"Not that one, either, Cutie," Keiko sighed when she saw a Slugma passing by. How many Fire-types were in this cave?

Keiko kept walking for a bit, but noticed a certain Fire-type behind her after a while. "Is that thing following us?" she asked herself, taking a few turns and picking up the pace in an effort to find something a bit more suited to her, as well as something Cutie stood a chance against.

Keiko was too busy getting away from the stalking Slugma that she didn't see the Morelull before tripping over it. When she started getting back up, she saw the mushroom Pokemon and reacted appropriately.
"NOPE!" she shouted as she put Cutie back in her ball. "Nope, nope, nope! I'm DONE with this cave!"
Keiko breathed a sigh of relief when she found herself in the main area, taking the opportunity to let Cutie back out of her ball. "Alright, let's see if we can find something that's actually decent around here."

"Well... you're not weak to it," Keiko said, looking down at the tiny Grubbin.
Cutie didn't seem interested in it, so she shrugged and continued her search.

Keiko had just about given up hope when she stumbled upon a lone Pokemon egg. It was strange that it was by itself, almost outside the grass. There certainly didn't seem to be any Pokemon watching over it.
Keiko was about to comment on it to Cutie when a loud cracking sound cut her off. At first, she was afraid she'd stepped on a second egg, but it didn't take her long to realize that the egg she found was hatching. A few more cracks, and a head peeked out of the top of the egg. "Togepi!"
"Awww!" Keiko cooed, overwhelmed at the Togepi's adorableness. I almost don't wanna make Cutie fight you, little guy. But I don't see your parents, and it'd be sad if you had to live your first years alone..."
The Togepi responded by reaching up at her, calling to her in Pokespeak. This made her squee even more. "Okay, I'll catch you. Don't let Cutie hurt you too much, okay?"
The second Cutie flew forward to face the baby, its tiny fingers immediately moved back and forth. It tried using Metronome, but Splash was the move it used, having no effect.
Keiko used the SNAG's Pokedex Entry on Togepi, discovering that it resisted Bug-type moves as a result. "Try softening it up a little with Fairy Wind, Cutie," Cutie responded by fluttering her wings, spreading Fairy-type energy toward the Togepi that would cause little damage due to the move not having much power behind it.
The baby Togepi's fingers would go back and forth again, but this time, a far powerful result occurred. The Togepi would leap up, grab Cutie, and throw her to the ground via Storm Throw. The attack would have seriously hurt Cutie if she wasn't doubly resistant to Fighting-type moves. But that's not to say that being at the business end of that Storm Throw didn't hurt.
Keiko was surprised by the move, so Cutie attacked on her own, kissing the baby on the cheek and reclaiming some of her lost health via DrainingKiss. When Keiko saw this, she was worried for the Togepi, but it showed itself to be very much alive, wiggling its fingers before drawing Psychic-type energy into itself via Calm Mind.
"This is a really tough baby," Keiko gasped. "Okay, Cutie, it just increased its defense to special moves, and it's still really healthy, so try using Dazzling Gleam. I know it's your strongest Fairy-type move, but the only way I'm going to be able to bring this Togepi home is if we reduce its health."[/'i]
Cutie hesitated for a moment, but eventually bathed the Togepi in a brilliant pink light. This seemed to do the trick, as the Togepi started wobbling, looking as though it were about to fall asleep.
"Please, let this work," Keiko whispered, not wanting to hurt the newly-born Togepi any further, before tossing a Safari Ball at it.

Keiko sighed as the ball containing Togepi popped open, letting the baby out of it. Cutie started to move toward it, to fight it again, but Keiko stopped her. "Let me see if this works," Keiko asked, revealing her only Luxury Ball.
Keiko gently tossed the ball at the dizzy baby, hoping that this would work. She didn't like the idea of having to weaken it further.

Keiko sighed in relief when the Luxury Ball finally stopped rolling. "Thank you for helping me, Cutie," Keiko said before recalling the Cutiefly. With that, she made her way out of the Safari Zone to await the announcement of the scores.

A Salandit came crawling from the nearby grass, Arkelos and houndour remained silent. The pokemon looked over and saw them, but wondered off without hesitation. "Well, that was an interesting pokemon. I'll have to keep a journal of what i find. Might come in handy." While writing about the Salandit, another pokemon shows up.

After writing down the Salandit information, Arkelos catches sounds of burrowing. Suddenly he hears his stomach growling. "I'm not hungry, i just ate a little while ago." Only a moment after, a nudge is felt against his stomach. "Huh? What on earth?" Rolling over on his side, Arkelos watches as a Grubbin appears from a hole. "Well hello there. How are you?" The Grubbin shots a sticky film at Arkelos' mouth, shutting him up. With muffled sounds, Arkelos scrapes at the webbing trying to open up his mouth. After a few moments of struggling, the webbing breaks.
"Why you little-" Looking around all that can be found is another hole, that pressingly was used as a get away for the Pokemon. "Well, good ridden." Moving to another spot the two sit next to a large rock.

It didn't take much for Mykel to find something rare, a very peculiar creature crawling about the rocks as he drew near to the shore. "Dew. Dewpi. Pider." It seemed to be singing to itself as he got closer.
"Dew...pi...der?" Mykel asked himself, giving it some thought. That must be what it was, he decided. He'd never heard of it before so it must be rare. He'd bet just about anything Lykas would like one of them, too.
Sneaking up on it proved to be a bit easier than expected with it singing the way it was, completely distracted by it's own entertainment. Deciding to try and get the jump on the small spider before it caught sight of him, Mykel held out his hand and let a singular rainbow-colored flower petal float out of it, off towards the bug on the rocks. It had to have been young since, upon spotting the leaf, it began jumping towards it, reaching out as if trying to catch it. When it couldn't, it began to blow bubbles at the leaf, trying to catch it inside of one.
Mykel laughed inwardly at the small insect's antics. It was so innocent it was cute. He almost felt bad for what came next. A small mental push released the latent power of the petal he'd created, unleashing a storm of Magical Leaf upon the Dewpider. The sudden rain of leaves sent the small bug scrambling, wide-eyed and fear-filled, unsure what was going on. "Aw, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" Mykel yelped as he jumped out of his hiding place behind a large boulder and rushed towards the tiny arachnid. As soon as he got close, however, Dewpider seemed to suddenly regain it's composure.
"Dew dew pi dewpider dew dewpi!" The spider raged at Mykel, shaking on of it's legs threateningly.
Mykel lit up at the sight of it. So cute! It couldn't have looked threatening if it had tried. Which he seemed oblivious to it actually trying to do. The little spider grew irritated with Mykel, the Gardevoir attempting to pick it up and hug it a moment after it's attempted threat.
"Dewpi!" The little spider grew ever more frustrated and ended up spitting a Spider Web into Mykel's face, causing the Embrace Pokemon to release it and step back, pawing at his face to try and remove the sticky thread. "Dewpipipi!" The spiderling laughed at Mykel as he staggered around, unable to see. When he finally managed to pull the last of the thread of his face and could see again, he opened his eyes to reveal, as Dewpider looked closer, eye that were bisected by a horizontal line, the top hemispheres blue and the bottom ones pink.
"That wasn't nice, you know..." Mykel warned, an indignant look on his face. The little aquanaut he'd found made a face at him and started to run off to the water's edge.
"Oh no you don't!" Mykel cried out, sending a miniscule Moonblast to throw the spider off balance. The arachnid gave a mighty leap just before the attack hit, flipping over and launching a Bubble Beam at its assailant and using the force of the attack to launch itself closer to the water's edge. Mykel Teleported a few feet away to evade the attack and then grabbed the Dewpider with Psychic, pulling it into a powerful embrace, holding on tightly. Or that was the plan at least.
Dewpider used Mykel's psychokinetic tug to empower it's Lunge, flipping itself around to tackle the Gardevoir with it's legs charged with Bug energy. The attack resulted in the both of them tumbling to the ground among the rocks. "Nice move." Mykel praised as he slowly stood back up. Now it was his turn. Rather than charging a single large blast and releasing it all at once, the Gardevoir decided to charge his Moonblast and release small "bullets" of the energy at a time, resulting in a prolonged attack without spending any more energy than he needed to. Dewpider wasn't having any of that, though.
For every Moonbullet that Mykel shot at it, Dewpider released a copy of itself with Infestation, the smaller duplicate taking the hit and vanishing without it's progenitor having taken any damage. The Water Bubble Pokemon skillfully leaped from one rock along the shore to another, deflecting Mykel's attacks one after another, slowly but steadily closing ground on the humanoid Fairy-type. Said Fairy-type was beginning to grow frustrated and, finally, released the remaining energy he was holding onto in a single, weaker-than-normal Moonblast. "Dewdew!" Dewpider chuckled as the Water Bubble Pokemon's bubble-enclosed head took on a mirror-like sheen.
Jumping toward the attack, Dewpider slammed into it head-first. The Moonblast and the spider halted one another's movement before Dewpider's Mirror Move caused Mykel's attack to rebound on itself, practically turning inside out as it flipped around and raced towards the Gardevoir with lightning speed and double the power.
"I wish I'd brought Lykas with me now...." The Psychic-type said to himself, throwing his arms up and building up a wall of Psychic energy in an effort to defend himself. It didn't do much good, though. The reflected Moonblast hit his wall of energy and, while it didn't do any extra damage from exploding like it normally would, it did knock him flat on his butt for the about the fourth time today. "This is getting old!" The Embrace Pokemon decided aloud, jumping up to his feet. Rather than attacking directly, he held his hands out at his side and released a pair of glimmering, rainbow colored petals into the air.
Dewpider already saw the attack coming, recognizing that leaf after the first time it had been attacked, and was releasing an Infestation to build up a wall of bugs to defend itself. This time, however, they were spiders. More like flies or gnats. A seemingly endless swarm of them emerging from the spiderling's water bubble and swarming around it. Mykel saw the effort as a good one but he knew he could get through it if he was careful. Releasing the restraints on his leaves, he released a Magical Leaf of doubled proportions. Twice the leaves in half the time, racing toward Dewpider in a wild whorl of rainbow-hued blades slicing through the air. Dewpider's Infestation held strong t defend against the attack, however. After a time, the leaves stopped and Dewpider released the energy keeping it's army of alituum swarming around itself.
Taking a look around and no longer seeing the Gardevoir that had been fighting with it, it assumed the Psychic had given up and left. Turning toward the water once again, it found Mykel standing only a foot in front of it, waiting patiently with a Moonblast already at full charge. "Good night." He said to it, a wicked smirk crossing his face as he released the attack. Dewpider was too close to react and took the hit head on. Mykel watched the spider sail through the air before tossing one of the Safari Balls floating around him at it with a small burst of Psychic. His aim turned out to be fairly accurate since he hit the Water-type with the ball before it touched the ground, protecting it from taking even more damage. Now, he waited to see if the ball would hold.
The ball pinged and stopped shaking before it ever hit the ground, which actually surprised Mykel. "Is that what they call a 'critical capture'?" He wondered as he pulled the ball toward himself with Psychic once more. About that time, his Wish from earlier kicked in. While no Lykas appeared, the energy he'd put into it returned to him, slowly healing the minor scrapes he had acquired from the fight.

Crystal would show up at the safari area not paying attention to the surroundings, but rather the paper she had in her hands. "So, Golett's around in here? Donne, what say you? Shall we try to make a new friends?" The floating metal hexagon right next to her would spin around before responding to her. "Right then. Shall we?" The hybrid would finally look up to see her surroundings, before pointing in a direction and moving on, the little Bronzor following her.
