Mwako'Damu looked to the others, to Armada and he sneered at her, lifting his lip, fangs showing. She was a disposable creature. If she were lost in the sands, she would wish someone would come to her to find her, bring her to water, to safety, home.
"I would watch your tongue, you seem to have no friends to your side or back here," he spoke directly to her, his silver eyes settling on her strange ones. "So either hold it, or do follow suit or your own thoughts, and head that way," he pointed to the direction of the endless, seamless, desert. "And have the desert help this situation a bit, hmm?"
He turned form her and followed after Ute.
He was unafraid of Armada, and perhaps he shouldn't have spoken out of turn, but he angered her, more than his tongue could hope to project.
Mwako'Damu caught up to Ute, looked to her paws, her eyes, "I won't let you go alone," he spoke, offering a smile of hope. "We'll look together."
If her mother had wandered and gotten lost alone, it would do no good to have Ute do the same. This was much more important than his small round pebble.
He looked up to the sky, to where the bird had been and tossed it up and out quickly as if an offering to the beast, perhaps it liked to collect things like some of the pride members did.

Fia was riled instantly by Armada’s dismissing of Zii, her raging snarl joining Ea’s retort. She swung around to face her and took a menacing step forwards. Thankfully, that one step was as far as she got. Both Ea’s shunning of the white-eyed cat and a tug on her tail brought her anger back under control. Gritting her teeth, she turned to see Vesta’s eyes watching her, imploring her to leave off the anger and focus on what was important. A rush of breath exhaled from her lungs as she tugged her tail free from beneath Vesta’s paw and moved across to join her sister, turning back to see that Canicus and Mwako’damu had moved to join them. Giving them a grateful nod, she turned her attention back to Ute, giving a low, comforting rumble. “Zii always was too selfless for her own good.” She nodded. “It was a good plan. Many pairs of eyes are better than one. Lead the way, then.” Her eyes rounded back to check on Vesta who was stepping up neatly to join them. “Maybe you should—” She was interrupted. “If you’re about to suggest I should conserve my energy, then there’s no point. You’re just as tired as I am.” “But if all the Water-seekers tire themselves out, we’ll—” “This could be a matter of life or death.” Vesta insisted. “I’d never forgive myself for standing back and doing nothing if something happens to Zii’moto.” Fia looked ready to refuse but set her jaw and gave a firm nod. She couldn’t really argue with that. “Well, it looks like we’ve got enough volunteers to be—” “Wait! I’m coming, too!” It was Naar, rising to her paws and limping over to join them. “I can help search.”

Armada was starting to become more like her mother than she probably would have liked. With a careful glance in the direction of her tumbling cub, she returned her eerie gaze back onto the one talking. Mwako'Damu, was it? Her nose crinkled. "My, what a bunch of bleeding hearts. You'll drive us all into our graves. Kindness and compassion only go so far in times like this. If I were lost, I would not expect aide."
She climbed down from the rock, her tail curling. "But, I'm not lost. And I'm going to continue looking for water. Should I see your sister, I'll tell her hello."
Ea bristled, and opened her mouth to a retort. But Naar's sudden run forward ripped the words from her mouth. "Absolutely not!" She said compulsively. It turned out that Ea was a medic first, and a debater second. "Look at your paws, Naar! Between you and Ute, we'll have two crippled lions on hand!"
As Ea was babying Naar's feet once more, Veru looked about at those gathered. "Better we split up into groups," he said. "We'll cover more ground that way. I wouldn't trust in birds though. In my experience they're more trouble than they're worth." And Veru would know!
Vlam seemed to like this idea, and nodded his head. He tapped Ea on the shoulder, distracting her momentarily from trying to subdue Naar's attempts at heroism.
"Alright, I think that's a good idea," Ea said. "One group with Ute, and Vlam can take the other group. And those of you who don't think this is a good idea, well you might as well tag along with your best friend Armada there."

If he were alone with her, this Armada, he would have snarled, charged, and shoved her face into the sands and made her take a long thick drink of it. He merely gave her a passing glance, looked to Fia, and said not a word for he knew it would only cause more trouble, and he would be the source of it.
"You'll show us where to go, Ute," he said again, "we need to stick together," Mwako'Damu said aloud, not just to Ute, but to all. "But we cannot be reckless in search either, we need to conserve energy by pacing ourselves," he lokoed to Ute and smiled though, "but we'll go as fast as we can, all right?"

Azar had been trying her hardest to keep up and help out in as many ways as possible recently. She wasn't very good at the water searching herself, however she was helping anyone one else as often as possible watching cubs and talking to others. She did what ever she could when ever she could to help out, she didn't like feeling helpless especially moment like this that was for sure. However she was forced this morning to spend time not doing anything, she did need some rest however the sun was high and she heard that a group was beginning to gather, there was no way that she was going to miss out on something important that was for sure.
She moved as quickly as possible to the spot, keeping an eye out as she did. But as she approached she looked from face to face, she knew many there, siblings, nieces and her apprentice. But no one seemed exactly relaxed, worried looks were across many faces and this concerned her. She didn't know what happened but she knew it didn't look good that was for sure. She knew that there was no good news that was for sure, but as of what bad news had been brought into the circle concerned her greatly. She wandered up to Kasi, she looked like she wasn't as far into the matter as everyone else was. She nodded to Kasi before looking toward her sister's and her nice. "Whats going on?" She asked curious but very concerned. Something really did seem wrong.

"Now hold on..." Kosuke went over, covering Rowtag with shade. "Maybe the little rat-- I mean cub-- Has a thought there. Depending on the bird we ask..." He turned toward the pridal lands, trying to recall how Shula called her little orange ball of feathers. He finally gave up, leaning down to Rowtag. "Okay, do YOU know how to call Shula's bird...? I'm afraid I'm better with my feet than my voice at times..."Rowtag covered his mouth with his paw, smiling, then climbed up onto the older lion's head. "I need good vantage." Puffing his chest, he let out... What had to be the most pathetic-sounding yet rather loud roar. It wasn't to call other lions' attention, though, and it was soon rewarded. It didn't take the eagle too long to arrive. She'd already been out lazily hunting - Not that she really felt hungry, she just wanted away from those two pesky snakes - when she'd heard the call of her mistress's little brother. With a flare of wings, she landed on a rock, cocking her head to one side to stare at the juvenile. "You called, Rowtag...?" She then noticed the gathering of various lions, and found her curiosity piqued. The presence of other birds, too, had her curious. "I seem to have missed something, and I want in on it..." Her gaze fell on Ea. "You look like the one in charge, yes?"The red cub, in the mean time, was still stalking the lizard. To say the least, the silent little lion was using curious techniques to do so, trying to hide behind rocks... Which wasn't hard, given his small size. It'd be much harder as an adult, when he'd be too huge to hide. Not that his coat helped matters...

It took Fia a great deal more effort than she would have cared to admit to bite back a sharp retort to Armada's response. If they weren't off to find her missing sister, it was likely that she would have attempted to bring about the fight that Azarax had rudely stopped before. Unfortunately, there was not enough time. Not for Armada and certainly not for Naar, who was still insisting she had a right to come with them.
"That's not fair." She snapped, stamping her paws on the sand as if to prove that there was nothing wrong. "Ute is going and my paws are fine! I don't want to sit by and just do nothing!" She was fuming, her whole body shaking and Fia remembered how quick the slow-brained female was to anger. With a snarl, the black cat stalked forwards and gave the orange-red female a hard shove.
"Listen to Ea. You'll just slow us down. Someone needs to stay here, anyway, just in case Zii comes back. Might as well be you."
Naar opened her mouth to respond in protest but Fia's paw cuffed her sharply across the face. "We don't have time for this." She hissed. "You delaying us could cost Zii her life." She didn't really believe that, but it had the desired affect. "Stay here."
The lame cat drew back sharply and, though she was growling furiously, she planted herself firmly on the sand and said no more.
Fia, looking across at Veru and Ea gave a sharp nod. "I'll go with Ute."
Vesta, seeming eager to get going and prove herself useful, stepped up to stand next to Vlam. "I'll go with Vlam, if that's all right with everyone?"
"Fine, fine." Fia waved, turning to catch up with Ute. "Let's get this show on the road."-- Nearby, watching with mild interest, was a white-scaled snake. He had been coiled in the sun, resting leisurely, until the lions had come to gather. Their noisy chatting and moving about had disturbed his peaceful nap and - if his curiosity had not been peaked - it was likely he would have slipped away unnoticed.
Fortunately - or maybe unfortunately - the news of the lost Firekin had drawn him closer to the gathering who, by the looks of it, were preparing to depart. With a sharp twist, he altered his path and tracked through the sand towards one of the large red males.
From what he had heard of the rabble, that Canicus seemed like a sensible sort.Quote: Note:

Kasi winced lightly at Canicus' words but nodded slightly, not verbalising that he was speaking the truth in hopes of sparing Ute from more distress but knowing it was very true, but hating it none the less. She would be distraught if it was her mother out in the desert, lost, so she rose to her feet as well when the question was posed to them. She'd help anyway she could, even though she ached from her earlier questing for water.
Catching sight of Azar approaching the group distracting Kasi from the tension that seemed to only grow. She was glad to see her teacher was amongst them and cast her a smile when she approached and nodded her head to her as well, before refocusing on the group.
She was eager to get out into the desert and help find the missing mother - and get away from all this tension. Her body was still tense, and she doubted she would relax until days after they found water. Everyone was so wound up and so ready to snap that it made Kasi on edge. She shifted on her paws, not knowing which group to join. Perhaps she would simply set off on her own, she thought, casting her gaze away from the group and into the desert. If the female had wandered, than following her previous path might do no good and she was still strong enough to travel alone.

Ute glared at Armada, her icy blue eyes narrowed at her words. 'Kindness and compassion only go so far in times like this'; her words echoed in her head. "Well I will remember well... Perhaps you should get a head at getting lost so we can all forget your tongue." She snarled, disgusted with her words. She turned from her and began to walk, not caring who was offering to go with her. She was going. As she began to leave, she spotted a familiar figure approaching and called to her Aunt Azar. "Mother's missing. We are looking for her, have you seen her?"
She began on the familiar path her mother had always covered. "I doubt she went far from her normal guard grounds. She may go a ways but she would stay within sight of it..." She said softly. She couldn't even begin to fathom some of the horrible things she could only imagine in her mind. What if she had been killed by a rouge?
As they neared a familiar rock that Ute knew that her mother and aunt Azar kept in their heart; she began to trail off the path and farther off into the sands. "MOTHER!" She called

Kosuke let out a huff, not wanting to be just LEFT there. He looked at Rowtag, motioning with his head. "Come on, we should go help." Not that he was sure a cub would be able to do much. But hey, every possible avenue had to be explored... As the rock came into view, he looked at it curiously, even circling around it.
Fueled by cubbish curiosity, Rowtag was soon trying to climb the rock, mostly for the sake of it. He didn't get very far, instead sitting down in the sand when he gave up. He'd have to try when he was older. "Pende, I can't make it up..."
The bird, riding Kosuke's back, clucked a bit at the juvenile. "You give up too easy." Then she opted for ignoring the two she'd answered, instead flying over and gliding over Ute's head. "I'm not as familiar with you all as you all are... What did your mother look like again?" If Kosuke wanted her to fly high and look for a lion, she needed to know what she was looking FOR.
Finally, Tuli noticed something. His mother was walking off. Her words were taken to heart, and the young lion abandoned his hunt to follow her. Once he reached her, he rubbed against her, before casting a look back at the others. It held a moment... And then he opted to snub his nose at them. As far as he was concerned, his mother was right.

Vlam nodded as the party split up. They'd cover more ground that way. Water-seekers knew the desert well as a side effect of their job. If Zii had been trying to find water, perhaps they were following the water veins that used to feed the pride. Without words to express himself he simply started off in the opposite direction of Ea and company, hoping Vesta would pick up the direction quickly.
Ea, meanwhile, had no idea what she was supposed to do with birds. Much like her mother, she didn't care to speak to familiars. Their words instead seemed strange and foreign. Her nose crinkled. "Listen, I can't understand that squawking. If you can, put her to use. We don't know where Zii is, but we do know where Vlam is going." She jerked her paw in the direction that he, Veru, and the others had left in. "Keep tabs on both groups, so when one finds her the other is called back in."
Ute was moving off, and Ea kept stride with her sister. "What are the chances Zii isn't in trouble?" she mumbled lowly to her, hoping to keep her voice down low enough so Ute wouldn't hear. "Zii was always too emotional."
The prospect of finding Zii dead in the desert wasn't exactly a welcomed one. "What now?" she called, when the rock came up a fruitless landmark. "Where would Zii go from here, if she was looking for water? Towards the ridges, or out further into the sands?"

Azar was surprised by the words out of Ute's mouth. She had know the young cub for a long amount of time. She had always been very close with her sister Zii, she loved her sister Zii more than anything else. Zii was Azar's best friend and the fact that she didn't know where her sister was worried her greatly. The fact that her sister wasn't around really did worry a lot She wanted her sister around and she didn't like the fact that her sister was lost, possibly hurt or dead and she was terrified. She really was terrified and she wanted to know where she was. "What?!" She said in disbelief. She turned and looked to the other around her. She was hoping more than anything else that she was going to be okay.
She flicked her tail around behind her a few times before looking at the others. She wanted to join Ute with the searching. She turned toward Kasi before bumping into Kasi making sure to get her attention. "Come." She said simply, her voice was a little shaky and a little nervous. She shook her head before she began to move quickly with the others. Looking at the rock madee her sad she wasn't going to lie. But she looked she needed to find her sister some where. She wasn't sure where her sister could have been. She didn't say anything about where she was. She was slightly frustrated by this idea, she was really just hoping that she was going to find her sister alive.

Kasi watched Azar's reaction to the news, and it took her a moment or two to remember exactly why her teacher was so upset. Of course, Zii was her sister! Kasi scolded herself for forgetting that. Sometimes, she forgot what Azar's bloodline really was, and she winced, feeling sympathetic to her suddenly shaken teacher.
When she was nudged, and instructed to follow, Kasi raised herself to her feet quickly and brushed her shoulder against her teacher's in what she hoped was a soothing gesture. Azar wasn't alone in this, Kasi wanted her to remember and of course, Kasi would follow and help the search - she would have even before learning of the missing female's relationship to her Teacher.
When she began to set off, Kasi spared a glance back to Canicus and nodded to him. She didn't really want to be rude and leave without acknowledgement, but she was in a hurry to keep up with Azar. She hastened after her teacher. She kept close to her, but did not hesitate to move further off to explore possible hidden spots for the female to have been. She wasn't familiar with the importance of the rock, she kept her eyes strained in the distance, hoping to spy the missing female before the worst happened.

Ute cast a look over her shoulder at the group that followed her, her paws not far from the rock. She gazed at it for a moment, knowing that many many many memories were tied to this rock for her mother and aunts. She hoped that the rock wouldn't be a bad memory soon; where was her mother. She looked worried, frightened but kept her cool. She had to not panic. She was an adult and a firekin and she had to remain calm. Calm like her mother. "My mother is white like me, without markings other than-" she pointed a claw to her shoulder mark. "-something similar to this on her chest." She said sternly, sure that the description would be suitable and easy. Most knew who Zii was by appearance mostly.
"I think she'd have gone into the sands personally..." She said. "I am not sure why, but I think that'd be where she was going in a wrong state of mind. She is not dumb but she hasn't been with it of late. The heat. Everything." She didn't have to explain what she meant, most knew of her past love and his betrayal. She began to head in the direction, her head lowered as a blast of sand blew at them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zii'moto lay at the bottom of the ravine, her mind sleeping so her wounded body could keep up her strength. She had woken a few times, attempted to stand and failed. Her leg or her hip was broken, she was sure of it. She was so angry at herself, when she was with it enough to realize what was going on. The pain, it was excruciating and it made her hallucinate in combination with the heat and the lack of water.
What a fool she was. She was so stupid for wandering off alone. And she had followed a voice that wouldn't dare enter these lands again. Her anger at that, made her able to drag herself out of the direct sunlight and into the shade of the over hang. She had to keep herself as cool as possible. Someone had to find her. Someone... anyone. "Help me..." She called softly, not wanting to strain herself and she had to conserve. She may only be able to call a few times.
