Grammar Nazis: Giving intelligent people a bad name

Well, I'm a grammar nazi. I have difficulties understanding sentences like "hey u, u wnna c** payl rovl?" (ROVL is apparently some kind of game, I know now).
But well, if people misspell, it's no big deal. I mean, english is my second language and I screw up myself. But screw the "U"'s and "R"'s and "Y"'s and whatever else they use! evil

Well, once I met someone over the internet who claimed she was a grammar nazi. She always flamed other people over the misuse of apostrophe's and such. (There, their, they're, that kind of thing.). She gives a bad name to all grammar nazi's because of the fact that she uses no capitals and abuses the poor ellipses and exclamation marks.

'Course, then there's the grammar nazi's all of you are talking about, and they're no better.

I try not to be as I know I also make mistakes when typing fast. But things like "LyK ZoMtG!!!!111!!!one!!!11 DiD u hErE wUt Hppnd?!1!!?!!?//!!?" Are definately going to get me started. I have even seen someone with a screen name "lyk ur funny" I never said anything to her but it annoys the crap outta me whenever I chat with her.

I don't think I'm a 'Grammar Nazi' sure I love to flame a n00b for text talking; when I'm having a bad day it just feels nice to argue with someone and know for absolute that I'm right. I only do it when someone really gets on my nerves, posting something so stupid it's not even funny, it's just idiotic. If I'm a Grammar Nazi for trashing others' posts that are really ******** up, then yes I am.

If it gets you annoyed then why don't you say something? If she insists on making a fool of herself with a user name like that, I think she deserves a good flamming. By some miracle, does she type like a person who gives a flying monkey a** if she's spelling right?

I don't go mental at people who don't spell properly or use "txt-tlk" but I type properly. People on MSN think that I'm weird because I type out full words.

Time and place for everything. Sometimes it is appropriate to correct, sometimes it is not. Correcting all the time will never win friends; it just looks insecure.

I'm all for word play, however, as that's how a language grows (when appropriate, of course).
