Well. There is no clear answer to that. Every person is different in their tastes. I have a friend who eats his pancakes with gravy. I do not. I'm not saying that he doesn't have as good taste as me (though it is weird and a German thing, the gravy pancakes) but I respect his opinion. So. There will be no clear outcome to you & your friend's battle of pancake/waffles.

Gravy on pancakes? That's nasty! xp I must be one odd german then cuz my pancakes need only two things, butter and syrup.
