"Sure am, bug boy." Sub said as he confidently strutted up to the gym leader. "So, how many Pokemon we talking for this battle? I like to skip the talk and get straight to the fun. Nothing wrong with that, right?" He said with a laugh.

"Never lose huh? Why don't we make the first part of our battle interesting. While he is no longer a Bug type per se, he is in fact a bug. Come on out, Legrand!" Sub called out as he released his giant purple scorpion onto the field, the fiend snipping away at the air in a threatening manner.

"I'll start our bug match if you don't mind. Legrand, use Fire Fang!" Sub called out to his Pokemon. The Drapion would let out a shrill cry as it rushed towards Ariados, flames flickering from its own maw as it intended to take and cook a chunk out of that spider.

Bugsy seemed to awe at the appearance of Legrand. If he was anymore impressed, his eyes might have popped out of his head. That look of enlightenment disappeared once Sub called out his first move.

"While not technically a bug type, I still took it upon myself to study Drapion too. String Shot to its legs!"

The arachnid spewed out the sticky webbing to trip up its opponent, careful to ensnare the front legs with the back legs. Ariados would then leap back as a precautionary measure.

"Did you know? Drapion have the strength to turn automobiles into scrap. It has such a strong body and such monstrous strength that it doesn't need poison to neutralize its enemies. It's like a walking tank!"

The arachnid felt the ground quake beneath it, getting shaken up by the upheaval. It retreated, firing String Shot from its rear to the ceiling where it would hang midair. Bugsy looked up at the spider as it was screeching at the scorpion.

"Uh-oh, looks like you made her mad. Also, forgive me. Of course you must know all there is to know about Drapion" he apologized.

He looked up to his Ariados again, giving it a signal to use Spider Web. It spewed the sticky webbing from its mouth, covering the ground and the big purple battle tank below.

"As for Ariados, they can shoot their webbing from their mouth and rear, which is actually pretty strong and useful for tracking their enemies. Some people actually get confused which is end is which...well, not me of course!" he chuckled.

Bugsy smiled on, even as Legrande leaped into the air. Again he was impressed, this time with the challenger's tactics. It showed how well he knew his pokemon. With Fire Fang, he knew it'd get through enough of the webbing to keep going. But the gym leader didn't miss a beat.

"Ariados, show them your Night Shade!"

A jet black energy with a dark red outline built up on the arachnid's horn before it was fired at the airborne scorpion. He wasn't sure if it would stop Drapion from coming any closer, but he was confident there was no way it could dodge midair.

Fire Fang finally met its mark, getting a nice clean hit on Ariados. It winced in pain just before Legrande used Knock Off to bring the spider down. Bugsy could see the damage his pokemon suffered and knew if it was slammed into the ground, it would be the end of his spider.

"Quick, Shadow Sneak!" he called out.

With this move, Ariados slipped from underneath Drapion's tail, moving above it midair. With its forelegs it would strike the behemoth in down, using gravity to its advantage. Landing on the ground, it was clearly exhausted but awaiting Bugsy's next command.

Sub grunted as the Ariados slipped past its tail, retaliating with its own attack which caused the large scorpion to fall back to the ground much faster, the Drapion barely able to adjust its legs for a landing. Legrand would grant in pain as it fumbled its landing and took damage, but Sub and Legrand were not about to let up. "Come on Legrand, let's wrap this up! Earthquake!"

With both Pokemon now on the ground, Sub used this moment to his advantage as Legrand began to thrash about on the ground, smacking its tail and claws on the ground as the entire gym back to shake violently.
