Bio:
Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?
Bloody Mary. Yeah, you heard right, she's THAT Mary. All the urban legends, all the myths... they're about her. And she knows it. The problem is, however, she doesn't get that they are in fact legends and myths. She thinks all the far fetched stories about her are true.
Mary was mortal once. This is true. Mary is still mortal, but she does not believe it to be so. When she was a foal, Mary was struck ill, so ill in fact that she was pronounced dead. Her parents buried her, but had been advised that the Soq doctor was a quack, and they should put a bell out, that she could ring from inside the grave, in case she woke and was trapped.
Mary awoke in that cold grave alright. All she had needed to heal was some sleep. Oh, she still bled. She never should have put on that formaldehyde prom dress... no wait, wrong terror tale, anyway, she awoke in the grave, but time had passed. She was no longer a foal. Panicked, she found the rope and pulled and pulled, but no one answered the bell. She pulled until it fell over and the rope went slack in her mouth.
For a time she panicked. She was awake a long time in that dirt filled hole before finally she found the drive to do something. She began to dig. Mary will be the first to tell you, if you ask, that hooves are poor tools for grave digging. But she managed. It was a hard fight, and the wounds she got then would never stop bleeding.
When she was finally free, Mary saw the grave she had climbed out of, the overturned bell, and the dreary surroundings. Walking in her new body took some doing, getting used to being an adult, as well as being weak from hunger and fatigue. She stumbled her way home. When her parents saw her they screamed and fled, as though they had seen a ghost.
Shaken, Mary stumbled to her room. Her once straight locks forever bore the crimp of the grave. Her lovely blue eyes had dimmed, her flanks took on the color of bone itself, mixed with blood and with soil. She was not who she had been, what had she become?
In her frustration, Mary went to throw her mirror, a thing hooves are even less suited for then digging, and found the mirror moving on its own. She stopped it just shy of impact, and it heeded her command. She stared at her reflection again. What had she become?
She spent some time with the Bloodmoon carnival. She remembers little of that time period, other then being regarded with fear and awe. They became the same to her, juxtapose-able, twined, one. Sometime around the moment she broke free, it came into her head that she had survived what would have killed a mortal. She survived, and in surviving became stronger, became, in fact, a Goddess.
She now lives to give others the same experiences she had, so that they too can grow to their full potential. After all, it worked for her... why not her children?

Familiar:
Taphos - Name means Grave in Greek. Mary treats her like a slave, and she more or less is. A weaker mind and will, she believed Mary's Goddesshood, and agreed to serve her loyally. Since paws are better then hooves for Digging, Mary allows this. Taphos aspires to being a useful aid to the Goddess and maybe joining her in legend one day. Her greatest desire is to see headstone makers offering busts fashioned after her for luck.
