kristen has one of those mousy, crabby faces) but looks arn't enough to bring a character to life. especially the lead. i didn't think Rob looked like the description of edward very much but he's still improoved greatly and is obviously trying his hardest. Kristen i'm not so sure...

Oh I know. Just the acting alone was bad.

I thought (to be honest) that the secondary characters, like Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rose, etc were better actors. I saw them more as their respected characters than i did with Bella and Edward.

When i read the books I imagined Edward to be.. very elegant looking and almost kinda old (not old as in age but mannerism and stuff)

But like you said at least Rob has improved a bit... I'm also worried about new Moon and Kristen in it.
I think they should go read Skip Beat! That'd help Kristen learn what acting is about. (woo for manga some times) Cause the main character in that series wants to be a serious and famous actress. And the whole point of it is to see her change and learn what acting really means. one of the things she learns is that when you get a role you must understand that character's feelings and thoughts to really portray that character you're playing.

(p.s the reason Rob even gets so many fans for his role as edward is because many of the fans are younger preteen and early teen people. And they all think he's sooooo good looking and all that stuff. I don't like how he looks 90% of the time. He looks shaggy, unkempt and unclean. I cringe. I thought he played a cute Cedric Diggory though in Harry Potter. And even in Twilight I'll admit he looks good.. but not drool worthy. Now if you put someone like Matsumoto Jun or Hugh Jackman in front of my face that's a whole different story)

i really agree and also they automatically put his face as edward's now and considering he's supose to be perfect they assume thats what perfection is supose to be. it's like fashons... what ever the magazines say is cool... even if it looks like you're wearing a trashbag. lol. i mean, i know this may sound really weird, but i don't really find any actor's attractive because of the fact that i don't know them. sure there are some that are decent looking but thats about as far as if goes for me, so i'm pry not the best person to ask about looks but as far as rob goes for acting, with the approach he's going for he's doing decent i think. Kristen really needs to work harder if she wants to pull this off. truthfully i don't think she's capeable, she was so... out of the groove of things. she was't even focused enough to add voice fluxuations or cry when nessesary... i even know better than that. it's just even more frustraiting cause she's the main character and it's such a good series with awesome potential and she playing bella just might ruin it... as for the other actors i couldn't be more happier. i absolutely love ashley as alice... couldn't have been more perfect i think, thats the one i'm most impressed with i think and i was judgemental. she's my favorite character.

i thought ashley looked perfect as alice too. I was mot pleased with her out of everyone. Emmett though came in second. WHenever I reread the books I think about him when I read about emmett now and it fits well. Like he got that cocky grin down like Emmett does in the book when talking about his muscle. I love it. The thing I found amusing about the people who play Alice and Jasper is that they're dating in real life... maybe that's why i thought the chemistry between them in the movie was really believable. lol

But anyways... I don't think Rob is perfect at all. I'm one of those people who do find stars attractive...THOUGH I'm very, very picky about guys. I mostly go for Asians (TBH) so other guys gotta be something special to catch my eye and Rob most definitely didn't. Though like you said, he is trying and I guess that's what counts considering he doesn't like the series and thinks Edward is a puss vampire. Kristen though... I think she should attend acting school or something. But the funny thing is, she's been better in other movies. I still think she needs to go connect with Bella's character more or else the read of the movies are all just going to suck.

(P.s. I actually though Taylor is a good Jacob too.. he's how I imagined Jacob to look. I'm excited to see him in New moon)

to me that makes it worse. she can't even act what she has in her head then. and even so, i think it's completely mental to not read up on your character. I don't know if it's just because i'm OCD about it when I get a part in anything but i think it's very, very important. and if that was the factor on why she was so bad then why arn't the rest of them? someone else would be faultering at least a little too but they're not. if someone has a logical answer for that then please tell me.
