Pandora had been regretting the decision to move closer to the Hufflepuff Common Room, but after two certain events, this was no longer the case. Fresh air and sunlight were important to the herbology professor, yet life was something that couldn't be measured in how valuable it was. The woman couldn't believe her eyes. She had once taught the girl lying on the ground. That was before she decided to teach only the older students. Erianthe Acacia was a sweet girl, if she recalled correctly. Why anyone would kill her was beyond Pandora.

"This can't be real. Surely it's all a dream?" the woman mused in shock to nobody in particular.

And I know the way I left wasn't fair

Remington Jagger Nott

User Image

Huddled in the ever imminent seclusion of shadows filtered by flickering flames strung along the dungeon corridor walls of stone and mortar, Remington Jagger Nott had just departed from the ever-shifting grand staircases from the infirmary upon meeting the nurse, and it's two patrons. The information he had recieved, he decided, was best left to himself, and then, Remington had heard the scream. It penetrated past defenses and rebounded off of the castle stone floors. It shook, clambering down the staircases and echoing around corners until it reached the Cursebreaking Office, and Professor Nott in tow.

With a swipe of his wand, the depicted image of charcoal youth subsided, and faded away to the picture it once was and had always been. As he swirled on his heel determined to find the source, he was bombarded by a wolf and it’s howl. The unmistakable voice of a professor belted past the snarl of the beast, an incident occurred on the lowest level of the dungeon chamber—his level.

Though his office was close, Remington did not fret into hurry. He glided across the room and swept open a cabinet, illuminate bottles of ingredients and vials of potions reflected meekly. His fingers glided along every smooth surface until he gathered what he needed and hid them amidst his travelling robes. And then, he was off.

Finding the commotion hadn’t been hard at all, he only had to follow the listless chatter and muses of shock, doubt, and betrayal. He finally rounded the corner and caught sight of the motionless body on the floor, slumped over in a heap of spiraling darkness. Death, he could taste it with the flicker of his tongue. Gliding close, Remington cast a wary gaze upon the girl before he knelt down to investigate. ”Has anyone performed the echo of her wand—might lead to some answers.” He decided, the priori incatato spell had been one he used often. ”If this was through the mark of an unforgivable curse, we can expect the aurors here soon.” He paused, knowing full and well that the bitter string of misery lifted, was one from the killing curse. He slithered to a stand as he took a step away from the young girl, a triplet, if he recalled correctly. What a tragedy, for a mother to outlive her daughter. And then, a flash of memories and doubts had plagued him.

”Headmistress Swan,” Remington began carefully. ”I have reason to suggest that this may not be an accident…

“Do you remember the Nettlepot murder several years ago? The children were sent to the grandparent’s estate; numerous reporting of an attempted break in had happened and pierced the defenses and wards. Don’t suppose it’s related, do you?”

"Sadly, it is the truth," he said, looking at the professors who had just arrived. As much as Cinq couldn't believe, the scene was right in front of him, so he can't deny anything. "We should-" he began to say, but was cut off by a sudden coughing fit. No, not now! he yelled in his head. The stress of school-related work and this event had put too much pressure on him, resulting in a compromised level of well-being.

He turned around and continued to cough. Suddenly, a sickening wet cough came from Cinq, and instantly he knew what that was. He tried to stand up straight, wiped his mouth of blood and turned around, facing the professors while hiding his bloodied hand behind his back. He would deal with this later, as the death of the Ravenclaw girl was more important.

"I have absolutely no idea what to do," Cinq confessed. "I just know the perpetrator should still be on Hogwarts grounds."

Daisy's voice seemed to have vanished when Professor Moreau appeared. It just slipped away as though it hadn't been there to begin with even though the hall was still ringing a bit with the sound. Had she screamed? It seemed like a thousand years ago already. Spade wiggled in her grip...wait a moment when did she get him out? Daisy didn't remember all everything seemed to be happening so fast and at the same time so slow. Before she knew it the Head Mistress was there giving her a draught though what she wasn't sure. Gripping it in one shaking hand Daisy just held it there as her mind tried to register what was going on. Idely her fingers moved through the soft fur as her mind tried to ground itself again. There wasn't blood on the walls here, it was just the cool stone of the dungeons. It wasn't the outskirts of London it was Hogwarts. That wasn't one of her sisters on the ground it was a girl she did know. For some reason that thought hit her hard. She found this girl all alone down here and Daisy didn't know anything about her. Why did that bug her so much?

Voices sounded around her and she recognized a few of them. Professor Athlis, DADA. He sounded winded and more then shocked. Professor Moreau told him that she had found the body but Daisy didn't even look up unable to break away from those eyes. Soon the History of Magic Professor showed up and he didn't sound well at all. All of this was so stranger to her listening to the voices but not able to really focus on them. Voices she didn't know spoke up, one asking about a wand and Daisy couldn't help but notice the familiar tip of wood poking slightly out from the edges of the shirt the girl wore. Quietly she put Spade back in her bag and shifted forward not noticing the sting in her scraped knee when she did it. Slim fingers closed around the wooden tip and with a gently tug she pulled it from under the body...at least the half that she could. Apparently it had broken, probably from when the girl fell.

"Professor Moreau? I don't think you'll get much from this." She said her voice barely a whisper right now. Holding the piece of wand up Daisy finally was able to look away from the girl. "May I go please? I...I don't want to be down here anymore." Her face was white by now though she hadn't completely broken down yet. She needed Charon right now. He was the only one she knew who would get this. If he was here she wouldn't feel so numb. If he was here everything would be fine. She needed to send a letter to Soren...or go down there or something. Her mind was fogging up again and a part of her whispered she should probably take that potion but another part of her mind balked at it. Why she was so nervous Daisy didn't know but a tremble was working its way back into her hands.

Jasmine had been sitting in the Common Room when she heard a loud scream. Her fellow Slytherins didn't think much of it, but the triplet had been immensly curious. She snuck out without their realizing and proceeded down into the dungeon, eventually running into a large gathering of professors. "I heard a scream, is everything alright?" the girl asked innocently, not noticing anything beyond the number of professors that had gathered.

This was real. How could something like this happen? Perhaps Pandora had been a bit too idealistic in her years at Hogwarts before. Sure, she knew about the incidents with the Chamber of Secrets, and even about the Battle of Hogwarts, but she thought all that would have stopped after the last war had ended.

Her shock, soon turned to a slight worry for the professor trying to organize everyone. He may have tried hiding his blood covered hand, but Pandora caught a glimpse of it. "Are you alright?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.

---------Can you feel the Magic

Lukas finally arrived on the scene, rather late. Yet he had been busy with a student in the Hospital Wing when the patronus had appeared, thankfully the student was not conscious when it arrived and spoke the message. In his hands he carried a jar full of a soft blue glowing liquid. "I am sorry for being late, I was treating a student, plus I thought it best to bring some Calming Draught." he said as he approached the scene. "Now let me see her." he said as he set the potion down on a table. He looked over the scene and noticed the Flying Professor had coughed up blood. "Cinq, are you okay? You should go to the Hospital Wing later, you need to be looked over." he said before turning to the headmistress. "Headmistress Swan, would you mind giving everyone a small dose of Calming Solution, perhaps a bit more to the students then they should get some rest in the Hospital wing, a Professor will need to escort them of course." he said.
He turned and walked the short distance to the body, he did not recognizer her, it was truly saddening that this is how he would meet her, if that was what you could call it. He looked over the girl's corpse, noting the horrified expression, the lack of physical injury, the crumbled way the body has fallen. After a few minutes he looked up at the group. "Definitely the killing curse. Which means one thing; there is a murderer in Hogwarts." he said before rising. "Headmistress, I believe it best you contact the Ministry, and the castle should go in lock down." he said.

Cinq frowns as two professors asked about his well-being. Had it been that obvious? Yes, of course it was. No matter what poor reason he gives, it'll just make it seem more obvious. "I'm fine," he said with assurance. Then addressing to the nurse, "I refuse to step foot into the hospital wing. You'd have to knock me out and drag my body there, and perhaps in my unconscious state I will also resist being taken there. So-" But before he could finish sentence, he started coughing again, thought it ended soon and without blood.

Why, I didn't notice, Sherlock! Cinq thought contemptibly. It was quite obvious from the look on the student's face that she was murdered. The terror in her eyes says it all. His gaze softened as he turned his attention to the student who was screaming her head off. Sadly, he did not know her name.

"You can go if you want. But are you sure you're okay? Would you like someone to escort you back?" he asked, suddenly feeling quite protective of the young girl.

Anya rose from beside the girl and surveyed the people gathered here. "Yes, Professor Moreau, please escort Miss Gaunt to the Kitchens for a sweet roll and a glass of something to drink. Miss Acacia, I need to speak with you for a moment." Before the girl could approach, she addressed the other Professors. "Eldak, Grayson, Hess, Pandora and Remington, please search the school for the possible attacker. Break up and get any other Professors you can. This is an emergency and until Arthur arrives with the Aurors, we're in charge. Heads, please ensure your students remain in their common rooms. Lukas, that is a wonderful idea. If anyone need some calming draught, please avail yourselves of it. As of now, we are in lock down mode."

Eldak nodded, immediately knowing that he needed to contact his Prefects. Locking down the school... that hasn't happened in a long while. He sighed and nodded to the Professor. "Someone should rouse Inari. Pandora, could you do that since your House is closer. I have to troupe all the way up to Ravenclaw Tower."

"Yes, ma'am," he responded when the Headmistress told him to escort Daisy Gaunt. It was a good opportunity to wash his hands too. Hopefully, she won't notice anything.

Cinq turned his attention to Daisy and smiled happily at her. He held his hand covered in blood into a fist and put the arm under her leg to pick her up. He placed his other hand, free of blood, on her back for support. He had done this princess-style carrying with his own little girl, but a teenager was certainly heavier. Cinq didn't say anything, but rather, he just kept his brilliant smile and asked, "Shall we go?"

Grayson nodded, swallowing back his nausea. "Okay, no problem." If anyone noticed the way his voice sounded a bit high, he didn't know. He instead turned around and started back upstairs, thinking he would have to patrol the first floor, and make sure that his palms weren't as sweaty as he thought they felt.

Jasmine had been sitting quietly, observing what the professors were doing when the Headmistress requested to speak with her. What had happened that required Professor Swan to need to speak to the third year? The girl now knew it had been the only other student, a girl by the name of Daisy Gaunt, who screamed. She had yet to uncover why the girl had screamed.

"What's going on? Why are you calling for the aurors?" Jasmine demanded. Perhaps she would have been better off in a more inquisitive house.

A student had managed to make her way into the Dungeon. When Pandora realized that the student was the only Acacia in Slytherin house, the professor's heart broke a little. The woman could not bring it to herself to look at the girl. She was so young. Too young to know that her sister had been murdered.

The herbology professor was about to leave for the Hufflepuff Common Room when she heard Eldak ask her to find Inari. "Will do," she replied calmly to the two who had given her orders. She had to try not to run out of the Dungeon as she left. Pandora did not want to be there to hear the anguish that would pierce her from Jasmine.

The commotion from all around had stirred the White Fox into action. There was something else too, something in the air that had the white masked figure moving before he even knew what was going on. The lower levels appeared to be the source of the movement and so he had proceeded with all haste in that direction. The lower he got the more the White Fox began to slow his pace and take more careful motions as the areas for high point hiding became less and less.

The dungeon...why was he not surprised that some horrible incident had come to pass down here. The figure moved quietly and swiftly through the halls of the fourth floor to keep up but also not be seen. The deep dark shadows of the lowest level of the castle offered a great high vantage point for the masked wizard to move and remain in the shadows. When the White Fox came across the scene from a distance he felt comfortable and secure, while still being able to see the form of the limp body told him everything he needed to know. For a moment the White Fox wanted to make his presence known and offer his assistance but from the look of the professors his appearance would likely be meet with spells and fury.

The professors were handling the matter with the immediacy he had hoped such elders in their positions would do. The commands given by the Headmistress and the nods and then further orders and requests made by others showed a great deal of cooperation among the teaching staff. One of the professor had spoken of something the White Fox found most disturbing before they began to split up. Talk about an unforgivable being cast against a student's was a horrible idea, and the notion it was another students meant something truly sinister had gone down, or it was made to look that way. Whichever road the truth was down the White Fox would need to be there to help see it through. He would need to gain more information and from the sounds it was going to have to be a face to face. As the teachers trailed off the white mask followed the path of the teacher who had spoken about the possibility of the unforgivable.
