Awesome job on that feedback, Wolf. It was perfect. You mentioned all the big points that the judges touched on and said it eloquently. You are also nicer than me. My sarcasm comes out when writing feedback lol.
I think I insulted a few people in round 3 by saying that their models looked fat XD

Haha, thank you! I’ve been reading more comments they’ve made in other threads and really tried to make sure my comments weren’t too mean or anything. Not that I think you’re mean, but yeah. XD

Challenge 5: Essentials
iiiFlames (Chloe) Score: 7.5 Comments: I love this design, including the mismatched browns because it seems realistic and almost bohemian. My issues are with the description. I don't like having to go all the way outside of Gaia to look something up. Hyperlinks work wonders. Also, although I get the correlation, it isn't explained WHY the k-pop group inspired her.
milk cap (Sheenah) Score: 8 Comments: Milk is one of those contestants I just love because she's learning. It's apparent in her designs that each submission is a bit better than the last. This is her best thus far. She's still not quite up to the skill of her peers (could practice colour matching and balancing a bit more), but she's growing - this girl has passion that's infectious. Also, a big kudos to her description that I gave a solid 10 to. It didn't miss anything, it didn't go on about unrelated nonsense and she told me what I wanted to hear. I won't lie, I thought she'd be gone in the first or second challenge, but the luck surrounding this girl is wicked and it could very well hold out until she's better than her peers!
Dante Dolly (Melissa) Score: 8 Comments: This outfit is a little simple for my liking. When using gowns, because they take up so much usable and creative space, you usually have to compensate with a lot of bells and whistles, which I think Melissa could have used more of. However, the colours look fantastic on the model and I just adored the description. I love it when designers embrace their models and give them personalities.
AmberEmma (Wanda) Score: 9 Comments: I love that she didn't shy away from the task and used a big legmod to overcome the empty space. She may desire a background for that desk to sit against, but I think it's marvelous the way it is. Leave the background transparent and we can see Wanda sitting anywhere in the world - add a background and she's stuck to wherever the needless item says she is.
Tink_Bel (Helen) Score: 7.5 Comments: When I make models, I try and add both an advantage and a challenge to their looks. In Helen's case, the challenge was making her look much more mature than the other models, hence the short cut, tired eyes and thinner lips, but her advantage was having the most feminine features of all the models. In all honesty, I think Tink bit off a little more than she could chew, tackling 3 challenges in 1. The colour matching rocks, balance is great, creativity is sky high and the colours do compliment the model ... but the style is so off for Helen's features that I find it distracting. The garment would have looked better on any of the other models or even as a stand-alone. A gorgeous, feminine, mature model wearing little boy's clothes ... Not my tastes.
HCTotorro (Nicki) Score: 8.5 Comments: Totorro understands the challenge like no other thus far and embraces the inevitable layering aspect that must be adopted when leaving out the background. The style is interesting ... It's not what I'd call fashionable, but I don't dislike it either. It's definitely not something I'd except to see on Nicki, whose proven to be a very diverse model.
Alesaan (Sarah) Score: 7 Comments: First of all, I appreciate Alesaan for touching base with us. I understand that Gaia was having issues and that is absolutely good reason for submitting a little bit late. I also like the description, as Alesaan's have been a little bit crazy in the past. The dress is beautiful, but I can't help but think the overall effect is clunky. The headpiece is so thick, it almost swallow's Sarah's small head.
elphiethesane (Chantal) Score: 8.5 Comments: I love this style, although I'm not sure I would have gone with the horns and tail. The outfit may have been complete enough without adding those two. The description was great and touched on everything I was curious to hear about. A solid submission.
x_suicide_is_inevitable_x (Ella) Score: 8 Comments: This is another situation where a dress made it difficult to add too much. It is gorgeous, but I want to see more. Without a background to add an additional several items to look at, the outfit needs more to it.

iiiFlames (Chloe) Score: 4.5 Comments: This is another one of those submissions that's just cute. I can read your description and watch the music video all day long, but you're not giving me anything to really work with here. It's normal. It's something I've seen a million billion times before. I don't even really want to critique it... On the positive side, the look works well with Chloe herself, even if the look is unfortunately bland.
milk cap (Sheenah) Score: 9.5 Comments: Wow, wow, wow, wow! I really love this! milk cap, you've outdone yourself. This look is fantastic and it's great on Sheenah and I love every bit of it - there's really nothing bad I have to say about this. The only thing I might change is the earring - there's a lot of pointed ears that work with jewelry, it's just a matter of looking. Love the use of the Scorned Cupid legs - those are pretty hard to pull off well, and you did it! (also, you might want to fix your hyperlink. Use a site a bit more reliable, like Imgur.)
Dante Dolly (Melissa) Score: 7.5 Comments: There's something missing here, and I can't quite put my finger on it. The composition works and the description is lovely, but... something's nagging at the back of my head that you could have done more. With that said, I love the comedy in the description and the little bit of worldbuilding you've done. From what I know of you, I think you work a little bit better with backgrounds than just clothes, and that's fine - that's what the challenge is for, after all, to challenge.
AmberEmma (Wanda) Score: 8.5 Comments: Oh, I really like this from you, AmberEmma. I haven't seen a lot from you that really blew me away, but this comes pretty close! Wanda looks sweet and breezy sitting atop her desk like that, and I'm reminded of sitting around after school waiting to be picked up. The description is a little lackluster, but Wanda as a model looks so complete that I can't really nitpick about that at all. Though I'd like to know why her skirt is clipping through the desk...
Tink_Bel (Helen) Score: 6 Comments: I actually like this. The color scheme works well with Helen and I like the look as a whole, but looking at it closer it starts to wobble a little, like a table that's got one leg slightly too short. The leg mod stands out to me the most as something that could use a change, and it'd have been nice if you'd broadened your inspiration to a more kiddy look, rather than a tomboyish one.
HCTotorro (Nicki) Score: 7 Comments: I don't know how you do it, but every look you come out with is so unique and not what I'm expecting at all. Not to play favorites, but I think your creativity and passion for the strange is what's going to carry you through to the end of this tournament. You've had some strong hits and some hard misses, but ultimately you keep coming back with more and more that just blows my mind. I love your description, and I love your personal passion for the project and the colors you use. However, in good conscience, I can't let your creativity carry me away. This is a great avatar - it's a fantastic avatar, honestly - but it doesn't tell me 'Nicki'. It tells me nothing would be different if you placed a whole different face on this model. I think you're the sort of person who likes to challenge themselves, and I respect that a lot, but I think you could have challenged yourself to find something that worked with your vision that worked with Nicki's hair, too.
(all that said... i love the pun title. give me more of those! wink )
Alesaan (Sarah) Score: 8 Comments: Oh, wow, this is stunning. To be honest, I've always wanted to find a way to make the Reine Magd dress work too, and you've done it really well here. With that said... while it is incredibly beautiful, it doesn't scream Sarah to me. Even so, Sarah's features do complement the look, and I can let it slide this time. I'd have liked to see a bit more blue around the rest of the design, rather than just what's on the dress.
elphiethesane (Chantal) Score: 8.5 Comments: I really like this look - it's got a rounded, complete look to it, with a strong theme and matching description. However, I'd have liked to see more color - I don't really like monochrome themes in most cases. It would have been nice to see some blue, or maybe a red that complements Chantal's hair.
x_suicide_is_inevitable_x (Ella) Score: 5 Comments: I like this. I do. I know the pain of not being able to find a good bouquet for a wedding look, and especially one in that particular color scheme. I like how the look works with Ella, and I appreciate your description and attachment to your model. But it's average. The look, the feel, the colors... it's all average. I want to see color. I want to see composition. You had the world at your fingertips and you used, what, four items in two colors? Maybe a leg mod that we can't see? You could have used a bouquet of pale yellow flowers for contrast, you could have given Ella a more interesting arm mod or a more interesting dress with movement, you could have themed it around a runaway bride... There's so much you could have done, and you didn't.

iiiFlames (Chloe) Score: 7 Comments: This is cute, and it's an effective look, though it may be a bit..normal and pedestrian? That isn't always a bad thing, but in this situation it just leaves me feeling a bit 'meh' and ambivalent towards it. The description did nothing to help it, actually hurt it. It does look good on Chloe though. The score is only 7 though because I don't think there's anything truly bad enough to take away more points, but I expect more at this stage.
milk cap (Sheenahl) Score: 9 Comments: This is my favourite look milk cap has done. Her growth is impressive, and I really enjoy seeing it. This is a great look, and a fantastic description. Could be a couple changes here or there, some color changes or changing the earring, but I love it over all.
Dante Dolly (Melissa) Score: 8 Comments: I love the description and the personality she's given to Melissa each week. That color is absolutely gorgeous on Melissa too. But this is just a little too simple for me, and there's something lacking. Maybe it's just because Dante has gone above and beyond week after week? I think even just changing the white fur wrap to a different color to really stand out from her hair might have been enough to feel satisfying.
AmberEmma (Wanda) Score: 8 Comments: I love the use of a leg mod and the desk to sit on! Love the story of being a student on a desk, and loved that the description didn't need to tell me what I was seeing. More from the description and the skirt not clipping probably would have increased her score. But this is still great.
Tink_Bel (Helen) Score: 8.5 Comments: I love this color scheme on Helen, and I like the tomboy look for her and everything. But as good as the ideas and desires were for the look, it just misses the lock a little bit. The leg mod is a bit off, and the shorts look kind of diaper esque, and I'm not sure if it's because of the leg mod or something else. That all said, I bumped it up a point because I just really like it, and personally I'd like to see more like it.
HCTotorro (Nicki) Score: 7.5 Comments: Nicki was immediately recognizable as a partner to his avatar, and I liked that. There are also a lot of details in this avatar in a small amount of space and without a background, which is something that I love to see. It does feel a little unbalanced to me, and I think the outfit is a little overbearing on Nicki? I see the outfit, I don't see her, and I should. I think a few small changes could have been made and this would be more unique to Nicki.
Alesaan (Sarah) Score: 6 Comments: The dress is absolutely gorgeous, and it's hard to work with. There is just too much going on with the avi for me. The head dress/back veil is just too heavy on her head and Sarah looks like she's drowning.
elphiethesane (Chantal) Score: 8.5 Comments: This is a lovely look, I love the retro vibe and the way the hat works with the hair and covers it up a bit. I like the horns and tails, they're cute, but I don't think they add to the look. Don't think they take away either, but they definitely don't add. And I'm not sure I believe Chantal as a demon? But I really can't complain about much from the look to the description.
x_suicide_is_inevitable_x (Ella) Score: 7 Comments: In the past suicide has used pops of color to really emphasize the look nicely, sometimes they were little surprises to draw the eye and other times they just balanced things a bit. But here everything is just so matching that nothing seems to really pop. It is an absolutely gorgeous dress, but I think it looks heavy on Ella. There's just something that is so lacking here for me.

Ultrabord's submission will not be judged this round as it is 2 days late. However, I do appreciate the intention. She wants to be in the competition and doesn't want to be eliminated for non-submission.
Double eliminations are not effective until after this round as it's not fair to establish a new rule like that in the midst of a challenge. Also, this is her first offense, and I don't believe it should be held against her.

Challenge 6: Let's Go to the Hop
Tink_Bel (Helen) Score: 6.5 Comments: Tink knows the colours to use with Helen. This colour scheme is no different. The blue/green/turquoise used really brings out Helen's eyes, one of her best attributes. However, after being liberated from backgrounds last challenge, I find myself immediately thinking that this looks too busy. Helen's waist looks like a jumble of textures that I honestly can't distinguish from the background unless I'm zoomed to 230% of my screen (It could just be me - perhaps I'm getting old). I also think the description leaves something to be desired. This is a trend with a lot of our designers, so a notice is going out.
HCTotorro (Nicki) Score: 7 Comments: Here's a good example of a background working to the favour of the designer. It adds that little accent that helps the motif along. The design is alright. I think the concept was strong, but the delivery was weak. A different skirt could have helped immensely, as well as doing away with some of the hair stuff. A small bow or headband would have looked cleaner. And contrary to what Totorro believes, Nicki, one of my favourite models, looks best in colour. Pinks and reds shine bright on her and compliment her eyes and skin.
iiiFlames (Chloe) Score: 6.5 5.5 Comments: Scoring this was a total mess. Overall, it looks pleasing to the eye, but upon further inspection, it's as if she used 3 items. She put on a dress, added a background and added a date. Not to mention, the background has nothing to do with prom. Either change the background to make it less fairytale or make it clear in your description that the moment was so magical that it transported Chloe to a different state of being where prom takes place 'over the river and through the woods'. I will also admit that I am also getting sick of the cutesy looks. (Edit: Fixing up the description raised it by 10%. It's still not a perfect 100, but much better than it was beforehand.)
Alesaan (Sarah) Score: 6.5 Comments: Alesaan's description is 40% information I want to know and 60% filler words. I am also a writer and an avid story-teller so I can appreciate Alesaan's passion, but when judging several entries, this kills me. I am a lazy person! The design itself is interesting and got very good scores in creativity. It's weird, but I don't necessarily dislike it, either. Two changes would be the light blue of the skirt in favour of something darker to match the background a bit more. The second would be the headpiece(s) used. Go ahead and bedazzle her face, but a single line of accents would do instead of four.

Tink_Bel (Helen) Score: 6.5 Comments: I'll be honest, I'm getting a little tired with the etoile scheme challenge after challenge on Helen. It looks great on her, it really does, but there are other colors in the rainbow and other colors that would work with Helen, Tink! The outfit itself doesn't sit right with me, but I think it's just because of the dusk rose parts, they seem out of place. Aside from that, this is... decent? I don't hate it, anyway. The description could use a bit of punching up, but honestly it's... again, decent. I just can't bring myself to get super excited about colors I've seen so much before on Helen.
HCTotorro (Nicki) Score: 8 Comments: I actually like this look quite a lot on Nicki! I'd have liked to see more colors, and the background throws me a bit, but altogether it's a solid, stylish outfit with a clear, coherent theme. There's a clear sense of movement in this submission, like Nicki could start grooving and dancing where she stands, and I like that a lot! I agree about Nicki in earth tones as well, though I do like seeing her in rich, deep colors.
Sana Minatozaki (Chloe) Score: 6 Comments: This doesn't say 'prom' to me. The problem is that this is a good look for Chloe, and I like it well enough, but it's simply outclassed by the other contestants due to the fact that it doesn't really denote a prom look to me, just a date look. The description, however, is good, and illuminates on your story and thought process, which is great - but it's just not enough to bring this submission up to where it needs to be.
Alesaan (Sarah) Score: 8.5 Comments: I LOVE this look on Sarah, and I love the story you've given to the description, and your dedication to writing all of that out... but it's just too long! It made it prohibitive to read(even though I did eventually end up reading all of it...) and ended up making me have to dock a point. Your creativity is incredible and the hardships you face in trying to work with Sarah's tattoos is something I know I couldn't do myself. The more I looked at it, the more appreciation I had for it. As for the outfit, the Yemaya's Pearl tiara could have been swapped out for something a bit more light, but really that's my only nitpick here - you've crafted a really wonderful scene.
Dante Dolly (Melissa) Score: 9 Comments: The thing I like the most about this look is the sheer creativity. I don't like the fact that most of Melissa's body is obscured, but it works with the theme of the submission in a way I can't complain too much about. The description is solid, and ties together the submission - overall, it's a good product, but in good conscience I can't give it a 10.
milk cap (Sheenah) Score: 7.5 Comments: Maybe it's the lack of a background, or the weird halo, but something about this seems off to me - that said, the skirt layering is lovely, and I like the description a lot, especially considering the sense of personality you've given Sheenah and her outfit choice. She looks sassy and a bit casually triumphant here, as if she's shown up everyone else. However, there's a sort of plainness to it, that makes it not really stand out.
AmberEmma (Wanda) Score: 9 Comments: I like this dark twist on the usually-cute Wanda! The avatar tells a cohesive, thought out story and gives me a clear image of Wanda laughing behind her hands as she's crowned prom queen. The Choice Poison legs are a personal favorite of mine as well, and only serve to enhance her triumphant pose. The roses are a lovely touch as well. Solid work.
Ultrabord (Danielle) Score: 8 Comments: There's something about this background that throws me, and I'm not sure what it is... That aside, this is a stunning look on Danielle, and the only thing I might change would be finding a different legmod, perhaps with gold shoes or with a sense of movement, like she's doing the Charleston. Other than that, this is really good.
elphiethesane (Chantal) Score: 9.5 Comments: I'll be honest, I'm glad someone gave one of the models a female companion(even though she looks a bit weird next to Chantal's corporeal self). What you could have done to punch up the description here is to offer why Chantal's date is dead, perhaps given her some creature features and called it a monster prom - aside from that, I LOVE this look on Chantal! One of the big challenges to work with is her fancy updo, but you've really made an admirable work around it by giving her a classy hat and dapper look, and it makes her stand out clearly among the other models.
x_suicide_is_inevitable_x (Ella) Score: 7 Comments: I love the colors in this look, and it's really nice to look at -however, it doesn't say prom to me. It evokes images of a sunset and late night butterflies and while the description illuminates this particular part of the piece(despite it being another giant text wall... seriously, longer doesn't mean better!), I don't see the part where it relates to a prom. Your personal experiences are fascinating, but telling a full story about you doesn't tell me about Ella's experience. Also, minor nitpick, but you're not supposed to wear makeup, and I see that La Belle Maquillage.
As much as I'd like to complain about companion items, I really can't... Gaia's not too good with those, and all the more recent ones are from the Destination Date CI. So I won't be docking points for those.
Most of the submissions were really good this time around, I'm impressed.
