Alvintette, I just remembered your similarities with Mr. Creosote. wink (I'll let you decide how much of that you are willing to let other people know.)

BLEAUGH!! *pukes all over the place* Yeah, there's just something about school cafeterias, even college ones, that makes me gag. In college I puked in the dining hall more times than I care to admit (and more times than y'all wanna know about, trust me!). redface Although, in my defense, one of those times was when I was trying to eat supper just a few minutes before auditioning for a play. (As you can imagine, I haven't eaten much before an audition ever since then. lol ) But...yeah. My catchphrase in the dining hall at school should have been: "Better get a bucket before I throw up!"

And no, I canNOT watch "Mr. Creosote" without spewing all over the place. *shudder*

And now that I've probably grossed everybody out, I am going to shut up and hope somebody changes the subject. mrgreen

Or, as Lizz put it, "Wow! You got distance!"

And on that note, I am going to sign off and get some supper.

Strangely enough, I remember that. Not exatly the memories that the faculty intended for us to have for a lifetime.

blaugh I should say not! And I laugh about it now, but I always got so embarrassed! redface

I guess that means that it is only funny after you have time to get over the embarrassment. lol

And now for something completely different!

What, a man with three buttocks? Or a man with a tape recorder up his nose? Or maybe a man with a tape recorder up his brother's nose!

oh.. and of course there's the dead parrot sketch.. that one's hilarious!

"there! now that's what i call a dead parrot!"

"no, no, 'e's just stunned!"

"STUNNED?!?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:48 pm
"It's not pining; it's passed on!!"
And then, of course, "This is a late parrot. It's a stiff. It's expired and gone to meet its maker. Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed it to its perch, it would be pushing up the daisies! It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!" Or something like that. I saw it again recently--which is why the quote is so fresh in my mind--but I can't remember exactly how it goes. But I do love all the ways he invents to try to tell the shopkeeper that the parrot is dead. I think my favorite one is "It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible!" rofl

Oh, and that penguin sketch is hilarious! John Cleese and Graham Chapman as housewives. "PENGUINS DON'T COME FROM NEXT DOOR; THEY COME FROM THE ANTARCTIC!!"
And: "If it lays an egg, it'll roll down the back of the television set!" "We'll have to watch that!"
And their whole debate about "They don't stamp animals 'Property of the Zoo'!" The logic they use to defend their points is just so messed-up! I love it! blaugh

(I'm going to misquote here, sorry) My theory, which is no one's theory but mine, and it is my theory, to wit, the theory which I came up with, it is mine. And mine it is for I am the one that owns it -

Transcript of Sketch Here

This sketch comes to mind when I hear some friend or politician pretending to be a scholar, pontificate. Or even when I myself do same!

blaugh I haven't seen that one! I'll have to see if I can find it to watch.
How about the sci-fi parody with extraterrestrial blancmanges landing in England and turning everyone into Scotsmen? That one's funny! I also like the "Ewan McTeagle" sketch, where all of his "poems" are actually letters asking people to lend him some money.
