It's almost scary how close Ayo is to what I imagined Asi's twin to be like.

Are the two cubs the only one from the litter? Just wondering, so I can put them in for throwbacks in my journal. Oh and are the parents in the Kusini members list? I can just look for them in there if they are.

Name: Safi'moto
Meaning: 'bright fire'

Personality: A little spitfire who is passionate about her beliefs (along with everything else) and is not shy about making sure everyone knows it. If you disagree, that's fine, she'll just argue with you until you agree or shut up to make her think you've agreed. If you're mean about it, she'll just try to beat you up. After all...she won't be tiny forever, and she'll end up growing into the bite to match her bark!
Anything else? If she's from Uumikaji's line, I have a relative--Kiuma's granddaughter Nuria! Since Nuria's doing Sentinel-ish things during the Firekin meta, it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to meet sometime...and never know they're related, bwahahah.

Two fathers has never been odd to me.

In fact, it wasn't until I was a juvenile that I realized that anyone did see it as odd. Only a few, however. It was enough to confuse me for a time. What made two fathers any different from having a father and a mother? I still had two parents, they both loved me...wasn't that what mattered? Even then, it...didn't really sink in. They were my dads, they were awesome, and that was that--I was ready to put a pawful of claws into the face of anyone who said different!

I still am, actually. What, you want to say something about it? ...I didn't think so.

Moving on!

Like I said, it took a while for things to sink in. So one of my dads didn't look like me--I just took after the other one, that was all. I was too young to really understand anything about mating or breeding, too naive to know that a female has to be involved in the cub-bearing process somehow. Even aunt Keaira's appearance didn't really clue me in--she was dad's twin, and while that was pretty cool, it didn't mean she was my mom or anything.

Except...it did.

I think I broke a few things, the day I realized that. It wasn't that I was raised by two dads when I could have had a mom and a dad--that didn't matter to me, I loved my dads. But I think--no, I know--I would have liked to know. Two dads and a mom, how cool would that have been? Most cubs just get two parents! But even now, I call her 'aunt' Keaira out of habit, because...well, it's habit by now. It's not like I don't love her any less, after all. I guess whether I call her aunt or mom, that's what counts. Family...family is what you make of it.

Name: Angavu
Meaning: bright, shining

Personality: Angavu is a happy cub. She is always laughing and smiling and it's very rare to see her upset. She has a knack for making those around her happy as well, and she enjoys making sad people smile. Even though she's consistently happy, she has horrible self-esteem and tries so hard to make everyone like her that she's something of a doormat. She'll do anything anyone asks, even to the point of exhaustion. Easily manipulated, she's a kind, caring soul that could be taken advantage of unless her self-esteem is considerably boosted.
Anything else A strong parental figure or friend will be needed to keep her from becoming dependent on others. With some guidance her self-esteem will grow and she'll become a strong-willed lioness.

Angavu tilted her head as she watched a pair of butterflies fly past her nose. They didn't fly straight like birds, and she always enjoyed watching their flight patters. They seemed to be laughing with their zig-zaggy movements. A smile crossed her muzzle as she rolled onto her back, watching them from a new perspective. She really liked laughing. It made her feel warm and tired after like she had just run for miles and miles. It was great!

Right in front of her eyes, a bird swooped down and ate one of the poor little butterflies right out of mid air. She stopped smiling and rolled over, staring at the lone butterfly that was left behind. She couldn't believe it! Right out of thin air...and now the other butterfly seemed sad. She got up and walked over, reaching out with her nose to the sad little bug. It landed on the end of her nose and flapped its wings a few times.

"Oh...you poor thing. Your friend is gone," she said quietly, looking a bit crosseyed to see the butterfly. It seemed to sigh and nod in her skewed vision. "Don't worry, little butterfly! I'll be your friend. And no bird can carry me away," she said with a happy laugh. It seemed to cheer the bug, who flew from her nose and off into the grass. Laughing and bouncing along after it, Angavu follow its crazy flight route, glad she could make it happy once again.
