Lykas shrugged at the guy. "I don't care what it is little boy blue." He quipped, releasing his Seadra into the field. "By the by, I've always considered raising a Slowbro. Never really was sure if I could deal with that level of derp, though." He admitted with a shrug.
Looking to his Pokemon, he smirked. "You ready Tallulah?" He asked. '
"Dra dra!" The Seahorse Pokemon replied.
"Glad to hear it!" Lykas responded, giving a moment of thought to what the Pokemon could do. "Let's start off strong. Use Bubblebeam." He decided aloud.
The Dragon Pokemon nodded and took careful aim, spitting a wild stream of explosive bubbles at Slowbro. If her aim was true, she just might be able to deal some considerable damage.

The Slowbro's dimwitted expression did not change but it did react, spinning around to use its shell as a shield. The Bubblebeam was powerful, however the "derp" Pokemon's own Water typing helped it resist it.
"This battle is making me sleepy..." The Ace Trainer said with a yawn, his own Pokemon also executing a Yawn. Uh oh...

"Congratulations. Feel free to take a nap and let me go." Lykas retorted. He could only watch as Tallulah yawned in response to Slowbro's. Then follow suit, himself. "Damn those are contagious..."
Thinking for a moment about the prospects of what was to come. Tallulah would almost certainly be asleep any moment after that. Yawn was good about that. So what could he do? He'd have to either hit hard enough to make it sting before that or do something make her survive sleeping. Then again, this guy was a Defense specialist so what were the odds he could actually attack?
"Tallulah use Outrage!" He called out to his partner. The Seadra nodded, her eyes flashing indigo before turning bloodshot. Violent indigo flames pouring out of her body as she hopped toward Slowbro as rapidly as she was able. When she got close enough, she hopped into the air and began to uncoil her tail, slapping the slow hermit crab Pokemon around with it repeatedly until she simply couldn't go anymore, hopping back a few paces before looking around, suddenly drowsy and confused. Then she simply fell over and crashed into the floor, sound asleep.
"I was afraid of that." Lykas said to himself when Tallulah fell out in the middle of the battlefield.

Requiem of Whyspers "I was afraid of that." Lykas said to himself when Tallulah fell out in the middle of the battlefield. The sudden Outrage after the mutual Yawn took the hermit crab Pokemon as the Seadra assaulted it. The attack had some oomph behind it but it was going to take more than that to crack this Slowbro's defenses. "Chill out, no need to get so worked up. Just take your nap and relax. You too, Slowbro, day dream a little bit. " The Ace Trainer insisted. "Brooo..." The Slowbro moaned as he stared off into space, doing seemingly nothing. Okay?

"......" Lykas didn't see Tallulah waking up again in the near future. So he ended up calling her back to her ball and sending out a replacement Pokemon. "Alright, Mykel. You're on." He said plainly as the Gardevoir appeared. The Psychic-type was one of his oldest and strongest partners so this might go just a slight bit easier than trying to rely on one of his least experienced Pokemon.
"Open up your turn with a Moonblast!" He directed.
"You got it, boss!" The Pokemon replied, condensing his inner light into a large sphere, which orbited around him momentarily, like a small moon, before launching it towards the Slowbro opposite him.

At this rate I'll never finish my book. Man...Slowbro brace yourself and use Amnesia." The Defense Master ordered. The hermit crab responded to the command by staring at Mykel with a dumbfounded look on its face tilting its head in confusion as it conjured the Moonblast. The Slowbro didn't even try to avoid the move as it slammed into its chest, the pokemon letting out a slight moan and continuing to stare at Mykel bewildered.

" Crap. I just remembered....that move can weaken the target's attack. I know you know a move that can pierce defenses." Lykas told himself more than Mykel.
"You're probably thinking of Psychic, boss. Want me to hit it with that?" The Gardevoir would ask calmly. Lykas grinned and nodded. "Yes, actually. Give it a taste of your mental might." Mykel nodded and his eyes glowed bright with a blue-green light from within as an invisible wall of pressure was thrust against the hermit. Crab before him. He had another option if this didn't work but he didn't like using it.

He had another option if this didn't work but he didn't like using it. "...bro?" The Hermit Crab mumbled as he stood fast against the invisible force, it hurt but thanks to its own typing and Amnesia it did not hurt nearly as bad as it could have, in fact it was more annoying than painful. Though one thing was certain, it now seemed less sturdy, did its Special Defense drop? Now time to be thinking about that though as suddenly a blast of chi crashed down on Mykel from above. Future Sight, that was what he meant by day dreaming earlier, sneaky. "Slack Off, take a rest." The Cool Trainer ordered. Slowbro would do just that as he stretched out a little, curling up with his shell on the ground as a soothing aura of chi surrounded it, healing a good portion of his health. That's not good, Lykas better do some actual damage and soon if they want to take this tank out before it wears them out.

Lykas groaned as the Slowbro healed itself. And then a surge of chi flashed through his senses and was gone just as fast. "Mykel, you okay?" He asked his partner, watching blue boy across from them carefully.
"I'm okay. Should've seen that coming, though." The Gardevoir replied.
"Alright. We need to hurt this thing. A lot. Now." Lykas said to himself, watching Mykel shake the stars from his vision. "Think you can do the move?"
"Not even close. I need a lot more practice before I use something that dangerous." Mykel replied.
Lykas shook his own head now. "Alright. I guess hit it with a Thunderbolt. I know you can use that move." Mykel nodded to this instruction and, using his mental powers, conjured a bolt of lightning from the ceiling to crash down upon the hermit crab adjacent.

And then it got worse for Lykas. As the Thunderbolt struck the Slowbro actually cried out in pain for once, the slight increase to its Special Defenses from the Amnesia earlier did help alleviate the damage but not enough. The hermit crab Pokemon still had a trick up its sleeve however as it pulled its shell around, dug inside of it, and pulled out an Enigma Berry, downing the juicy berry in one bite.
"Slooow!" The derpy Pokemon moaned happily as the berry worked its magic, beginning to heal some of the damage it suffered from the Super Effective hit. Will this thing ever go down!?
"Man, you're really bad at this huh? Whatever...Slowbro, you look a little gassy, need to burp?" He asked his Pokemon with a smile. It was then that an even worse thing happened as the Slowbro slung its tail forward and quickly rolled towards Mykel, the tail acting as a weight to gain momentum. Once near and standing up right the hermit crab Pokemon would proceed to Belch an awful odor right into the Fairy type's face, the smell indescribable but horrific.

"Oh sweet mother goddess Diancie!" Mykel wailed as the odor of Slowbro's breath wafted over him. Was it even possible to create such a smell within any normal living being?! "Never! Again! He insisted, reacting on instinct to defend himself, Wishing he could be anywhere but here.
"Mykel, can you keep going?" Lykas asked, concerned for his friend. That had been a pretty nasty trick and Mykel was looking way worse for wear than before.
"I'll be okay for now." Mykel replied.
"OK. Try another Thunderbolt." Lykas insisted.
"I'll see what I can do......" Mykel replied. He wouldn't admit it just now but that unintended Wish before had robbed him of a large chunk of his energy and until it came back, it would take time to charge up this attack.

The Slowbro let out a moan of pain, the Thunderbolt striking true and this time it didn't have an Enigma Berry to alleviate the pain. Something else happened as well as the Slowbro seemed to be moving even slower than usual, if that were possible.
"That smarts, slack it off." The Ace Trainer commanded, this again!?
"B-bro..." The Slowbro barely mumbled as it seemed to take ten seconds for it to even move its lips. Needless to say the Slack Off was not pulled off, the Slowbro was fully paralyzed. Finally, a break.

"Wow...." Lykas grinned now. Finally, some reprieve from this relentless wall of flesh.
"Mykel, I hate to be a broken record but once more. Thunderbolt is our best weapon here." The hybrid instructed. He really did hate the idea of spamming the same attack repeatedly. There was no strategy to it but he'd already tried Psychic and Moonbast. What other attacks did he have?
"Sure thing, boss. Just remember not to let it hit me with another move like that." Mykel responded, still breathing heavily. Or perhaps he wasn't -still- breathing heavily. It may have only just begun. Lykas couldn't tell at this point. This battle was dragging on too long.

Surprisingly the slow and durable Pokemon was now showing signs of fatigue as it started to let out slow and drug out gasps. This was good. "Ugh...paralysis. Try Slack Off again, let's see who wears out first." The blue boy ordered. Will it work? (1 it works, 2 it doesn't.)

Lykas could only shake his head at this point. That blasted crab survived yet another super effective attack? "Mykel, give it all you've got! Finish it with another Thunderbolt!" He called to his partner. Mykel nodded and, psychic powers flaring up as he generated a static charge to fuel the blast, both the Pokemon and his trainer felt the surge of Celestial Chi rain down over the Fairy and heal him somewhat. This aided in the electrical generation by allowing him to focus his energy directly into the attack. Would the Wish from before healing him now be enough to finish off Slowbro or would it yet survive once more?
