uryu ishida Man of the Demoneye just out of curiosity, anyone know what the MPG for a deuce and a half is? 13GPM. CAREFULLY look at that acronym. (I'm joking) I had a friend whose truck was so modified that it did get GPM in the end. Aside from that, I found it was 11 highway / 8 city. (MPG)

uryu ishida OberFeldwebel uryu ishida war_junky 91 uryu ishida Well, I think I just scored a second job that pays better, and might last longer than my EMA job, which will end before school starts again. It pays something like $8.66 an hour, and I'd only be working a couple houes per night. It's carpet cleaning, from what I've been told. If it stays pretty steady and I get my current loan payed off (8 could with a single paycheck if I so desired), I might be able to finance a car after this ordeal goes down. If I can find a good card, anyway. Wranglers are all over the place at $6k, but I'm after a Cherokee, which seem to be rarer for sale, but cheaper. Come to Indiana, you will find Cherokee's on every block, i s**t you not. A buddy of mine got rid of his Cherokee just because he hated how everybody had one. I could always get a truck, but I don't want my s**t in the back to get ruined because of the weather or stolen as easy. And I love the looks of the Cherokee. What's the average price? I bet it's less than the average here. A car that if you'd rear end someone you'd be picking THEM out of your grill? ... Sounds to me like an M35A2 Deuce and a half. Well, if they could even get up that high, most cars you'd be picking them out from under your truck. [img]http://image.automotive.com/f/roadtests/8960402+pheader/154_0611_01_z+m35a2_military_truck+paperwork.jpg[img] Doesn't show a whole lot of the truck, but it gives a decent size relation thing. They've got multifuel engines so you can run it on a mixture of diesel and gasoline, not sure what percent of what though. I know what a deuce and a half is, and I can get them reliably cheaply, but the milage sucks, handling sucks, and it would cost a s**t-ton to get the people selling them to drive it down. There is a store called Surplus Supply with a store on Ebay. They are from texas. When i got a quote on the deuce they were selling it was only like $500 for shipping. And thats to the upper part of the Indaiana/Ohio border. So if you find the right company shipping wouldn't be too bad of a problem. And i looke around about the Jeep price around here. I couldn't really find any years lower than 2000, but those are only knocking at five grand. And you can pick up a good deuce for five grand.

Right down the street. I'm seriously considering breaking my own code and getting a loan for it, before someone else buys it...

SUNOFABITCH. The Comanche seems ot have been sold. On the other hand, Mike had the M44 today, so I got to bring it home. He didn't have any ammo, though. So right now I'm looking through ammo and comparing per-round cost, followed by after-shipping costs. I can get a 440-round tin of Bulgarian surplus for $104 (and change) after shipping and a $5-off coupon, through Sportsmans Guide. Heads up, Mosin owners! 149 grain, 440 rounds, $94.97!If you get their specials email, their latest one had a $5 off ANYTHING coupon in it, which dropped the price after shipping from $109 to $104. Then I can look around for stripper clips. Okay, the text-pron on the Mosin. It's an M44, duh. De-cosmo'ed for me. Bayonet a bit sticky (movement wise), but it'll work out after a bit. Partial cartouches all over the stock. Some of the small ones are whole. Frakking import markings... Round reciever, as far as I can tell. Pre- or post-war, because the machining quality is a bit higher than war-produced models. Communist-stamped reciever. Nice trigger, for a Mosin anyway. Came with: REAL sling, not a dogcollar sling. Two-section ammo carrier on the sling. The double-sectioned oil bottle, still in the paper. Sounds like there's STILL OIL IN IT. Supposed to come with: 20 rounds Brown Bear, dealer cost. Sold out 100%, before he even took it home to de-cosmo (what I'd been waiting on forever). That was dropped off the price. I'd take some pictures for everybody, but my neighbors are nosy as ******** so it's still out in the truck of the car. I also bought a new silicon rag and a .30 boresnake. Stopped at walmart: OODLES of 7mm and 25-06, OODLES of 9mm and .32, three boxes of .40, a couple boxes of esoteric high-power centerfire (no x54R, of course), and the obligatory two aisles of birdshot. No .45ACP. Bought the last box of UMC from Mike's, made several people mad today. Grabbed it because it was his last box. He has two boxes of Golden Saber, but $50 a pop.

OK, now, if you think GPM is bad, you should research the Land Wasser Schlepper. It had 12 GPH. I don't have my book with me, I'll check it later. It has twin propellers in the back, if I remember correctly are 200mm wide.

True, most recreational vehicles are rated in Hours, but I'm sure a lot of them get better than 12.

Well, I've got the Mosin inside. And ran a boresnake through the barrel several times, for good measure.
Pics tomorrow. After work. When it's not oh-god-thirty in the morning.
