MC Relevant Nymphoseed MC Relevant I think part of it has to do with the media stereotyping the black woman image. Movies and TV wise anyway. Seriously man. Like my friend just last weekend. I showed him a girl I had just met and I drop her ethnicity(black) and he couldn't believe it. 'I never thought i'd say a black chick is hot but.." I feel like the media is starting to do better though. I mean even on t.v. it's becoming more common. Yea, true. But before? ESPECIALLY on famous black movies, they usually set them out to be the bitchy independent scary type woman.
I mean, I'm not saying ALL films, but let's just say the ones that are most famous with races OUTSIDE the black community. Diary of a Mad Black Woman, for example.
Just like how the media usually sets all Black guys to sound like bad boys (more in music and movies). Thing is....most girls LIKE bad boys, so it doesn't really hurt us as much as it does black women.
Yeah, guys do like bad boys, which makes it hard for the guys who aren't bad attract females. But, some girls expect most of the black men to be how they are portrayed in the movies and music videos as thugs or gangster or just being hard period.
They don't have that, the girls look the other way. So it does have it's kind of pain in a way.

Exactly. It's hard to get girls when being the nice guy.

Lil_Toymachinegirl Well i got that problem especially during school like some Latinos/Hispanics are white or lighter skin tone i just happen to be a dark honey color all my family are white tone i stand out like an oreo lols guys i've met or dated ask me how come im dark or they'll say something like "your dark!" Well it used to bother me alot cause i stand out alot people in school would be like "tienes el nopal mero frente!" meaning i have a cactus in front of my forehead saying pure mexican! that didnt bother me it just made me proud! and gosh i didnt know they had pills for that! lols
Huh. Would have never guessed that saying would mean being a pure mexican, but it makes sense if you look at it.
But yeah, my best friend had went back to the Philippines, and her family is really rich out there. And to show their wealth, their skin is really pale. She had to take pills to make herself pale.
When she came back to the states, she looked like a ghost. It was kind of freaky. I thought she was sick.

Tsukira Well, my boyfriend and I were hanging out, and I forgot how the conversation started, but he told me he preferred girls with a lighter skin tone. As you can see, I am a dark girl; I am mixed. ( I am not just black)
My boyfriend always thought that girls that are mixed are always lighter. Which is somewhat true. My two sisters are lighter than me; I am the darkest one.
He said I proved him wrong on that statement. Before we dated, he said he always wanted to be with a chick that was half black and half latino. Met me and was surprised when I told him I was half Cuban.
Anyways, he told me that girls with a lighter skin tone look better to him and that a girl who is half Asian or whatever looks real good.
Honestly, that made me feel like s**t. I have no Asian in me, and if I want to go lighter, I have to take those pills, and I do not want to do that. I like my skin tone, but sometimes, in situations like this, I wish I was lighter.
He told me not to worry about it. He fell in love with me and that I look good to him and blah blah blah.
But it hurts to know that I am not his 'ideal girl.'TL;DR: My boyfriend said that he prefers lighter girls. I am not his ideal girlfriend when it comes to preference.Discuss: Have you ever been with someone who told you that you were not the ideal person look wise How is your day going so far? I am making my specialty tonight: Spaghetti dramallama wow, im sorry for u. i don't like girls with a darker tan either sweatdrop

k3ki-x i get it all the time. im mixed with a lot of stuff black irish dominican and puerto rican my bf calls me a blirish dominirican he is puerto rican and dominican but he is full blooded spanish i look black when people look at me and i dont even have mixed kid hair.not curly and kinky like my moms(black and irish) but thick and nappy like my grandma.(black) plus my sisters all look black too bcuz our father is dominican and boricua. but dark coloring in the gene pool is a dominant trait. i considered a redbone though... xD
I had a feeling you had some type of Spanish in you. It's your facial structure. But not all mixed kids have mix hair. But I never understood that term redbone? Why do people use that for light skin people?
