TOP SCORES;
elphiethesane with 9.13
Darkerdemons with 8.75
The Dread Wolf with 8

BOTTOM SCORES;
Destined Savior with 2.63
DAVlD DUCHOVNY with 5.13

There were a lot of high scores across the board this week and a lot of stronger looks, and a lot that were also very middle of the road. I think we go with elphie for the win though, and say goodbye to Destined this time.

Agreed! Was stunned by how in sync everyone was this round as well, not as many polarizing opinions as usual. The designs were very strong this time. 3nodding

Darkerdemons (Rae)
Score: 6
Comments: Those glasses are a terrible choice. It makes her jaw so exaggerated to the point where it looks like she has a major underbite. They also do some crazy things to her eyes (which are her best feature and should never be covered!). She looks completely different from her actual self. I had to zoom in to 250% to be able to discern that her presets were right and to figure out what shes wearing.
The outfit is fine. It works together, just like they wanted it to. Unfortunately I had to actually cover her face with my finger to not be too distracted by her weird face.
(im not sure but is her armmod skin A or F?)

Pianette (Jiang Li)
Score: 8
Comments: Holy background batman! It is so distracting! I want to look more at the background and less at the model.
I don't really see a stocking here, yet the look is influenced by it? I wish they had emphasized it more with a stronger legmod so we could see what they were really intending.
Love the hat, structured shirt, and skirt. I know it says shes a tailor but that hat and the clutter in the shop is defiantly giving me haberdashery vibes. The glasses work well.

Sana Minatozaki (Abby)
Score: 6
Comments: A travel photographer using a camera phone? I don't think she'll be selling any prints anytime soon.
The background is so bright and colorful and evocative of springtime, yet Abby is bundled up in bulky layers! Really not liking that jacket. Wish there was some rust north of her torso. The blue bag was a good choice to compliment her eyes. It does kind of feel like Sana did just what they said they did. Threw a bunch of stuff on her and then called it done.
(are they ever going to tone down all the formatting in their description?)

elphiethesane (Ophelia)
Score: 6.5
Comments: Glad they addressed the repeat hat (which im tired of seeing at this point; its not a good hat)
I haven't really figured out how I feel about this look. Its fine, I guess. I dont like the glasses. It doesn't really seem cohesive. The shirt is more laid back yoga hippie vibe, while the legs are rocker chick with those heels. The hat says skater to me and the bag seems more gothic. The glasses say early 2000s reality tv star.

sufjan stebens (April)
Score: 7
Comments: I always like the pomodoro crop top and that dog is adorable. However, all the white is just a little underwhelming. She is so pale, I would have liked more colors in her clothes and not just the fanny pack. The colors that are there do work together well without using a color scheme. Outfit is cute.

Ultrabord (Ginny)
Score: 4
Comments: First time where we can actually see ginny's face! Shes a cutie. However, the look is way too simple. The couch seems tacked on since it looks like shes ready to head out the door with her shoes and purse on. Also, they did not compensate for ginny's hair so she looks so small and frail with that big head of hair behind her.
Bad description.
(why are there 6 views?! I thought they knew better by now!)

METTAT0N (Lucia)
Score: 6
Comments: This definitely looks like a different Lucia than we are used to seeing. I had to disconnect the previous entries from this one because the difference was making it hard to see what Metta had made, which is pretty amazing in, and of, itself. I kinda wish the background was more fleshed out instead of the white vignette, so the scene could really be set. Also, no one has abs while slumped in a chair eating pizza and it kind of bothers me that she has them, mostly from a "female beauty standards these days" way.

Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce)
Score: 8
Comments: I love that they went with those legs. They make a statement and add a fashion element to an otherwise simple outfit. One of the things i'm not sold on is the teal shirt. I'm torn. I personally don't really like it, but when I think of clothes that young people are wearing today, they aren't afraid of colors and whether of not those colors work with the others. So I guess that color helps make it feel young and modern.
I'm also torn on the hat. It goes well with her hair, but her head and body seem disconnected.
I think they took 'no color schemes' a bit too much to heart by not allowing themselves to match any colors.
No title.

RENstrawberry (Robin)
Score: 7
Comments: Kinda simple. A little frumpy up top. I could totally see myself wearing this (maybe not the boater hat tho). The pose works thematically, but the bare legs v. the bulky sweater and hair make this very top heavy. There is so much going on up top and then just boom, nothing.

DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara)
Score: 0
Comments: No entry

Toshi Yukiko (Sienna)
Score: 6
Comments: Same shirt as Sufjan, same legs as Ren.
Using pretty much all Amaranth and white which is the "sweet" color scheme.

Haji Demon (Uma)
Score: 7.5
Comments: This is really cute. I love the casual nature and im not mad at that speech bubble. It must be hard to work with that hair, but it totally works all together. Not a fan of that 360 view as it shows the hat is purplish and really doesn't work with the outfit. Also, black and white are easy colors to work with together and are technically the "classic" color scheme.
(why are there 6 views?! I thought they knew better by now!)

The Dread Wolf (Isabelle)
Score: 9
Comments: I've never really thought of Isabelle as a cowgirl, but it was an interesting choice to make. As is, this is giving me more of a Coachella vibe and less of an actual working farmer. The white flower headband is bland. I wish there was a pop of color there instead.
I do like the legs and belt. The fringe vest was a fun idea and the sad sheep makes me happy.
Nice pun!

Challenge 4: Casual Friday

Darkerdemons (Rae)
Score: 3
Comments: I'm reluctant to give Demons any points at all because I think the base on Rae is wrong. You can tell by looking that's either the vampire skin or one of the head modifiers. The jaw is obviously several pixels longer, and if I'm wrong on this it's one heck of an optical illusion and they deserve the point drop for not catching it either way. Add on to that, the arm mod is the wrong tone and this is just a mess. Which is a darn shame because the outfit is good. It's not the best of the lot, but it's decent. The bike is cool, I like that they went a different direction with this, but some things went very wrong.

Pianette (Jiang Li)
Score: 7.5
Comments: The look is pretty and seems to suit Jiang Li. I actually love all the elements Pianette put into the background, because it looks like the work area of every seamstress I've ever met–cluttered. I like how the whole look has an almost old-timey feel to it. That said, while I like the dress the corset piece feels almost off-center, like it doesn't align right with the shirt and skirt. Also I thought the leg mod was just the wrong skintone and didn't realize until the description that it's supposed to be hosiery. I wish the description itself had covered more about the look and less about the inspiration, but overall descriptions have been looking better of late.

Sana Minatozaki (Abby)
Score: 5.5
Comments: At first glance this is cute and a little less overwhelming than some of Sana's other looks. That said, the longer you look the more it falls apart. Again with Abby in weather disparity with backgrounds. Is it warm or cold? Either way, why does she have two light jackets? She has one she is wearing and one tied around her waist, which just strikes me as odd and excessive. Egg already said it, but I don't get travel photographer from this, Instagram photographer maybe. More than anything I just find myself annoyed by Sana's description again. Formatting for one thing, but also don't tell me you suck! I'll decide that for myself. It feels like compliment fishing and that's so weird in a competition. They're just setting themselves up for "Oh wow! I'm actually amazing!" if they get praise, and "See, I told you I suck!" if they fail, which is not conducive to improving oneself.

elphiethesane (Ophelia)
Score: 6
Comments: This look feels the most like the stuff I see my friends wear. Jeans with whatever top they grabbed first, that expensive, ugly pair of sunglasses their bf bought them, and their fandom bag. That said, it does feel very middle-of-the-road. The hat is the worst part and not because it's an item repeat, it just feels out of place. This one is suffering the inverse problem as Ren, where the look is mostly warm then BAM random blue hat. I don't think our designers really understand that mismatched looks work irl because they have some other underlying component that makes them cohesive.

sufjan stebens (April)
Score: 7
Comments: I actually think this is one of the best looks we've seen on April, but good lord I wish it wasn't so white. In general, I feel like April has been in lots of pale or off-putting colors and I'd love to see some rich greens, browns, or purples on her. That aside, the look says warm weather, it's consistent, and the use of pose and space is refreshing. I always like seeing a companion that doesn't look misplaced too, so props for that. Overall, just a little underwhelming.

Ultrabord (Ginny)
Score: 5
Comments: It's refreshing to see Ginny's face for once. I like a lot of single components of this outfit, the problem is that most of them don't go together. The actual outfit could have looked nice in a different setting, or the couch could have worked with a more stay at home outfit. The bag adds a third layer of confusion. She's a little top-heavy because of the hair. I don't think anything about the clothing looks bad aesthetically, it just doesn't tell a story or seem very cohesive, which makes it seem slapped together.

METTAT0N (Lucia)
Score: 4.5
Comments: This is the weirdest looking entry this round for me. Lucia's whole body looks squashed. She seems to be hovering, her legs don't look fully connected to her body. Honestly, I thought we'd see more entries with the models lazing around their houses so props to METTA for being unique in that department. The colors are nice and the idea is clear, this one is just having the opposite problem Ultrabord had.

Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce)
Score: 7
Comments: Huge win for Tinfoil on those legs! So refreshing to see one of the models with legs they could actually stand on, and they really suit the casual theme. I really don't care for that hat, but it works. The shirt is way too saturated for the rest of the outfit and stands out really poorly. Other than that this is a solid look.

RENstrawberry (Robin)
Score: 9
Comments: What a pretty look! I'm probably bias, because this is my sort of casual fashion, but I adore the whole thing. Little shorts plus heavy jacket is very stylish and the whole outfit has a good flow to it. My only issue is the legs. The feet look teeny-tiny compared to the rest of the look, like they could barely hold her, and the color is wrong too. She was fashionably mismatched in all of her cool colors and then along comes bright red. Ick. Description is solid, but awareness doesn't save a point loss on the shoes.

DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara)
Score: 0
Comments: wahwah no entry

Toshi Yukiko (Sienna)
Score: 5
Comments: Return of lollipop head! Tiny arms and tiny legs make Sienna a top-heavy girl. Legs and top have been done. Repeated elements are getting really tired by this point in the game and that goes for all designers. Gaia has a plethora of items, there is very little excuse. The pinks are okay and the concept is fine. Nothing about it is glaring so much as just underwhelming.

Haji Demon (Uma)
Score: 4
Comments: I get insanely disoriented when I look at this. Uma seems crazy lopsided. I feel like she might fall over or something. Her hair isn't helping this effect, and while Haji can't do anything about that, they are supposed to work around it. That arm mod is designed in such a way to make it appear like the hands are in pockets, but the layering of the shirt and tininess of the shorts makes it look like the ends of her fingers are chopped off instead. Purple hat doesn't match anything. I think all of this is a shame because I love the punkish angle, the use of gum, the background, even individual elements like the top and legs. I just don't think this came together well.

The Dread Wolf (Isabelle)
Score: 8
Comments: Ooof, I really like Isabelle this week. She's so pretty and sweet looking. The colors are great and earthy, she doesn't hurt my eyes anywhere. The only down side is that I feel like it barely fits the challenge. I wouldn't have gone farm girl for Isabelle at all purely because of that hairstyle being hugely inappropriate for farm life, but I feel like Dread could have sold it better. This is really more of a Coachella or hippie at a concert look, which could have worked with the same look, but a different setting. I've been on a farm and she's going to get choked out with all that fringe and jewelry on. Also she appears to be topless under that vest–ouch. Gives me Darcie's Wild Life vibes though, so thanks for that! Description is good, but I'm just not sold, still won't deduct much for it though, it's a good look.

Hoping I can get to judging tomorrow! Getting through it...

Challenge 4: Casual Friday

Sana Minatozaki (Abby)
Score: 5.5
Pros: This fits the criteria for a casual look. The outfit works well with the model, and it fairly well balanced.
Cons: For lack of better words, this look is a bit...boring...it looks like pieces were just thrown together, and this initial judgement was confirmed by the description. I feel like the description was also reaching for context that wasn't apparent in the design.

Pianette (Jiang Li)
Score: 7.5
Pros: I enjoyed the personality given to the model through the outfit and description. The browns and reds work well with the model's presets.
Cons: The legs really disappear and the more I look at them, the more disconnected they look. The bright red corset paired with the maroons in the rest of the design is off-putting. The design is very cluttered in general.

Ultrabord (Ginny)
Score: 3
Pros: There is a good balance of color throughout. The outfit works well with the model.
Cons: First of all, there is almost no description. The look is plain and meh overall. I don't understand the context of a lot of the items used; it looks like she's about to go to the gym, but she's also hanging out in front of a couch? Looks very quickly thrown together.

Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce)
Score: 6
Pros: I really enjoy this look overall. The outfit works very well with Bryce's presets. The pose looks natural. Definitely fits the casual criteria.
Cons: The blue shirt doesn't fit with the dark, earthy tones in the rest of the design. The description is lacking and doesn't give a whole lot of context.

The Dread Wolf (Isabelle)
Score: 8.5
Pros: Very good distribution of color. One of the more creative entries for this challenge. The outfit works (surprisingly) well with the model. I really enjoy the personality given to Isabelle. Really just another solid entry from Dread.
Cons: As much as I love the sheep, it is a little awkward. The color of the crop top makes her look like she's actually topless under the vest. There's a weird layering issue with the shoulder and the hair, but that's nick-picking at this point.

sufjan stebens (April)
Score: 7.5
Pros: This is a really cute look, overall. I appreciate the natural pose and how well the arm and leg mods work together. Good description that have personality to Abby.
Cons: The layering of the dog is a little awkward, but can be overlooked. I felt like this is a little too reliant on matching colors and whites. The crop top is weirdly layered with the arm mod.

Haji Demon (Uma)
Score: 5
Pros: The design gives personality to Uma that doesn't need a description to understand, which I really appreciate.
Cons: Her head looks GIANT compared to the rest of the body. The pose is a bit awkward. Especially with the background, this design is very cluttered. The description leaves much to be desired.

Darkerdemons (Rae)
Score: 5
Pros: The matching of the hues of all the colors is wonderful.
Cons: The head. What is happening with Rae's head? I can't even tell if the right presets are used. Other than that (which is hard to see past) the arm mod is a bit awkward, too.

Toshi Yukiko (Sienna)
Score: 4
Pros: The pose is very natural looking.
Cons: The model completely fades into this dark background. If you squint your eyes, all you can see is the outfit.

elphiethesane (Ophelia)
Score: 8
Pros: The pose is natural and gives context to her personality and overall demeanor. The outfit is balanced and I really appreciate the re-occuring themes and textures uses throughout.
Cons: It's overall just a bit stagnant...I wish elphie gave more in the description or design to give Ophelia personality and character.

RENstrawberry (Robin)
Score: 7.5
Pros: The natural tones chosen work well together and with the model. The background works well with the outfit. The pose is natural and realistic.
Cons: I don't love the legs, they look small and awkward in comparison to the rest of the design. The sparkles were not needed and take away from the natural look of the rest of the outfit. There isn't much of a personality given to Robin, just a description of what is happening in the moment.

METTAT0N (Lucia)
Score: 4
Pros: A good take on casual that other designers did not take. Colors work well together
Cons: She looks like she's floating in front of the couch, not sitting on it. With the abs and arms, she just looks awkward and misplaced. Description leaves much to be desired. With Lucia's unique presets, I was hoping for more personality and style given to the model.

DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara)
Score: No entry.
Pros: No entry.
Cons: No entry.

I went ahead and crunched the numbers and it looks like Dread has the highest numbers with Pianette and Ren tied for second.
It seems obvious that David will be the one eliminated.

What are your thoughts? Does Dread winning and David going sound good?
Do either of you want to write the comments for the feedback?

1. Darkerdemons
6 + 3 + 5 + 5 = 19

2. Pianette
8 + 7.5 + 7.5 + 8 = 31

4. Sana Minatozaki
6 + 5.5 + 5.5 + 6 = 23

5. elphiethesane
6.5 + 6 + 8 + 8 = 28.5

6. sufjan stebens
7 + 7 + 7.5 + 7.5 = 29

8. Ultrabord
4 + 5 + 3 + 5 = 17

9. METTAT0N
6 + 4.5 + 4 + 5.5 = 20

10. Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes
8 + 7 + 6 + 7.5 = 28.5

11. RENstrawberry
7 + 9 + 7.5 + 7.5 = 31

12. DAVlD DUCHOVNY

Thanks for keeping things running, egg! I'm cool with Dread taking the win (she led by a fair bit) and obviously DAVID going home.

I wrote up the comments for this week. I tried to incorporate everyone's opinions as much as possible. If either of you want me to make changes let me know, otherwise I can throw these up tomorrow.

Edit: Added the formatting!
Edit 2: numbering was wrong

1. Darkerdemons (Rae)
Positive: The colors of the outfit are really well done and look great on Rae.
Negative: The judges struggled to concentrate on the positives of your look because the head looks so warped. We're unsure if the base was modified or wrong or if the glasses are just not doing Rae any favors. The arm mod was also notably disliked and possibly the wrong skintone.

2. Pianette (Jiang Li)
Positive: This outfit is lovely and the concept was strong. The vintage look works wonders on your model!
Negative: Judges were split on if the background elements were charming or clutter, but everyone agreed the legs on Jiang Li seemed to disappear and that her bright red corset didn't fit well with the rest of the look.

3. Sana Minatozaki (Abby)
Positive: The outfit is on theme and some of the elements were very cute on Abby.
Negative: Abby looks bundled up and it doesn't really match the background, travel photographers don't usually use camera phones, and the formatting in your description still needs to ease up. Mostly the judges felt underwhelmed.

4. elphiethesane (Ophelia)
Positive: Good use of recurring themes and textures! The colors are mostly balanced. Ophelia looks very relaxed.
Negative: You lost points for the hat, but not because it was a repeat. It's unappealing to some judges and for others the color just didn't work with an otherwise warm-toned mismatch scheme.

5. sufjan stebens (April)
Positive: The outfit and pose are adorable, good description, and nice use of negative space!
Negative: April is too pale for so much white and this was the number one complaint. The arm mod and crop top layer a bit odd with the top cutting through the upper arm.

6. Ultrabord (Ginny)
Positive: It's nice to see Ginny's face and the clothing looks nice on her.
Negative: Crop your entries! There is no cohesive story. Couch and gym bag and simple outfit make it seem like things were just sort of thrown on. Description barely exists. Judges were bored and underwhelmed.

7. METTAT0N (Lucia)
Positive: Good job going a different route than everyone else with the challenge! Colors are soft and balanced.
Negative: She looks like she's floating and the combination of mods and abs makes Lucia's body look squashed and awkward. In general, the judges wanted to see certain elements (the background, Lucia's personality) better fleshed out so we could get a feel of who she is.

8. Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce)
Positive: Those legs were a winner across the board! Despite a simple appearance, Bryce looks relaxed and stylish.
Negative: That teal shirt is too saturated to match the earthy tones of your look. The hat was met with mixed results. Your description was a bit lacking.

9. RENstrawberry (Robin)
Positive: Most of the colors really flow and look great on Robin. Several judges thought the look was wearable irl. Excellent choice of background.
Negative: The red shoes don't work with the otherwise cool tones, and in general, the legs look too small to support the upper portion of the model. The sparkles take away from the natural look of this entry.

10. DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara)
Positive: no entry
Negative: no entry

11. Toshi Yukiko (Sienna)
Positive: Sienna looks very relaxed and casual per the theme.
Negative: The model fades against her background and her head looks overlarge with all the tiny mods. She's dressed in the "sweet" color scheme. Several repeat items from other designers this round, which is not going over well at this point in the contest.

12. Haji Demon (Uma)
Positive: Your look has a lot of personality! You managed to use a background and a bubble without it damaging the look.
Negative: The judges were split on the critique. Half felt the pose was lopsided and the look was cluttered, while the others saw the black and white scheme and mismatched hat as the prime issues. Everyone agrees you need to crop your entries.

13. The Dread Wolf (Isabelle)
Positive: A really interesting and pretty entry! You surprised us with the theme in a good way and the colors are very rich on Isabelle. She matches perfectly without relying on a scheme.
Negative: Feels more like farmer chic than actual farmer. The sheep is adorable, but looks a little out of place. A few small elements hurt your score, like the lack of color in the flower crown and the illusion she's topless under her vest.

Looks good! I'll start writing out the next challenge, when should I post it?

Wolf always seems to do everything simultaneously.
Changing the challenge/models, leaving the feedback, and making an announcement for the winner and new challenge.
If you want to handle all of that, go for it!
If not, you can just post it here and either Dante or I can get it done.

Heres my question: When is the deadline for the new challenge?
