Odd recalled Celesta shortly after her release due to Myrn's arrival and subsequent deflection of her attack, walking straight up to her and grabbing her by the front of her shirt, pulling her face-to-face with him, their noses only an inch or so apart. "You sneak into our home, kidnap my boyfriend, make us chase you halfway around the world to come get him back and now you want us to believe we're 'guests' and that Lykas isn't in danger?" He asked, growling the words out through bared teeth. "Forgive me if I can't trust you any further than I can throw you." He grunted as he shoved her away from him.
The female Milotic hybrid(as it might have become more apparent she was now that her disguise had been removed) turned on her heel, spinning and full 360 before stopping as she bowed, seemingly apologetic. "I was following Mother's orders. She wanted Big Brother and that was all. I was not told that his friends could come with him if he refused to come alone." She replied to the Snagems challenges. "Big Brother is not in any danger at all. Mother only wanted him to come home so that she could tell him about himself, about our family's history and to prepare him for something he may yet come to face alone." She attempted to explain, knowing full well that this lot was still not likely to take her apology. Not that she particularly cared what any of them had to say about her or her words.
"Whether you believe me or not, if you would follow me, I will lead you to where we can meet Mother and Big Brother. My other siblings will not attack if you are with me and I will be leading you. I cannot attack you without you seeing me do so if I am leading the way, can I?" She asked, turning her back on the Snagems and beginning to walk away. They were left with the option to follow her and be kept safe from further unexpected attacks or fight their way to an unknown location. Which choice made more sense.
"By the way, the soft spoken one makes the most sense out of you all." Myrn said over her shoulder, referring to Keiko, having heard what she said just as she turned.
~~~
"Hmm?" Lykas paused, a blip of energy suddenly becoming very clear and very present to his senses. Two, actually. "Odd? Sub?" He asked himself quietly. There were more but they were a bit harder to define at the moment.
"Are you alright, Lykas?" Amrita asked, tilting her head a bit in curiosity.
"Ya...but I think my friends found me." He replied, grinning now, expecting the Snagems to come charging across the island with awesome explosions left in their wake.
"Ah..." Amrita paused, seemingly attempting to seek out the energies Lykas had detected. "I see... It appears Myrn has approached them already. She will take care of and keep them occupied until we are done. We should not be much longer." She assured her hybrid spawn.
"There are three things to remember, Lykas." She told him as she shoo'd away her Slowking. "Seek out the Gyaan to find your new Master. We are descended from the same ancient peoples. He or she will know why you come to them. You are free to take the book or come here to peruse it as you see fit. Your siblings will not attack you." She told him. "And...Someday... You may be forced to fight It again." She warned him.
"Actually, she would probably want you to let her appearance fool you," I said in jest. "Makes it easier for her to take you by surprise at the last sec-"
I was interrupted by a hard slap on the shoulder, which I responded to with a light chuckle. "I'm just kidding, darling. You're a weak, defenseless cutie and I love you for it," I told her in a tone that made it beyond obvious that I was just joking.
"Shut up," Keiko said in a way that took all the fun out of teasing her. Normally, she sounded embarrased and maybe a little excited. This time, though, she just sounded annoyed. She was blushing despite that, though...
Odd followed slowly, choosing to release Celesta once more as he began to follow, the Mimikyu perching on his head and looking around as his personal sentinel just in case.
It wouldn't take long for Myrn to lead them across the island, out past the small collective of buildings, to a rather nondescript bay. "Mother said she would bring Big Brother here when they were done." She assured them. The sense of danger the Channelers in the group might sense, however, would likely give away that she wasn't being entirely truthful. Something in the water stirred, not revealing itself just yet, but clearly presenting an imposing threat.
"It's still out here?!" Lykas yelped, suddenly hyper aware of his surroundings. "And you live here, knowing it's still out there? Why?!"
Amrita laughed at Lykas' reaction but it quickly halted. "We have found a guardian to our home here. One who protects us from threats that we cannot defend against alone." She told him, leading hm outside now. "We are protected by the Dragon King, Poorv..." Leading the way, she began to lead Lykas toward the very bay which Myrn had led the others to already.
"What is it?" Lykas asked, still very aware of what was going on around him now.
Requiem of Whyspers Odd followed slowly, choosing to release Celesta once more as he began to follow, the Mimikyu perching on his head and looking around as his personal sentinel just in case. It wouldn't take long for Myrn to lead them across the island, out past the small collective of buildings, to a rather nondescript bay. "Mother said she would bring Big Brother here when they were done." She assured them. The sense of danger the Channelers in the group might sense, however, would likely give away that she wasn't being entirely truthful. Something in the water stirred, not revealing itself just yet, but clearly presenting an imposing threat.
Sub would follow after Myrn admiring the various buildings and their intricate carvings, each one telling a different story. If he had to wager a guess he would say that the carvings depicted the family history of the occupants of each one. Whether or not he was right was another story but he liked this idea so he stuck with it.
Thanks to his preoccupation the Dark One didn't sense anything wrong until they made their stop at the bay, the man looking out at the pristine water. He took note of the strange column which stood in the middle of the bay, all by its lonesome. It looked much too big to have once been part of some structure and if it was the remains of some forgotten building then he would have loved to have seen such a colossal construct.
Pointing to the large black column the Snagem leader would turn to Myrn to inquire about it, ignoring the lingering sense of danger for the moment. He just chalked it up to being in an unfamiliar place. "What's with the-"
"Gyaaa!" Roared a monstrous creature as it came soaring out from underneath the waves. It looked like a Gyarados but was easily twice the size of a normal one with sail-like fins, a much thicker body, and gave off a positively vile aura, Sub knowing well this aura it was giving off was that of a Dark-type Pokemon. The mighty leviathan, which could probably eat normal Gyarados if it so desired such a snack, would literally glide through the air for a bit before coming crashing back down into the water with a wave inducing crash, the impacting sending a surge of water at the Snagems which would make one thing a Pokemon had just used surge.
"What is that!?" Sub shouted as he watching the sea demon disappear back into the ocean, Pallas released without delay to pick him up and raise him above the coming waves. From his vantage point he would note that Myrn was gone, in fact there wasn't trace of any of the island denizens at this point, the Dark One just now coming to the realization that when they were making their way here he didn't see any citizenry, not even guards. This was a set up all along.
"It appears to be a Gyarados in its Mega Form, however this particularly one appears far oversized. I'm performing additional energy scans on its unusually large energy signature but it will be some time before I can pin point what exactly they are injecting this monster with to make it so massive. Either way, I suggest you look out." GRAY spoke up from their SNAGs.
Looking out was good advice as the massive Mega Gyarados surfaced again, this time remaining in the water as it fired off a ruinous Hydro Pump at the Snagems. Regardless if it hit them or not the powerful blast of concentrated water would carve the beach behind them, turning the land their found themselves standing on into an island in mere seconds. The power this thing possessed was unreal, it was like that of a legendary Pokemon. Why didn't he bring Registeel? Either way it looked like this thing wasn't going to let them escape as it just cut off their land escape route, with incredible ease, as if to make a point that it could chase them down if needed.
"Get behind me!" I yelled the second I noticed the Mega Gyarados, pulling Keiko behind me and letting Haku the Jangmo-o out of his ball. "Protect!"
As the Hydro Pump descended upon the group, Haku deflected the part of the tidal wave that would have struck it, keeping Keiko and myself dry as a result. Unfortunately, inexperienced as he was, he couldn't protect himself very well and took some damage from the move as a result.
"This doesn't mean they were gonna trap us!" Keiko shouted in panic, unable to tell the difference between a mutated Gyarados and an unaltered, Mega-Evolved one.
"Honey, wild Pokemon can't Mega-Evolve themselves," sighed, regretting joking around with her earlier as I was certain she was still hung up on that and now was certainly not the time to get into it. "They planned this."
"Fine!" Keiko shouted, letting Siri the Spritzee out of its ball. "Use Disable, Siri! Make sure that Gyarados can't use Hydro Pump again!"
Siri did what she could, connecting her mind to the Mega Gyarados's and trying to use Psychic Energy via Disable to prevent it from using Hydro Pump again. However, Gyarados was far, far more powerful than Siri, so who knows if it worked or not.
I could have said a lot of things at that moment. How Keiko got mad at me for not training my Pokemon, how Keiko kept harping about giving baby Pokemon time to grow before forcing them to battle... but I kept my mouth shut. Maybe if we survived this and got Lykas back to HQ safely, I could bring it back up. If I was feeling particularly brave at the time, that is.
"Huh. So, we're the sacrifices for this cult. Good to know. Sarlaac, return," she calmly said, recalling her Sandygast as Tatooine grabbed Aile and flew into the air, climbing even higher to avoid the Hydro Pump before returning to the Snagems.
"So... On a scale of one to ten, how screwed are we?" She looked down at her belt, taking note of each of the Pokémon in them. An Excadill, Sandygast, Nidoking, and Greninja. Aile shook her head and grabbed one of the Pokébals off of her belt, tossing it up and down. "I'm a bit ill suited for this myself..."
