Well that put a damper in Mitch's plan as the Thunder Wave hit and caused Scizor to seize up, the mantis dropping a small blue Metronome from its claw as it was fully paralyzed. "It's my second go through all over again!" Mitch the Second cried.

Bam! The Florges was smacked right in the head, causing it to recoil tremendously, the Iron Head close to OHKOing the Pokemon. The trainer huffed as his face got red and he stomped one of his boots on the ground. "Homophobe! Florges, Endeavor!" The Florges would then charge up a small ball of blue energy in its hand, giving off a shrill cry as she did and then threw the ball at the Mawile. Feel its pain.

"Don't know what you're doing but I'm attack...Leaf Storm!" All the Shiftry would respond to the attack at once, all flapping their palm hands vigorously as they conjured a massive vortex of razor sharp leaves which threatened to consume Afreda, so many leafs that it was near impossible for Kaya to see it anymore.

SubonicXP The Miltank was taken by surprised by the Kangaskhan as it pushed back. The cow would not be bested as it pushed even harder. For several seconds the struggle went on until the Miltank was unable to continue to resist the larger Pokemon, its knees buckling and the cow sliding backwards along the dirt. "She is defeated." Amaranth's opponent said mournfully, recalling his Pokemon and soon tossing out another ball down to the ground, this time a Luxray appearing. "Ray!" Roared the line, attempting to Intimidate the Kangaskhan with its might. Both Amaranth and her Kangaskhan were surprised at the development, but then, perhaps this wasn't unusual. There was no need to push the Pokemon harder than the battle called for; this wasn't any sort of potential fight to the death, and had not right being one if it didn't come to it. The hybrid gave a silent nod, both out of respect to her opponent's Miltank as well as her Kangaskhan's efforts. However, the roar wasn't taken so well. Kangaskhan's rage would subside for a moment, flinching at it. She wasn't very intimidated by it, but it was enough to make her at least a little wary and leave her wide open for an attack.

Leslie gave a curt laugh as the man she was fighting began to throw a hissy fit down the runway from her, over a comment that she was only using to rile him up. "Oh dear. A grown man versus a teenage girl and your the one throwing the hissy fit over a mean comment. Can someone say insecure in their own lifestyle? Lacuna, Sucker Punch!" Leslie calmly told the red faced man, quickly switching over to Lacuna before the Endeavor could slam into her. A sheath of dark energy would cover her as she faded from sight for a second before she reappeared mid-swing, aimed to smash the Florges into the ceiling. Oh, poor, poor man. Wait, the Endeavor had hit Lacuna. Leslie hadn't seen it till now, but the orb that went on flying past her was half the size. Okay, so Lacuna had run through it to get at the Florges. Still better than what standing still would have done.

Damn! Kaya thought. He had been hoping for a more physical approach this go round. Still. He could work with this. "Use those sharp edges, Afreda. Smack Down!" The Carbink would, rather than generate a stone from it's chi, hurl towards one of the nearest Shiftry, spinning like a drill bit in order to employ it's sharper body to deflect incoming leaves as well as try to hit it's target. Not that it could see it's target anymore. It was positive most of this attack was just and illusion but it would have to reach a vantage point, based on memory, in order to use a better attack.

"It's my second go through all over again!" Mitch the Second cried. Tristen looked down on the ground. He knew it. It wasn't something that he or anyone else were known to use around in the team, despite their niche effectiveness. This thing would have done its job if this Scizor kept running around with its Bullet Punch. "Alright. Discharge, Galvantula!" Tristen shouted. The Galvantula rushed forward then unleashed another powerful electrical onslaught towards the Scizor.

The Luxray would take its chance as it rushed forward with its mouth open and fangs crackling with electricity. The beast would dive and clamp down on the Kangaskhan's arm with Thunder Fang, unleashing the built up electricity into its body.

And down went the Florges, as hard as the feminine man tried to resist and fight his Florges just couldn't. As he recalled his Pokemon the crowd laughed him right off the stage, the man disappearing into the crowd in shame. "Marvelous fight darling! Here, a Full Restore to heal your cutie." The host hand Leslie said item before turning back to the crowd yet still talking to Leslie. "Next type dear!" She cried out.

The sharp Carbink would slam into the Shiftry, knocking it right off the ground and landing a critical hit. What luck! The attack was powerful but the managed to barely hang in there. With all the copies now gone thanks to the pain of the critical hit the Shiftry was in a bad position. "Another Leaf Storm!" The trainer ordered, the Shiftry conjuring another large, but not as big as last time, vortex of leafs to attack the Carbink.

"I'll still get to the semi-finals you know, that's how my luck is. No further." He sneered as he tossed out another ball, a Repeat Ball which would release an Ursaring. "Ring!" Roared the mighty bear. "Facade!" He ordered. Tristen would notice that the bear had some sort of red orb around his neck and upon being released the bear winced in pain. The boy didn't have too much time to think about that those as the bear swatted at the spider with a glowing arm of immense girth.

Leslie sprayed down her Mawile, watching as Lacuna shook herself back into her usual state before Leslie looked over at the announcer. "Why not a Fighting type? Get something a little manlier up here." She quipped, scanning the crowd to see if she could pick out the Frontier Brain. One sighting, and things could get interesting.

Afreda's float was drooping slightly after that last attack, Kaya noted. It wasn't much just yet but he figured one more good hit on the Carbink would end it's tenure this time around. Especially from this Shiftry. And it wasn't using anything less than super effective attacks that hit a wide area.
"Afreda, Power Gem!" The hybrid cried out, his Pokemon obeying as it had before. Rather than simply firing it's beam, it blasted the rock chi from every exposed gem on it's body, the primary head jewel aimed right at Shiftry, When the leaves cleared from this attack, the Carbink would nearly be on the ground, it's ability to levitate heavily affected by it's loss of stamina here.

Suddenly Tristen was starting to understand what was being taught to him the entire time. He's been getting his Pokemon to use these items, and if he didn't know better, he was relying on it. The whole 'crutch' thing was starting to come into perspective. That said, it still didn't change the whole notion of it being relitively effective. Tristen started to remember about the Ursaring around Mt. Silver. They had a profound ability that has them fight extra-hard if they were caught with heavy burns, or paralysis, or things of that nature. "Uh-oh...Galvantula! Watch it!" Problem was that while the Galvantula could weather the Bullet Punches, it couldn't so much with a unresisted Facade attack. "Ugh..." That spider was not getting up by any means. "Return." Tristen then said, recalling the spider. Tristen did have an idea though. He was going to turn this newfound power against him. "Natu! Go!" Tristen shouted. If fighting a kid was insulting, then dealing with this tiny bird was probably going to be a bit on the humiliating side. As the ball came out, in one flash the bird fluttered up and landed on the battle field. "Natu natu! Na...tuuu?" The bird looked up at the towering bear before it. "Natu! Power Swap!" "NATU!" With its psychic power it started to focus its sights on the Ursaring and rob it of its strength.

"A Fighting type! How macho!" The woman cheered and immediately a rather buff looking woman jumped up onto the stage. "I'll fight ya girly!" She cackled, slamming a Ultra Ball down onto the ground with a roar. How scary. "Throh! The Fighting type cried as it appeared from the ball. "Let the battle begin darlings!" The host declared.

And down went the Shiftry as it took another Power Gem. "Dang, that's all she wrote." The Cool Trainer sighed as he recalled his Pokemon and the large current behind him rose up to reveal three paths each covered by their own smaller curtains. "Alright, you showed your true beauty. Why don't you go dazzle someone else? Pick a path my friend."

3) Heal

4) Trainer
5) Item
6) Negative Status

The once confident and brawny Pokemon felt like it hadn't slept in days and despite having just appeared from its ball it had already felt tired. "Already!? Ursaring, Shadow Claw! You got this!" Mitch insisted, the bear grunted in pain from its burn and despite having been sapped of its true strength it was still able to conjure a claw of shadowy energy and swipe it at the Natu with decent strength...if you call Natu strength decent.

A roar could be heard as Luxray clamped its fangs down on Kangaskhan's arm, the Pokemon flailing wildly as she tried to fling it off. Already growing exhausted from the earlier tussle with Miltank and the earlier intimidation, her ability to keep fighting was falling fast. Fast enough that Amaranth started to ready a ball to recall her Pokemon.

Leslie stared at the amazon that had hopped onto the stage in front of her, almost in awe of the physique she could see. "When I grow up, I wanna look like that." She muttered, quietly watching the woman's Pokemon now. "Okay. Lacuna. Play Rough." She commanded, snapping back into the real world as she watched her Mawile charge towards the Throh. Giving a peaceful smile as she came forward, it almost looked to the normal person like a little girl running up to give daddy a hug. If the Throh let Lacuna get too close, she would suddenly let a smirk cross her face before she would glow bright pink and start throttling the Fighting type.

Kaya nodded in thanks and recalled his Pokemon to it's ball, thanking Afreda for it's assistance. When the larger curtain drew back, he examined the smaller ones looking for any kind of indicator as to what lay beyond it. No matter how much he looked, though, he couldn't find anything to tell him where was the best place to go next. So he just picked one and started walking. He passed through the door and found himself in the dark. What?

Natu fluttered up, trying to back off from the big, looming bear, but was slapped by the Shadow Claw...which...really? Could have hurt worse. With its strength drained, that was no where near as bad as it could have been. Tristen only could sigh in relief...that appeared to be a real good call under pressure. The boy quickly thought now, trying to figure up something to do. He's been in this kind of situation before, only to be unable to capitalize on it that well. He was ready this go-round. "Natu! Use Steel Wing!" he shouted. "Natu natu!" The Natu teleported away only to show up right above the Ursaring. Its tiny wings started to shine bright, coming down on the bears head as hard as it could, helped by its newfound strength provided by the Ursaring.

The Throh would appear to be letting the Mawile come in close, and when just inches away its trainer would give an order. "Hugs are for the weak! Vital Throw!" She shouted, the Throh grabbing the Mawile's hands, spinning her around, and hurling her into the crowd. "You can look like this one day little one but not by going around hugging people...punch in the face to show affection!"

Kaya would find himself in the dark for a good long while, a cold draft blowing through the room. And then, when it would seem like nothing would happen, the floor beneath Kaya opened up and deposited him into an underground lake. Nowhere near could Kaya see anything to grab onto and there only appeared to be one way out in the distance, a small platform of land with a staircase behind it which he assumed led back up to the pike.
"Car car!" Carvanha immediately began to jump around behind Kaya as he hit the water, the school of fish now rushing towards him for a snack. Oh and to make matters worse? That exit in the distance was already beginning to slowly close, a wall of rock creeping down from above, threatening to seal it up.

And that's all she wrote, surprisingly enough. The Steel Wing not only had the power of Ursaring behind it but the Natu was so tiny that its blow was spread over a larger space and thus the strike was more concentrated. Then there is the fact that, you know, you just struck the door bear right on top of its head with steel. Jerk.
"...you got to be kidding me." Was all Mitch said as he recalled his Pokemon, the crowding laughing at his dismay. "Bah, I guess this is one way to lose my nickname. Whatever, let's get this over with already." With that he tossed out his last ball, this one depositing an Octillary onto the stage, the octopus sporting some type of gaudy sunglasses on its face.
"Hydro Pump." He said with a smile, the octopus firing off a massive yet of water at the (should be) airborne Natu, the glasses glowing in response. Damn that was a lot of water.

The Luxray didn't let up, in fact it kept its teeth sunk in and attempt to zap its enemy again as it let loose a Discharge.
