Food. His belly growled, the saddening thoughts were gone and the heavenly smell of the spread before them took hold. Distracted he became silent and choosy, his eyes flickered back and forth while he seemed to be ignoring Anju. Once the piece of meat he wanted had been chosen he proceeded to grab it and move out of the way as more leopards began their descent. Through the piece of meat he held within his jaws he attempted an answer that came out a little muffled. "Only if you catch them on a good day will they be like this." He almost huffed, but continued moving. Both of the leopards had taken on the same task of finding a place to be seated and soon Anju had spotted it, once they were seated Gwarred dropped the meat and gave a gentle smile to her. She seemed to have hope that all places would be so nice, so kind and welcoming, it warmed his heart.

"So long as I'm next to you than any spot would suit my fancy." Those words seemed to spill out and he dropped his head to begin picking at his meat almost pretending they weren't just said. It was in the moments just after he said that that the lead male began speaking again of a tradition within the pride. Anju, the eager beaver Gwarred was becoming fond of, was quick to get up and participate. Luckily he had finished up his meal.

Fertility? The dark leopard nearly choked as he watched Anju proceed to wander up to the tree than follow up a nice toss with a fruit hitting the ground. He was in awe and found himself a little more nervous than he would have imagined. "Sure, my turn ..." He stared at the rocks, stared up at the tree than stood and took a step forward. Superstition. He held a lot in superstition and tradition. Traditions were what he grew up with even if they were minimal family tradition and he figured tradition and superstition were a fine line between true and false. Shaking his head to clear his mind he moved forward and was closer to the tree and within reach of the rock pile. "Here goes." He took a deep breath, picked up a rock, tossed it to the tree and...

...nothing. The disappointment was unbelievable, not even a tremor in the trees plump fruit would allow him the security that perhaps he held true love within a paw step, a family, a future. He simply stood and stared not knowing what would be in store for him, giving it one more second he turned and moved toward the female leopard whom he had grown a companionship with. "Just not my year." He gave a smile, but his eyes did not smile with him. "Well, it appears the festival may be ending Anju, perhaps it is time we call it a day and head onto the Roguelands?" He offered, he wasn't sure whether they'd leave together and travel, or if she was to part ways, he hoped if they parted that they would meet again.

Suddenly the fruit seemed a distant issue as the leopardess uttered one simple word 'us'. It was all Gwarred needed to hear spoken at that moment to set aside all superstitions and more. Fate had brought them together and it seemed it would keep them together for the time being.

"Together." He said softly and as she moved towards his side he subconsciously leaned against her a little bit. "Well, let's be on our way than, Anju." As her name slid from his mouth a smile grew on his maw and he began to lead the pair away from the feast giving smiles of appreciation to their hosts and giving a good-bye where needed. The pair hadn't mingled much with others so this would be a short few minutes and than soon they were out into the wild once more.

As Hu glanced around the celebration, it became clear that those who had eaten were finished and those who had not eaten did not appear to intend to eat at all. He knew the ceremony was winding down, and importantly, that it was his place to end it.

He heaved a weary sigh, glancing at his daughter with a deal of reluctance behind his pale eyes. "It is time to say farewell, I think," he said calmly, before heading back to his position upon the tree.

The jump was slower now, reluctant to draw attention to himself once again, but none of the other council were here to do so, so it fell to him.

"Thank you to all who have celebrated with us today," he spoke loudly and gruffly. "For those strangers, thank you for the peace you have shown us, and to our fellow colonists, thank you for the hospitality you have shown." He glanced around calmly, before refocusing on the crowd before him.

"We welcome all who share our views and wish to join us in our colony. For all those just visiting, we extend our offer to stay for as long as needed, or to go freely from our lands as free leopards."

"For now, we say our last gratitudes for the peace we have experienced, and as Council of the Elimisha'sombea, I declare the feast of peace over for now."

Hu waited a moment, before leaping back to the ground. He walked back to his daughter calmly. "Ua, shall we?"



Ua smiled at Hu when he returned to her side. "Ok Papa Hu," she said happily, glancing at Sanjii with a bright smile. "It was lovely to talk with you, Sanji, perhaps we will talk again soon?" She hoped so. He was interesting to talk with, though she feared their conversation would have progressed very little further with her father hanging over their shoulder.

He was rather antisocial, it rather killed conversations quickly.

She rose to her feet, and with a nod at those gathered around, the pair made their way back into the trees, towards the dens and away from the feast for another year.
