Thorsten was glad that Monika had enjoyed the practical portion of the exam. It certainly explained why she continued. Of course the girl had received an EE on her exam which was yet another pretty big indication on why she hadn't left the class like most did.
It was yet another early Friday morning and Thorsten was preparing his second to last lesson of the week. Today he was going to dive right into the new material. Sitting at his desk as his students arrived, he hardly showed any expression as they took their seats. Getting up and going to the front of his desk, he leaned up against it before flicking his wand to the board revealing the subject topic on the board. “Good morning,” Thorsten greeted before getting into the topic. “Today we will be discussing the topic of Shades.” He informed them before the board wiped clean and a piece of chalk started writing the notes for the lesson. “I suggest taking notes down from the board.” He gestured before continuing on.
“Shades are not to be confused with ghosts. Though spirits, they are conjured by extremely rare magic. Appear more physically solid than a ghost, but less than a living body.” Thorsten told them as he walked around the room. “Rumor is the resurrection stone is one of them." He mentioned before continuing back up to the front of the room. "Shades are recalled souls of the departed, with no permanent existence. That said once the spell responsible ends, they evidently disappear.” He finished before asking. “Now, any questions?”

Getting up and going to the front of his desk, he leaned up against it before flicking his wand to the board revealing the subject topic on the board. “Good morning,” Thorsten greeted before getting into the topic. “Today we will be discussing the topic of the Waystation.” He informed them before the board wiped clean and a piece of chalk started writing the notes for the lesson.
“The waystation may very well be limbo. As mentioned back in first year it is place between life and death. It is possible to be the place where one decides to remain or go on. Its appearance differs to each person who visits and appears inside a person’s mind.” Thorsten told them as he walked around the room. “Being inside one’s mind makes it both real and unreal. Shades as discussed previous may appear to individuals in the waystation. These possible shades however appear more solid then ghosts, and able to be physically touched." He mentioned before continuing back up to the front of the room. “Now, any questions?” Thorsten asked as he leaned up against his desk.
Thorsten's early mornings had become a lot easier since Cornelia was sent to charms school. She'd never cared about being left with someone else however now she didn't have too. Mornings were certainly more lax for him which was nice. This class would be an easy one. As he didn’t plan on getting into any new material, just review. Not the most exciting class but for the rest of the year he knew it would be far more interesting.

I hope you had good summers.” Thorsten greeted before continuing on. “Since you had your testing last year, I'd like review.” He informed them.
“Was their anything you were unsure of?” Thorsten asked of them before adding. “One topic each please. Questions and comments are welcome.”

Faina Patrovna Slytherin Prefect │ Sixth Year │ Sixteen Years Old │ Single Dueling Club Captain
"Guten Morgen Herr Professor.Wie war dein Sommer?" asked Faina cheerfully, as she walked into Professor Eckstein's class. She'd done well on her OWL, and chose to continue with the class, rather than drop it. The Sixth Year had thought about it, and decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a NEWT in Ghost and Ghoul Studies, as it might come in handy to have the knowledge, as well as the thought occurred to her that if her application to be an Auror were declined, she might get employment on the Ministry task force which handled ghosts and ghouls.
Once the review started, Faina raised her hand, and asked, "I have a question, professor. How are Inferi created? As a follow-up, are they intelligent, or do they simply function on an animalistic level?"
Thorsten's early mornings had become a lot easier compared to when his daughter was a kid. Now that she was grown he didn't need to worry so much. Not the most exciting class but for the rest of the year he knew it would be far more interesting.
