Name: Endymion
Name's meaning: "Derived from Greek ενδυειν (endyein) meaning "to dive into, to enter". In Greek mythology he was an Aeolian mortal loved by the moon goddess Selene, who asked Zeus to grant him eternal life. Zeus complied by putting him into an eternal sleep in a cave on Mount Latmos." - behindthename.com
Personality: Endy is one of the most sincere lions you will ever meet. While some may find his truthfulness disturbing, he's the friend you can count on for honest advice (though getting him to keep a secret is another matter). At first he may seem blunt and inconsiderate but as he grows older he will learn to speak the truth more gently. His emotions are always genuine and he expresses himself with unrestrained enthusiasm, whether he's happy or sad. When something goes wrong in his life he mopes about, sometimes crying in private. Fortunately most of the time he is a loud, silly cub who always finds himself making others laugh, which he enjoys, but sometimes his unrestrained antics him into trouble. He will always be a leap first, ask questions later kind of guy. Living by his heart will lead him to make a lot of mistakes in life, but in the end he'll be wiser for the pain.
Future Rank: Nyangumi (guard)
Additional Notes: I'd like Endy to start a family one day, but he'll probably go through a lot of heart break before he finds the perfect woman. As an adol he'll be the kind of guy who falls in love every day (though he won't have cubs at this stage). Even as an adult he'll jump into relationships without really thinking them through and most of his crushes will be short-lived. He won't start a family until he finds his one true life mate. He will choose to be a guard because he loves his pride and wants to keep it safe.
PS - I do have a leopon who will be joining Bahari in the future, but since she's a hybrid I don't think she counts for this contest?

Name: Hermes
Name's meaning: "Possibly meaning "cairn, pile of stones" in Greek. Hermes was a Greek god associated with speed and good luck, who served as a messenger to Zeus. He was also the patron of travellers, writers, athletes, merchants, thieves and orators." - behindthename.com. Also, Hermes is one of my favorite Greek gods.
Personality: Swift of foot and quick of mind, Hermes has an eye for detail and the reflexes of a shark. He loves to play games and listen to stories, especially adventure stories. Love stories simply bore him to death. Mushy feelings almost seem to disgust him. He's not the type to settle down, or at least he may not think so. When his brothers are just discovering girls he'll still be challenging them to races. For now girls are girly and he doesn't want much to do with them, except for his mother, who he feels obligated to protect. In spite of his athleticism he has no problem being lazy and quite enjoys a nap in the sun. A pragmatist, Hermes only tries to live a simple life. He sees no point in pushing himself too hard.
Future Rank: Depending on RP, he could either be a Kinengwe (hunter) or Pomithi (story-teller).
Additional Notes: One day I'd like him to meet a girl who really sparks his interest. She'll probably have to get under his skin and engage him, since he tends to think of women as pretty things that need protection and attention. Also it would be nice if she could get him more motivated.

Olive: I meant, immediate future. Sure, if down the road there are council spots available and you qualify, then by all means everyone can try. But reason I ask for future rank is to make it easier for when my certist certs the litter and I don't have to hunt down everyone for their adult rank. ;3

Name: Perses
Name's meaning: Titan god of destruction
Personality: Perses is a very sweet cub but also a bit of an odd one. He’s strangely quiet and still for a cub and his eyes are often fixed on the sea. He’s easily-distracted and will be prone to a large number of annoying (if not infuriating) things: not noticing when he’s being addressed, getting distracted by the sound of the waves in the middle of a conversation, humming on the most inappropriate situations… and many more.
When he does realize others are talking to him and he finds the interaction fairly engaging, Perses is a very gentle cub both in words and actions. Even as a cub, he seems to be at peace with himself and the world. He is not fond of wrestling or anything that brings forth an aggressive response from the depths of his being. His mood, however, will seem to vary in direct correlation with the sea: If the ocean is calm, Perses will be exceptionally still and quiet; but when the ocean is troubled or angered by a storm, Perses will be more active and even a little fiercer, reveling in its power.
Future Rank: Kinengwe (Hunter)
Additional Notes: He will become a hunter when he grows (for lack of a more appropriate task for his personality) but will always do his job with unusual haste as he craves to be near the sea at all times. He will even become a little anxious when away from the ocean for too long and he ill show show a strange degree of understanding and respect for the sea. He’ll slowly become a bit more social as well and a relatively good fisher.

Name: Artemis.
Name's meaning: Artemis was described as the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. She is the Hellenic Goddess of the hunt, wild animals, and the wilderness (among other things).
Personality: Artemis is a bit of a Mommy's boy in the beginning. He likes to be close to her, and when anything distresses him, he goes to her for comfort. However, as he grows, he becomes more independent and strong, and develops a desire to help anyone that is in pain, especially lionesses giving birth. But his deepest passion, is his love for the hunt - the freedom, the thrill. However, he takes care to only kill what is needed, as he feels that all life is important and should be respected. Throughout his entire life, he has never had the desire to mate; he sees no end to his choice to remain chaste. But you never know, he could meet someone special in the pride when he's older.
Future Rank: Kinengwe.
Additional Notes: When he is not fulfilling his duties as Kinengwe or resting, he likes to wander through the pride and keep an eye out for anyone that needs help (this phase starts when he is a Juvenile).

Name's meaning: "A wise teacher."
Personality: As a cub, Chiron is bold and inquisitive, always wanting to learn more. Sometimes, the intensity of his desire to learn can annoy or worry others (as he is prone to asking lots of questions and being overly adventurous in the pursuit of knowledge). As he grows, he starts to pass on some of his knowledge to the younger lions that he sees, and learns that he has an affinity and quite the liking for teaching. He is a kind and gentle teacher, very patient and fun.
Future Rank: Pomithi.
Additional Notes: Chiron loves watching over the cubs, and longs for cubs of his own.

Name: Pontos
Name's meaning: He is names after the Greek God of the sea, father of the fish and other sea creatures.
Personality: Pontos is a boy who always believes he is destined for greatness. He blindly follows his superiors, and wants to be powerful, strong and respectable when he grows older. He inherited his love for water from his father, and wants to try to convince his mother that she is missing out on the wonders of the water. Despite his ego, he has a soft heart and wants what is best for others. He has a soft spot for girls, and loves his mother and sisters very much, harboring a desire to protect them.
Future Rank: Kinengwe (Hunter)
Additional Notes: Pontos is somewhat outspoken and obnoxious, but it is only because he wants to be a very good hunter. He is very loyal to his pride, and would do anything for them.

Name: Narcissus
Name's meaning: Based on the mythological Narcissus, who fell in love with his reflection and was turned into a flower.
Personality: Narcisus, like his namesame, is a very vain and self-centered cub. He believes himself to be the best looking cub, not only out of his litter, but out of the entire pride! He loves getting attention and holding it, and will do just about anything to get it - as long as he doesn't make a fool of himself. Unfortunately, this often happens when his attempts fail, and this will send him spiraling into a bad mood that can last for hours as he sulks about his humiliation.
Future Rank: Pomithi (Storyteller)
Additional Notes: His vanity could cause him problems as he grows, but hopefully it might tone down with enough lessons to smack some humility into him. But of all the common ranks available, storyteller is the only one that fit - the spotlight will be on him while telling stories, after all!

Name: Argus
Name's meaning: Greek for 'bright'. Argus was the many-eyed giant sent to guard Io, Zeus' mistress at the time, and who was transformed into a peacock by Hera.
Personality: Argus is a perceptive and protective cub. He is something of a peacemaker, and tries to interfere with his siblings' squabbles whenever they get out of hand. He also has an uncanny knack for catching his siblings in mischief, though his reactions vary from going to tell his parents if he thinks it's something particularly stupid or dangerous, or just joining in the fun if it looks interesting!
Future Rank: Nyangumi (Guard)
Additional Notes: Argus may be a protective little fellow, but when it comes to his own safety he can be a bit dense. (As in angering his brothers by tattling on them to his parents, earning him payback later on). Argus doesn't understand this because he only wants everyone to be safe and happy! So yes.... he can be a bit dense, not in the sense of a lack of intelligence, just in having a great deal of 'duh' moments during his lifetime.

Name: Ares
Name's meaning: God of war, courage, violence, male passion, and civil order. The son of Zeus and Hera, he was depicted as a mature, bearded warrior dressed in battle arms. His attributes are golden armour and a bronze-tipped spear, and his sacred animals are the eagle owl, the vulture and the venomous snake.
Personality: As a cub he is adventurous with an insatiable for exploration and new experiences. He can be boisterous and bossy but he always means well and will do anything for his family. As he grows he matures into a large lion, strong of body and heart with a fearless attitude that often gets him into trouble when he tries and handles things alone when he really should have called for backup. Be it an invading party of rogue males, a herd beast that's just too big for him to bring down, or cleaning the beach of debris after a storm. He certainly lives up to his name, full of passion for life and love and the sea, he is stout of heart and honest in spirit. He holds himself to a strict code of honour and expects everyone else to have, at the very least, decent manners when interacting with their own kind. He is an excellent fighter, though is always very careful to never get carried away. The result of such could only bring his family and himself deep shame, so he avoids it. In general he is a very protective big brother who loves his family and his pride, with the brawn and skill to back up his claims.
Future Rank: Nyangumi
Additional Notes: Id like him to meet and apprentice under an existing Nyangumi lion, and for this male to become something of a mentor and second-father to Ares growing up.

Name's meaning: To Endure
Personality: Smart, calm, and usually not much of a talker. He enjoys spending time with his parents and siblings. He enjoys watching the sun set along the horizon of the ocean and watching it rise, if he was awake. He found great joy in protecting or helping out his mother when he could. He lothed watching his siblings fight over something silly or seeing misfortune happen among the pride.
Future Rank: Nyangumi (Guard) or Kinengwe (Hunter)

Name's meaning: After Tycho Brahe, the most bad@$$ astronomer in existence (he had a golden nose, a personal midget, AND a pet moose, plus the entire expanse of the heaven memorized without using any equipment - seriously, read some of the article). Also, Tycho means "he who hits the mark" in Greek. Appropriate, don't you think?
Personality: Tycho is a peculiar fellow with peculiar interests. He seems a bit distant at times due to his quirkiness, though he truly loves socializing. However, his number one love is that of the stars. It is like his own personal ocean - since his mother has kept him somewhat distanced from the true ocean - with glittering lights and movements not unlike those of glistening waves at sunset. He is mesmerized by them, and it gives him a greater sense of being - the universe is so vast and so magical - there must be a higher power. It has made him very religious, not only to the gods of the sea, but also the gods of the sky.
Future Rank: Pomithi
Additional Notes: With his vast imagination and love for the unknown, his storytelling branches from astrology (I'm aware that astrology isn't exactly known to lions, but he makes up his own). He connects his own constellations and puts together vivid tales of the battles of mighty lions and heroic leaders, and the underdogs rising to the top, or even Aesop-type fables - all based on what he sees in the stars.

Name: Rhodes
Name's meaning: Greek for 'The place of roses. The name of an Aegean island.'
Personality: Rhodes is usually in the back of the pack with a little smile on his face, and likes to be away from the center of attention. He's much more of a scholar, preferring to hear stories and learn the ways of the Pride to playing with fish. Sometimes, his drive to know everything can turn into a fifty questions game that can test the patience of a God.
Sometimes, he'll let bad things happen just so he can see the results, provided it's nothing to serious.
Future Rank: Pomithi (Story-teller)
Additional Notes: I imagine that he'll be the voice of reason to my other Bahari cub, Zephyr, his cousin from Poseidon's breeding. They'll be thick as thieves and best friends for life.

Name: Aeneas
Name's meaning: It is the name of a Trojan hero who was the son of the prince Anchises and the goddess Aphrodite. In Greek, it means "to praise".
Personality: Aeneas sees himself as very important and may come off as arrogant to those who meet him. He is constantly trying to take charge of a situation, and even has a habit of creating said situation for that exact reason. He means well, though. In his mind, he is simply the only one capable of finding a solution, and in that regard, must fix it before it becomes a problem.
Eventually, he will realize that perhaps he does not have to do everything by himself, and will instead train himself daily alongside his fellow pride members to aid them as best as he can.
Future Rank: Nyangumi (guard)
Additional Notes: As he grows older, he'll start to mature into someone very devoted to his work. At some point, I think it would be interesting to have something (it could be tragic, or it could not) happen that will finally snap him out of his one-sided mindset.

Name: Boreas
Name's meaning: Boreas was the north wind in Greek mythology. He was more destructive than Zephyr, his gentle brother, the West Wind, and he kidnapped a princess and bore two sons by her.
Personality: Boreas behaves much like the wind. He’s free and often seems high in the sky (at least in his own head), often preferring to sit on the cliffs to feel the gusts whipping around him and telling him stories than swimming in the sea. He moves over the lands swiftly, always moving and seeking, never tied to one place. He is often placid and calm, acting normal and rational, sometimes even playful and teasing, if in the right mood. Sometimes, though, to get what he wants, he whips up a little bit of an attitude, to let people know he’s not going to budge and that they better not mess with him, or he’ll whisper in their ear, put an unobtrusive thought in their head. But may the gods help you if you make Boreas angry! Then he’ll whirl about and rant and rage and lash out at anyone in his path. He only gets really angry in the case of something dire, however. For the most part he’s a lot of bluster. He also always loves to watch the way winds affect things, from hunting to the waves of the sea. And just like the winds, his influence extends far with his friends, and his personality can change in a split second.

Name: Aegus
Name's meaning: King Pandion of Athens was his father and fathered the hero Theseus. He sacrificed Theseus to go to the Minotaur, and his son defeated the beast. Aegus killed himself when his son flew the black sail that meant Theseus due to confusion.
Personality: Aegus is a brave and adventurous soul. He likes to run and wrestle, and generally swagger about like any boy. He is often fearless and takes great pride in being from the Bahari’mtoto. He would do anything, go to any length, and perform any feat for his family and his pride, but friends and allies must prove themselves to him. He values honor, courage, and honestly above all, but also cunning and logic, all of which he has himself. He believes he is an upstanding citizen and as such likes to associate with like-minded people. He can’t stand laziness or excessive complaining! He has a fondness for children, though, and can be soft and caring in private.
Future Rank: I’d like him to try to become a Kinengwe, but to end up a Mwani or Pombuka instead.
Additional Notes: Sacrifice would be in his future.
