Anne Rice
Cry to Heaven (A bit adult, some graphic scens, but really good)

Tender Morsels (Again, it's a deep and lightly graphic book, but YA)

Firoozeh Dumas
Funny in Farsi

Gary Soto
The Afterlife

Kimberly Brubaker Bradely
Leap of faith

Maggie Stiefvater
Shiver

Donna Jo Napoll

Arthur Golden
Memoirs Of a Geisha(the book is way better than the movie and it is for a more adult audience.)
S.D. Perry
Resident Evil: The Umbrella conspiracy
she wrote a whole series up tp 6 books I think base on the video games. I loved them.
Keith R.A. DeCandido
Resident Evil: Genesis
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Resident Evil: Extinction
They are all base on the movies but are very well written and give more details you are left wondering about in the movies. I am hoping that with the new movie out in September there is also a new book.
Christopher Pike
The last vampire series has been re-released under
Thirst no.1 and Thirts no.2
He also wrote many great young adult books that had strange plot lines from aliens to chain letters. They can be a bit graphic and a bit adult but they make a great read.
David Sosnowski
Vamped
Rapture
Ellen Meister
The Smart One
Secret Confessions of the Applewood PTA

Alright, updated except for Piggie's stuff...

Oh yeah, there aren't any series in there. I have more to remember that are though.

Patricia McCormick
Sold

Lois Lowry - Loose Trilogy
The Giver
Gathering Blue
Messenger

These four books are MUST reads. Sold is realistic-fiction and gives a fictional first-person view of the lives young girls in India suffer through a great majority of the time in the slums.

While Lois Lowry's loose trilogy questions the meaning of the words Utopia and Purpose. The last of two of this trilogy are more closely related to each other than The Giver itself.

Also, below is another mini-series that is realistic-fiction and gives you a first-person look at the lives of Colombians and their protest against the bans of growing their sacred cocoa leafs that is nowadays misused to produce cocaine.

Deborah Ellis
I Am A Taxi
Sacred Leaf

Wow. I can't believe neither of the lists on the first page included The Princess Bride by S. Morganstern. (I'm actually talking about the abridged version by William Goldman. Never read the original...)

And I didn't check for Redwall but it's a fantastic children's book. I've read the series countless times. It's by Brian Jacques.

Added^^!

Though I added Redwall as an individual book...I'm not sure about the series sweatdrop

I learned something fascinating: the supposed "original" Princess Bride exists only in the so-called "abridged" version wink

SO it's alright that you haven't read the original...it doesn't exist rofl Genius!
