I'm not too great on backgrounds either - I generally just block in the shapes and colours, then go over it with a texture from the internet or photo.

So would we want to start with the Soul Reaver time period, or start from the beginning of Blood Omen and work through them?

I always thought the chibis were cuter for the LoK guys. But my opinion doesn't matter, I guess.

I've never used any CGI or Adobe programs with my art so I wouldn't know how to even do that. How about this: we have a generic st of things to draw and everyone interested makes an attempt at all. This would include characters and basic backgrounds and such. Why not put those to a vote and see who does it best?

Ok, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Something that I've noticed professional comic artists do is that one person inks it, another person colours it, and another person does the text.

On the digital art front, if you don't want to pay out for Photoshop or find it confusing to use (like I do sweatdrop ) you could try ArtRage, which I use for everything. And you can download a demo of it too, if you don't fancy buying it straight off. Personally, I find it more user friendly than other programs like Photoshop.

Back with the comic, you guys might be interested in seeing this.
