Challenge #6: When You Wish Upon a Star
Designers, everyone has a phase where they dream of being royalty, and some people
never stop having that dream. The Judges have it on good authority that your
Models all want to be Princesses for a day, and we aim to please. Refer to the
image and link below, and dress up your Model like their favorite Disney Princess.
For this challenge only official Disney Princesses are allowed. Due Date: Mar 23rd

BloodAngel95 — Bryce: 73%
S:7 • C:5 • M:10 • D:7
Comments: Going with Merida here was the obvious, though
perfect choice, and I'm glad Angel went with it. It was an easy way to
exploit Bryce's natural features in the challenge. That being said, I'm of
the opinion that going for the easy choice means that the design has to
be stepped up, and I feel it's not in this situation. The scene is boring,
predictable, and simply too easy. Plus, half of Bryce is hidden, so the
work done on the garment comes second to the background and foliage.

clowniing — Rhiannon: 93%
S:9 • C:9 • M:9 • D:10
Comments: Oh no! It's finally happened, guys ... A look just so
beautifully ethereal and serene, that it's soothing the snarkiness and
sarcasm right out of me! What can I say except: Bravo — this is divine. I
adore the sea of blue hues here, and the fin colour is superb. I'm even
enjoying the background! Rhiannon's colour is obviously blue, right? I took a
mark off of the motif, only because it's more 'fantasy mermaid' than it is
'Ariel' ... and I'm a nit-picky b***h. Style and creativity could have been maxed
if Clown had used something like a sunbeam to lighten up part of the photo.

Detrimentum — Helena: 85%
S:8 • C:8 • M:10 • D:8
Comments: I don't even mind that this was a predictable cosplay choice, as
it was done so well. I really love the choice of giving her a half-background. It works
so well to set the scene without it looking too busy. Frames good — backgrounds
bad! What's kinda distracting are the arms. Are they fully gloved? Because it looks
as though they aren't, and the tan tone looks like a skin colour that doesn't match.

Dickjoke — Talia: 80%
S:6 • C:7 • M:10 • D:9
Comments: I'd say this is a mid-entry. It's by no means the best we've seen from
d**k, but the motive is absolutely clear, and there are a lot of cute, creative equipables
that hearken to the look and the theme. Like their last entry, this comes across as simple
looking, despite the effective use of items. Sadly, I think the background is a bit too loud.

Haji Demon — Maritza: 70%
S:5 • C:6 • M:8 • D:9
Comments: I'm not a fan of the bright, bold (lack of) colour scheme on Maritza,
but at the same time, it's clear which Disney princess is being represented, and I
appreciate that. It's just a very busy look, which overwhelms my eyes, and I don't know
where to avert my attention. Haji could have used some serious editing in this look.

HELLPRIEST — Seren: 85%
S:9 • C:8 • M:8 • D:9
Comments: I like it. I really do. More and more, I find that Hell speaks to my
particular aesthetic, which is a great personal victory. I even like the use of a
background here (I'm a sucker for the whimsy and ethereal). But I can't say that the motif
was crystal clear on first look. And I loved the description, but still could have used more.

ICLite — Lulu: 83%
S:8 • C:8 • M:10 • D:7
Comments: Honestly, this look is so simple, and yet I'm gagging
for it! The delicate, feminine features Lulu has are on display in this
mild expression. It's as if the Model herself was the goods to be sold.
However, I would have done away with the animal sidekick personally;
Instead opting for lights or sparkles to really sell home the scene.

mythological irony — Sumati: 88%
S:8 • C:8 • M:10 • D:9
Comments: I appreciate that Myth chose a princess that fit her Model, rather than
the other way around, like some other Designers. This was a clear choice for Sumati,
and she wears it well. Thanks to the description, I upped Myth's creativity mark, though
I wish they'd added a bit more personal information into their design journey.

Neapolitangirl — Ava: 83%
S:7 • C:7 • M:10 • D:9
Comments: Is it an obvious choice? Of course it is. But it's still done fairly
well. Nea was right about the choice capturing more than just a racial tie — Ava
and Tiana share a spunk! As well, they manage to encompass a lot of the small
details we notice on our favourite, froggy fairytale princess. I would've liked
more green on the bodice, and perhaps more vibrant golds to match the tiara.

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie: 76%
S:8 • C:6 • M:8 • D:9
Comments: Okay, so this is beautiful, albeit a bit on the simpler side. To be fair,
I think this is one of Aubrie's best looks, but it does feel unoriginal in item choice.
Like, it seems like more cosplay than I was hoping for. I really do like the use of fat
jewellery, though. And despite being mostly covered, the addition of Raja is adorable.

smol bab — Amren: 70%
S:5 • C:8 • M:6 • D:9
Comments: I appreciate the effort put into the description, despite the lack
of paragraphs. I can also see the effort Smol put into layering the fabrics of the
dress, which is to her benefit. But my sensitivity stops there. First, I had no clue
what princess they were going for until I read the description. Second ... I just
don't like the look. The shape isn't flattering on Amren, the colour scheme doesn't
really compliment her natural palette. And then there's the difference between the
garment and the background that's unsettling. Maybe if she'd prettied it up a bit ...

Ultrabord — Esther: 85%
S:7 • C:8 • M:10 • D:9
Comments: The way Ultra styled Esther was perfect. I got the theme
immediately when I looked at the photo. I must say that red, white, black and
gold really make Esther's features pop in the best possible way. However, I
personally feel as though the sidekicks detract from the overall image. I
could maybe live with the horse, but the addition of Mushu definitely takes
away from the seriousness of the gorgeously placed armour.

Challenge #7: Be Gentle
Designers, things can start to feel stressful at this point in the competition,
and we want to encourage everyone to take a deep breath, relax a little, and
dress your Models up in your favorite pastel colour theme. Beyond that one
instruction, you can do whatever you want with the look. Due Date: Mar 23rd

BloodAngel95 — Bryce: 60%
S:5 • C:7 • M:7 • D:5
Comments: Angel is a storyteller now ... *sigh*. Look, it's not that I don't
appreciate hearing how the setting sets a scene ... But this was long and rather
redundant. Sorry. But speaking on the outfit, I actually really do like it. The
colours are nice, and the shape gives Bryce a hot silhouette. What's killing the
design for me is that atrocious background. If they'd ditched the surroundings
for some well-placed pastel decor, their score would be much higher.

clowniing — Rhiannon: 83%
S:6 • C:8 • M:10 • D:9
Comments: I love the concept, I love the style, I love the creative use of space,
I love the holiday relevance ... I just don't love the colour scheme. The yellows and
(barely) greens look excellent against Rhiannon's ebony flesh, but the pinks and
blues really degrade the colour cohesion — and those colours dominate the frame.

Detrimentum — Helena: 80%
S:8 • C:7 • M:9 • D:8
Comments: I love the concept that went into this idea a lot. And I like the
connections Detri made in Greek mythology. Also, as an ethereal look that
pulls at my heartstrings, there are a lot of aspects I enjoy in the flourish of the
actual outfit. But it's both too simple of a look, and not simple enough. I really
feel more could have been expressed with the use of background decor,
rather than a wall-to-wall canvas. Also, it would have balanced everything out
a bit more if one or two of the colours had a more saturated hue.

Dickjoke — Talia: 80%
S:7 • C:8 • M:8 • D:9
Comments: Description's a little long, but I got all I needed from it. Also, while I like the
theme, it's my opinion that there's just a bit too much black breaking up the pastels. As well,
the desk, while a smart choice for the motif, it's not so good for the style, as it obscures a
decent amount of the wardrobe. But it's fun — it's cute. The entry is good overall.

Haji Demon — Maritza: 76%
S:6 • C:7 • M:10 • D:8
Comments: Wait a minute ... do I actually love this background?! Am I
down with this entire setting, or am I losing it?! Either way, it's beautiful and/
or I'm completely insane. Seriously, the colour scheme is so beautiful. I love
how it blends, dipping into other colours and hues with ease. However, the
problem with this is that I wish Maritza weren't there. Her garb is boring AF.

HELLPRIEST — Seren: 93%
S:10 • C:9 • M:10 • D:8
Comments: I knew Hell was gonna bring it for this challenge, as
pastel seems to be a big part of their design tastes. Honestly, I love the
use of a fair background; Keeping things just a little off-white to set it apart,
but not overloading the simple, yet effective use of background decor. I
took a point away in creativity for this look only because their other entry
had a similar theme. And again, I could've used more in the description.

ICLite — Lulu: 76%
S:7 • C:7 • M:10 • D:7
Comments: Going rainbow is ALWAYS a ******** win! And I appreciate
that Lite added some deeper tints into the mix to break up the very light,
clearly 'iridescent' items. This is a masterclass on how you break up monotony,
whilst also keeping to theme. Though, while it fits theme perfectly, I'm not really
sold on the style of the garment. Let's face it: It's just not really very Lulu.

mythological irony — Sumati: 76%
S:7 • C:9 • M:6 • D:9
Comments: It's a nice overall image ... but I want more pastel in the
challenge whose only rule was to use pastel. Like, I actually enjoy the
background decor a lot (even the background is passable), but hardly any of it
is pastel. She used the pastels to break up the darker, duller tones instead of
vice-versa. However, Sumati still looks gorgeous, and the silhouette suits her. I
would've axed the face shadow (Y so dark?) and hair bow (Y no match?).

Neapolitangirl — Ava: 70%
S:6 • C:6 • M:9 • D:7
Comments: Doing pastels on a dark-skinned Model can be tricky, because
there are very few colours that lessen the colour contrast between skin pigment
and scheme ... Nea managed to avoid all of them (yellow, green & purple). She also
opted for lighter tints over dark, which was another mistake. Like, she interpreted
the challenge well, and she made a cute outfit — Just not one to compliment Ava.

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie: 76%
S:7 • C:7 • M:8 • D:9
Comments: In this entry, I like what I see — I just want more of
it. The colour scheme is an interesting one, but it's very limited. I
would much preferred if Shiro had ditched the log cabin background,
and opted for more pastel colours to envelope her Model.

smol bab — Amren: 80%
S:7 • C:8 • M:10 • D:7
Comments: The background isn't your favourite, you say? It isn't mine either! So
then why keep it? Other than to add clutter, the background does nothing. The same
setting could have been achieved with flower decor, which there is a lot of. But whatever —
moving on. The colour scheme is to theme, and the colours do mesh beautifully together.

Ultrabord — Esther: 93%
S:8 • C:10 • M:10 • D:9
Comments: This could have easily come off as campy with Ultra's heavy
frog influence, but instead it was very cleverly executed. I'm impressed. Not
only does it feature a beautiful pastel scheme, but the colours really do look
nice on Esther. My biggest critique is that I would have loved to see one or
two more pinks — Perhaps in the shoes or some foreground flowers.

                    BloodAngel95 — Bryce: 42.5%
                    Style:4 • Creativity:3 • Motif:5 • Description:5
Comments: This..exists. It..sure. It's Merida. I know it. But it could be SO MUCH BETTER. Green is the wrong color, and with the background chosen it blends in way too much. And having Bryce hiding behind a tree? Merida would never. That yellow circlet looks like nothing I've ever seen on Merida. And I googled things to make sure. And I could forgive the dress color if it was in the same style. But it isn't. This is Bryce dressed like Merida dressed like a sexy Robin Hood. I don't need Merida to be sexy, but also, you covered up things so it isn't all that sexy even though you say it is girl. Circlet is also the wrong color of gold for the outfit, especially compared to everything else. Idk. This just..meh.

                    clowniing — Rhiannon: 75%
                    Style:9 • Creativity:5 • Motif:7 • Description:9
Comments: This is so freaking beautiful. One of the more beautiful entries of the competition. But absolutely nothing about this says little mermaid. Knowing it has to be a Disney princess, sure, it has to be the little mermaid. But for this challenge I needed SOMETHING that matched to the original. A green - or even teal - tail. A purple bra that red purple and could be seen a little more. I might have settled for a little yellow fish or a crab. I just..this is beautiful. But it is not what I wanted to see for this challenge.

                    Detrimentum — Helena: 65%
                    Style:7 • Creativity:5 • Motif:7 • Description:7
Comments: Cinderella was a smart choice. The framed background is kind of a nice element, adds just a little bit of a dynamic element reminiscent of the ball but nothing too major or heavy, the shape also vaguely reminds me of a crystal ball which has a fantastic element. Shape of the dress is very Cinderella. However. I don't really like this. The gloves on the arms come off as dirty more than gloves. The foot we see is colored in a smooth glossy way that makes it look like a different color from the rest of her skin. The chosen blue in general is too dark, making Helena look dark in a way that just doesn't suit the look. A lighter shade of blue would have suited things better and read as more Cinderella.

                    Dickjoke — Talia: 70%
                    Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:6 • Description:8
Comments: On the flip from clown's entry, there is no doubting this is inspired by the little mermaid. But where clown took the inspiration and made an incredible couture design that just stretched a little too far...this entry is...plain. This is Talia dressed up for a last minute Halloween party where she only has what is in her closet. And the skirt might be a sheet. A curtain. A blanket mayhaps. It's cute. It's pedestrian. It is so very simple. I disagree with the choice to swap the crab to orange, I think red would have suited things better, because the orange just kind of clashes with the hair for me. Idk. This is just wah wah.

                    Haji Demon — Maritza: 85%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: This was one of the first entries finished, and I loved that I knew who the princess was immediately. I love that Haji went with Moana for Maritza when she is a princess that really compliments her, I'm proud of Haji for working with the model instead of against her, just smart. And there are so many elements from Moana here, I love it. However I would have liked a degree more of creativity, because as it, it feels just a little bit too much like a costume. A very very good costume.

                    HELLPRIEST — Seren: 72.5%
                    Style:8 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:6
Comments: This is the better Cinderella entry. It is a bit more cerebral than I would have liked, but it is good. It is pretty, it is the shade of blue that Helena should have been in. I would have kept the cloud but lost the other background. It isn't needed. And honestly takes it away from being Cinderella. Something about the face is weird? Don't love the hands. But it's a good look.

                    ICLite — Lulu: 67.5%
                    Style:8 • Creativity:4 • Motif:8 • Description:7
Comments: Snow White would not have been my first choice for Lulu, but it really came together. Could have done without the sunlight beams, and I could have done without the horse, but it does fit the over all princess vibe. This is not very creative though. There was research done, some details included, but it is pretty straight forward.

                    mythological irony — Sumati: 97.5%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:10 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Listen, Ultra's look was near perfect. This one is better by a hair for me. I would lose the full size background and keep the leaves, and I'd do without the fog. But other than that? I wouldn't change a damn thing. The creativity and thought behind building the top?? Genius.

                    Neapolitangirl — Ava: 67.5%
                    Style:7 • Creativity:5 • Motif:8 • Description:7
Comments: Why the hell does everyone love having dark avis this cycle? If this was just vibrant I think I would have liked it more. I like the thought and description, the dress isn't a terrible silhouette, it just..it could have been so much better. There are so many items on this website in the vibrant green of Tiana's look. And frankly, I would have LOVED to see more flapper inspiration. Especially with this being the second Princess and the Frog look. Though, that said, this is the better one.

                    ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie: 87.5%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: I am honestly so proud of Shiro for this look. This is amazing. This is clearly Jasmine, and while there are certainly some creative liberties taken, this is the first that feels right. It is a beautiful execution of Jasmine without being a straight cosplay costume, and I love that. Love the tiger. Something about the particular color scheme chosen and how it is colored seems kind of odd against Aubrie's skin, and I think I could have done without the background.

                    smol bab — Amren: 72.5%
                    Style:5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7 • Description:9
Comments: A picture should be worth a thousand words, meaning a description should be a nice enhancement - a behind the scenes - but I should never need the description to get a look. And I needed the description. I fully respect smol wanting to put Amren in a look that wasn't so obvious or expected. However. This just..doesn't hit for me. I do not like the silhouette. The color scheme doesn't connect for princess and the frog. Amren is so sweet compared to the spirit of Tiana. I do like the background, and this is a good description.

                    Ultrabord — Esther: 92.5%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:9 • Description:9
Comments: I think this is as close to perfect as was possible to get for this challenge. From adding Mushu and the cow horse, to taking inspiration from the real world, this was clear immediately who it was supposed to be and I think it was the perfect princess choice for Esther. I do not like the sun glare, and honestly, I could do without the background. But those are just the most minimal of nitpicks.

                    BloodAngel95 — Bryce: 65%
                    Style:6 • Creativity:5 • Motif:8 • Description:7
Comments: Angel had a goal, and the goal was achieved I suppose. Reading the description, I see the story. I don't love the story though, or the background. Don't love the bubblegum theme for Bryce. It almost seems like it is fighting against her rather than working with her. But it is a nice enough outfit.

                    clowniing — Rhiannon: 90%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:9
Comments: Another fantastic entry from Clown, this was just a really great week for them. I love that despite Rhiannon being one of the darkest models and having blue toned black hair, there was no shying away from pastel. No adding anything dark to balance. Rhiannon is just an adorable Easter bunny. Easter isn't the most creative thing, but it is timely and I can't really fault anyone for having it and spring on the mind for a pastel challenge. I wish the gloves weren't white, because with them being white and the background hitting where it does, I lose her hands.

                    Detrimentum — Helena: 95%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Excellent. I wish the pose looked more like she was floating or flying in the sky? But I love that she went with a pastel rainbow, love how Helena looks, love all the details in the description.

                    Dickjoke — Talia: 80%
                    Style:7 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: I think the glasses were a genius choice, and of all the dark backgrounds, this one makes the most sense. I wish the outfit wasn't blocked so much. Good description. I also think the pastel colors chosen suit Talia very well, and I'm glad she worked with the model so well.

                    Haji Demon — Maritza: 87.5%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:8 • Description:8
Comments: I am so glad that the background remained pastel, though it does blend in together a little bit at the bottom? But that's just nitpicking. This is a beautiful look.

                    HELLPRIEST — Seren: 85%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:7
Comments: This is a near perfect pastel look. I'm glad there wasn't a background, I like that it is a complete look, just wanted more from the description. Little bit more of the why, but this is great.

                    ICLite — Lulu: 82.5%
                    Style:8 • Creativity:9 • Motif:8 • Description:8
Comments: If this was a shade lighter, it might have earned a 10, but it just isn't...quite pastel enough for that. But I love the idea of the look, and the commitment to it. I wish a little more had been done to cover some of the hair, or decorate it more.

                    mythological irony — Sumati: 65%
                    Style:4 • Creativity:8 • Motif:5 • Description:9
Comments: ********. Forgive me. As much as I love the princess entry? I don't like this one. I respect myth's design style, and I respect that this is very much her design style. But I hate the face choices. I hate the background and roses, it's all just too heavy and weighs the look down. And it almost pisses me off because the pastel outfit itself? Looks beautiful. Looks like it could have stood tall and proud on it's own, and been amazing. But I'm just distracted by everything else.

                    Neapolitangirl — Ava: 62.5%
                    Style:7 • Creativity:6 • Motif:7 • Description:5
Comments: Ava is cute, and sherbet is a good color scheme for her. I like the little cheeks, and the adding of white to the look. But for saying she made decisions to keep the look from looking messy....it is very cluttered. I don't know why the flowers were added to hang around the frame, or why there are things (rabbits?) on the hat. All makes it feel kind of messy. And there are soooooo many sherbet items on Gaia. So many themes. The lolita theme is inherently kind of cluttered and maximalist, so again, if you want a non-messy look that is an odd choice. Frankly this was dragged down by the description.

                    ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie: 77.5%
                    Style:5 • Creativity:9 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: Aubrie looks adorable. Love the color scheme chosen and all the thought that Shiro put into the colors. The description was lovely, and there is no denying there was creativity and thought put into this. But it is a pastel look. And the pastel is overwhelmed here by the very dark background. By the black ribbons and things in the outfit itself. I'm almost positive there is a white cabin version of the item she chose that would have been better, and there are certainly other cabin options that would have suited things better.

                    smol bab — Amren: 60%
                    Style:4 • Creativity:5 • Motif:7 • Description:8
Comments: I don't like this. The color is great for Amren, and I suppose the outfit itself is fine. But I'm having a hard time actually looking at any of the details. I don't like the background. But the biggest problem is this is so damn similar to their other for entry this week.

                    Ultrabord — Esther: 77.5%
                    Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: This is good. Ditch the background - and the filter if the filter was separate - and let the outfit shine. It just comes off as a little...bland? It's pastel, but the background is so cool toned and shaded with things, it isn't...it isn't the pastel aimed for. It's just distracting.

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie (Total Score: 33 pts. // 82.5%)
Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:8
Comments: This color scheme on Aubrie's skin is pure perfection! I appreciate the Indian influences incorporated into the look. We love to see a designer do their assignment here. It's a solid take on Jasmine, and the entry does read as what's intended to embody, but the more I look at it, I feel as though there's something missing. Maybe taking on a scene from the film with the look would've amped this entry up. Gorgeous as it is, I would've preferred to see a scene from the film to be paid homage to.

Dickjoke — Talia (Total Score: 30 pts. // 75%)
Style:6 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: This is what I expected to see in this challenge. With the colors chosen, it does read Ariel. The accessories and background pays homage to the film, which is nice to see. Though Ariel's rocking green from the waist down, this reads more Ariel compared to clown. Accuracy of this entry aside, it is getting overshadowed by how beautiful the other Ariel (Rhiannon) is.

Haji Demon — Maritza (Total Score: 37 pts. // 92.5%)
Style:9 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Moana is Maritza. Maritza is Moana. This is a superb take on Moana. The details are on point and is accurate to the movie. The description helped amp up the entry even more. Even using the zOMG! Water Sprout as the embodiment of the ocean is genius. I would've appreciated to see Maritza more glossy, skin-wise, to add more to that beautiful melanin skin. That aside, this is a strong entry from Haji. Dare I say, strongest to date.

Neapolitangirl — Ava (Total Score: 34 pts. // 85%)
Style:8 • Creativity:9 • Motif:9 • Description:8
Comments: This is the better Tiana, comparatively. The color's swampy than it is bright leafy green, but the color is beautiful on Ava. Tiana as Ava was a good choice. The Bayou background is so good with the outfit. I appreciate the flapper flair to the top and headpiece, which is nice to see, and is accurate, in terms of when flappers were a thing. I can't pinpoint what I need added, or what I want more from this entry, but something feels amiss. Maybe Tiana's frog prince would've been a nice touch to add, but I'm not mad at this entry. Pretty solid, I might say.

clowniing — Rhiannon (Total Score: 32 pts. // 80%)
Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:5 • Description:8
Comments: Style-wise, this is my Roman Empire. This is otherworldly beautiful. The blue on blue just works with Rhiannon. I love the homage to the actual book, as opposed to the Disney version. Clown does her assignment well. My only gripe is that this doesn't read Ariel. Beautiful as it is, it's a Disney-themed challenge, give me the essence of Ariel that I know and love. The choice of not incorporating Ariel's colors hurt clown's motif points.

HELLPRIEST — Seren (Total Score: 28 pts. // 70%)
Style:9 • Creativity:10 • Motif:3 • Description:6
Comments: This is a similar case to clown's where it's beautiful, but not accurate, docking away motif points. The lack of why's in the description didn't help HELL either. Beautiful as this entry is, and a good princess of choice aside, this doesn't scream Cinderella. Maybe only the color choices, sure, but the colors aren't enough to tell us this entry is Cinderella. Not even the background scream Cinderella. Good princess choice, beautiful outfit, but not an accurate depiction of Cinderella.

Detrimentum — Helena (Total Score: 34 pts. // 85%)
Style:9 • Creativity:9 • Motif:9 • Description:7
Comments: Detri knows how to style Helena, and this entry is a solid proof of that. Come through, melanin Cinderella! Lack of gloves aside, this is a great take. Though, description-wise, I would've loved to hear more as to why Detri chose to do Cinderella, apart from Helena fitting perfect as the princess. I wanna hear what Cinderella means to Detri. This is a Disney-themed challenge, your childhood. Give me a peek to little Detri's history with Cinderella.

smol bab — Amren (Total Score: 26 pts. // 65%)
Style:5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7 • Description:6
Comments: I'm on the fence with this entry. This color scheme is pretty on Amren. When reading the description, everything makes sense. But, take away the description, and I'm left confused. The overall look doesn't scream Tiana all the way, the dress is not flattering on Amren, and the description mentions some details of the outfit that I can't see (e.g.: the vines on the legs). However, I do appreciate smol taking a different route with this challenge, given her princess of choice, but the execution of the entry is so-so.

mythological irony — Sumati (Total Score: 39 pts. // 97.5%)
Style:10 • Creativity:10 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Out of all the entries, this is the most accurate-looking to one's princess of choice. Pocahontas was a perfect choice for Sumati, and this outfit is ACCURATE! It was a smart move on myth's part to not include Pocahontas' companions because with how windy and lively the background is, it would've cluttered their entry if they were there. I would've preferred the leaves to have more variety of colors, to remind us of that beautiful shot of Pocahontas with the gust of wind, blowing leaves/petals with beautiful sunset colors, but I still love what I see regardless.

ICLite — Lulu (Total Score: 33 pts. // 82.5%)
Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:8
Comments: I couldn't see myself Lulu being any of the Disney Princess, so seeing Lulu as Snow White was a cultural reset for me. I don't know how to say it, but Lulu as Snow White somehow makes sense. The lack of reds in the dress doesn't bother me, seeing as how Lulu's red hair fills it in. I can't explain how, but it makes sense. The apple tree was a nice homage to the poisoned apples. The critters + Prince Charming's horse is nice to see as well. This is a solid entry from Lite. This is nice.

BloodAngel95 — Bryce (Total Score: 29 pts. // 72.5%)
Style:5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7 • Description:9
Comments: With Bryce's hair, choosing Merida was a good choice on Angel's part. The dress is flowy and looks easy to move around in, perfect for our archer princess. The background was a good choice as well, given the majority of the movie took place on the forest. My gripes on this entry would be the color choice on the dress. Merida wasn't rocking any green dresses, only light and dark blue dresses or a crown for the majority of the movie, and the fact that Angel knew that but proceeded with green and crown was not the best choice. And with how much green there is around Bryce, it is camouflaging our princess. Style-wise, sexy isn't a word I would describe Merida, nor her outfits. Lots of choices made, some were good, but most are questionable.

Ultrabord — Esther (Total Score: 39 pts. // 97.5%)
Style:10 • Creativity:10 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Being the only Mulan entry, Ultra has a big shoe to fill. And fill the shoe they did. Ultra came through with their research, by blending in elements of both the animated and live-action to the outfit, with the historically accurate armor, depicted in the live-action, and the animal companions that we know and love from the animated movie. This is the strongest Ultra entry I've seen yet!

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie (Total Score: 27 pts. // 67.5%)
Style:6 • Creativity:7 • Motif:7 • Description:7
Comments: They mention on their description that they're not leaning towards cute, yet this looks screams cute. Normally, that wouldn't be a bad thing, but if that's not what you're going for, it's gonna hurt their points in terms of style. The outfit itself isn't the most exciting, nor is it executed as well as I would've liked it to be. Once again, another case of "cool concept, so-so execution" for Shiro. Compared to their Disney entry, this is a letdown.

Dickjoke — Talia (Total Score: 37 pts. // 92.5%)
Style:8 • Creativity:10 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: The entire entry reads girl streamer playing late at night. Out of all the pastel entries, Dickjoke's entry has pulled off a concept, that, not only is it recognizable but it's somewhat relatable. Though, this does read similar to cynicalsix's entry where I barely see the outfit. I do still see the outfit, but maybe take one plushie or pillow away so we see more of the fit. But I like what I see, and the accessories work well with the gamer concept.

Haji Demon — Maritza (Total Score: 32 pts. // 80%)
Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:10 • Description:8
Comments: Flowers on flowers on flowers. The outfit is pretty. Very flowy, perfect for strolling around the garden. By itself, this entry isn't the most exciting nor out of the box, but comparing to myth's, this is the better flower-themed entry. Maritza looks beautiful, as always. Though, the flowers on her head can go, seeing it being an odd color compared to the scenery. It is somewhat cluttered with how much flowers there are, but this is the type of clutter I don't mind seeing.

Neapolitangirl — Ava (Total Score: 32 pts. // 80%)
Style:5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: The outfit reads Japanese Lolita café maid, which is super cute, and makes sense with pastel. I would've loved to see Nea add bows or clips to Ava's hair or hat, but it does still read what it's supposed to be giving. Their concept does read well, and it's adorable to look at, but this is an apparent case of "great outfit, wrong model". I don't see this look for Ava. Nea needs to lean more into sleek and chic looks, seeing as for the past weeks, her outfits for Ava are always along the lines of girly and flowy. I want to see Nea's versatility.

clowniing — Rhiannon (Total Score: 38 pts. // 95%)
Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: This look is very fitting for Holy Week, which is a smart move. Lots of thing clown did this entry is smart. Rhiannon as an Easter bunny is so adorable to see, and this outfit is no less. I'm a sucker for yellow, but I'm down bad for pastel yellow, and the fact that clown mainly used pastel yellow as their color choice is already a win in my book. The cottagecore influences added into the look reads well with the Easter theme. There's a lot of positive remarks I want to say to this entry, but to summarize it, this look to me is EVERYTHING AND MORE!

HELLPRIEST — Seren (Total Score: 35 pts. // 87.5%)
Style:9 • Creativity:8 • Motif:10 • Description:8
Comments: This is how you do a cute concept! A predictable take on pastel, but the execution of the outfit is what sold me. This reads decoden through and through. This cute tomboyish fit is Seren-coded, and I love it. If you're gonna do cute, do it like this. More of these type of fits, please. Though, if I were to nitpick, I'd add more background stuff to accentuate the decoden concept more. But, regardless, this is a well-executed cute look.

Detrimentum — Helena (Total Score: 35 pts. // 87.5%)
Style:7.5 • Creativity:8.5 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Seeing as how the Greek goddess Iris always get associated with rainbow colors, this entry makes sense. The coat is so grand and flowy., and the staff is very fitting with the goddess Detri's embodying with this look. Though, I would want more goddess-like or deity-like items added into the entry, maybe wings would've been nice to see. The headpiece is barely visible, so adding more or replacing it with a different headpiece would've helped as well, but the halo makes up it. The clouds background makes sense with the concept they're going for, so I'm into it. Overall, a solid pastel entry from Detri.

smol bab — Amren (Total Score: 29 pts. // 72.5%)
Style:7 • Creativity:5 • Motif:9 • Description:8
Comments: Cute and cute and cute, through and through. The outfit does give out florist picking out flowers for their flower shop vibes. They did the assignment, and I can tell smol had fun with pastels. I am somewhat peeved that smol only went with just being cute, as opposed to adding a concept that was unexpected of pastels. But I do like what I see, and it is cute. But, that's all there is, just cute.

mythological irony — Sumati (Total Score: 24 pts. // 60%)
Style:4 • Creativity:5 • Motif:7 • Description:8
Comments: For a simple concept as flowers for a pastel challenge, I expect the execution to be flawless, and this entry is anything but flawless. I get that pastel is not everyone's cup of tea, but considering the high stakes at this stage in the competition, I want to see polished and well-made looks, and this entry from myth doesn't do it for me in the slightest. The questionable make-up, the bow with the flower crown that doesn't mesh together well, the really bulky flower frame background. Lots of choices that shouldn't have been made, and those choices mentioned above are just some of the many.

ICLite — Lulu (Total Score: 28 pts. // 70%)
Style:7 • Creativity:5 • Motif:8 • Description:8
Comments: Another cute look... What I do like about this is the see-through dress that gives us a peek of Lulu's snatched body. The outfit is very bouncy and comfy, and it does somewhat fit Lulu. I would remove the antenna headband, though, seeing as it doesn't layer well with Lulu's hair. This is similar to smol where it's just cute... I'm fatigued with all the cutesy take on pastel. Lite played it real safe, and I can't help but feel bummed out.

BloodAngel95 — Bryce (Total Score: 37 pts. // 92.5%)
Style:9 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: Call me crazy, but this entry hits for me. The look reads lady in a first class cruise. The hat, the skirt, and the coat works well together without looking too much. I would've preferred the bodice without the bow, given how much there's a lot to look at everywhere else, but the simple skirt somewhat makes up for it. The entire vibes of this entry screams cruise vacation through and through. And the manga/anime touch with the effects and chat bubble adds a lively touch to the look. This might be my favorite Angel entry yet.

Ultrabord — Esther (Total Score: 30 pts. // 75%)
Style:7 • Creativity:6 • Motif:10 • Description:7
Comments: Immediate points docked for that unnecessary commentary at the bottom of the description. I thought that was gonna be removed in the final entry. Now onto the outfit, this mint color scheme + the forest background is adorable. This fit reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake. Though, I would've preferred it if there's more touches of pastel pink, seeing as there's only the flower pin being the only pink item. Another predictable cute concept, but it's a solid take on pastel nonetheless.

Overall Comment:
I'm peeved that most of the designers did not go for an unexpected or unusual route with their design on the pastel challenge. They really only need to have a pastel outfit, so they have a huge space for creativity, and yet most of them played it safe with cutesy fits... They really need to step it up 'cause I'm bored.

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie (Total Score: 35pts. //87.5%)
Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9• Description:10
Comments: Very beautiful and the description is amazing i love how you drew inspo from a real place and i think you remained very true to the character Colour matching is perfect and it looks well put together using items i wouldn't think of using. you definitley had aubrie nail this theme description leavs nothing to be desired

Dickjoke — Talia (Total Score: 25 pts. // 62.5%)
Style:7• Creativity:4• Motif:7 • Description:7
Comments: good following the theme but seems too simple for a princess who has gadgets and gizmos aplenty very smart choice with the pearls though. As a look this is strong. how ever the item choice feels uinspired beside the pearls. It fits well with the theme though however lack-luster
!
Haji Demon — Maritza (Total Score: 29pts. // 72.5%)
Style:6 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:6
Comments: Great use of the water spirit item! I don;t love how the items flow and it looks busy. But the water spirit was great and creative, you followed the theme great but i would foocus more on the outfit intself next time BUT i would recommend not telling the judges it was a rush job,

Neapolitangirl — Ava (Total Score: 29pts. // 72.5%)
Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:7
Comments: THE CRICLET IS THE WRONG SHADE OF GOLD! and the bg takes away so much from what would have been a beautiful avi. However the item use was smart. but i would've liked to see more of her story in the avi. Description was short but sweet and gave good defense of them items used.

clowniing — Rhiannon (Total Score: 26 pts. // 65%)
Style:6 • Creativity:5• Motif:7 • Description:8
Comments: the bg distracts from the all around look, and i feel the colours all sort of mush together . it also eels very busy. HOWEVER its VERY much giving generic mermaid. If fit in with the theme but i woudn't have guesed it was ariel. but the description is beautiful and you def remained true to it

HELLPRIEST — Seren (Total Score: 35 pts. // 87.5%)
Style:9 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:7
Comments: this is beautiful! The idea of transformation is executed perfectly! its extremely creative that you chose her becoming the princess we know and love. It worked in the round's challenge perfectly as seren transforms into a princess in front of our very eyes! believe the bg takes away from it though. Also, the description is lackluster

Detrimentum — Helena (Total Score: 20 pts. // 50%)
Style:8 • Creativity:3 • Motif:6 • Description:3
Comments: i see there was thought put into it but with the one-shade coloring it falls flat. It looks like you didn't go very original with it and opted with a colour that overwhelms the pallet. It defintly reads princess but it reads as a cheap costume rather than a transfornation. you could use your description to say more about your insporation

smol bab — Amren (Total Score: 33 pts. // 82.5%)
Style:7 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:7
Comments: ABSOLUTLEY FLOORED with the thought put into this! but the overskirt unfortunately blends into the bg making it look bulky . It was very creative of you to add the frog item and in the description adding in that he is the prince was a smart move. I think you choose creative items i would not have thought of and it doesn't look like a set was used.

mythological irony — Sumati (Total Score: 29 pts. //57.7%)
Style:6 • Creativity:9 • Motif:7 • Description:7
Comments: The bg adds nothing except disraction but the way you made do with the top not being your first choice so using her arms to cover is great. the item use is smart and creative and you worked with what you had. You fit the theme and in your decription you defended the arms well and it was very smart

ICLite — Lulu (Total Score:30 pts. // 75%)
Style:Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:
Comments: I think everything worked well together but the tree and horse clutter it, and there is something in front of the avi making it look splotchy. I think using her hair to bring out the red tones was a creative idea I just wish we saw more life in her.It fit in with the motif well and the description makes me fee like you put a lot into the thought in the bg even if i don't really like it.

BloodAngel95 — Bryce (Total Score: 11 pts. // 27.5%)
Style:3 • Creativity:3 • Motif:2 • Description:3
Comments: This dosent read as merida to be as the colours just seem off. dont think it was a good choice to make merida "sexy" and GIRL WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY SEE THE AVI. Overall i dont think this screamed princess as it wasnt very much recognizable as merida besides the bow and hair. You gave a lot in your description about making her sexy and a princess but its just not working

Ultrabord — Esther (Total Score: 37pts. //92.5%)
Style:10 • Creativity:8 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: stunning avi, wish there werent those lines in front of her though, takes away from the look but i love that you took inspo from a real culture! It s creatiev as it shows a princess's journey to being a princess! It's dressing uop as a princess in her most organic form! The item use was smart and unique. I def wouldn't have thought of using that armor. The description stated your imspo of different culture an it was in general, just an awesoem take of mulan

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie (Total Score: 29pts. // 72.5%)
Style:7 • Creativity:10 • Motif:5 • Description:7
Comments: That background...
anyways! It would have taken first place in my heart without thaet bg. But I commend you for using such a limited colour scheme! I think th colours are beautiful but the background doesn't go. I think you chose a very creative color palette and you embodied pastels well. Description is a good defense of the items used.

Dickjoke — Talia (Total Score: 23 pts. // 57.5%)
Style:6 • Creativity:5 • Motif:5 • Description:7
Comments: smart choice blocking her eyeshadow but i wish the setup wasnt there so we could actually see the avi. The colours of the avi look good but the setup is blocking it. I think you chose items that played it safe though. The large setup isn't pastel so the theme kinda went unrecognized. you defended your item choice well, though.

Haji Demon — Maritza (Total Score: 27 pts. // 67.5%)
Style:4 • Creativity:7 • Motif:7• Description:9
Comments: beautiful description butttt that parasol is soooo out of place! it takes away from everything! and also not a fan of the bg. Nothing matches is a cohesive way and teh items you chose werent exactly pastel.but once again, beautiful description.

Neapolitangirl — Ava (Total Score: 22 pts. // 55%)
Style:6 • Creativity:6 • Motif:6 • Description:4
Comments: i know you tried to make it not look messy but it still looks messy gonk The style isn't there but you used some interesting items. Loosley follows theme. Description didn't defend the items used very well.

clowniing — Rhiannon (Total Score: 31 pts. // 95%)
Style:7 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:8
Comments: what a cutie pie! i just wish the background didnt have green in it so everything matched It's creative and stylish and fits the theme very well with its overall soft look. Good description too.

HELLPRIEST — Seren (Total Score: 39 pts. // 97.5%)
Style:10 • Creativity:9• Motif:10 • Description:10
Comments: Yes. Yes to all of it. Konpeito is my favorite colour scheme and it looks so cute. Fits the theme with your purely pastel outfit. I saw you used some older konpeito items so i commend you on that! Description is cute!

Detrimentum — Helena (Total Score: 38 pts. // 95%)
Style:8 • Creativity:10 • Motif:10 • Description:10
Comments: Stunning avi and stunning description. I think that you built an ethereal look that went great with rainbow. its a creative take making pastels elegant rather than cute. the delicate pallate fits the motif perfectly. The reference to Iris was beautiful.

smol bab — Amren (Total Score: 23 pts. // 57.5%)
Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:10 • Description:6
Comments: very cute, but i feel that the bg is a distractiioni like that you kept to a floral theme. Having her pick flowers is also a good choice. Description defended your use of items well. I would really love this without the clutter of the background

mythological irony — Sumati (Total Score: 10 pts. // 25%)
Style:1• Creativity:3 • Motif:3 • Description:3
Comments: nothing matches and teh face is weird. It doesn't look like you used only pastels and the flowers are distracting. The face allso wasn't done well. You failed to defend your items well in the description.

ICLite — Lulu (Total Score: 30 pts. // 75%)
Style:Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:8
Comments: It's a cute look but its busy with all the foreground items. I think the rainbow take is creative and fun and you used some interesting items. I'm glad you used tthe description to flesh out your ideas.

BloodAngel95 — Bryce (Total Score: 24 pts. // 60%)
Style:6• Creativity:7 • Motif:6 • Description:5
Comments: take away the bg next time and you would have a very nicely put together outfit. I like that uyou used interesting items but i feel as though you also played it safe. The pastel theme is executed well enough. Description leaves a lot to be desired though.

Ultrabord — Esther (Total Score:28pts. // 70%)
Style:6 • Creativity:6 • Motif:7 • Description:9
Comments: the colours arent balanced! and i hateeeee the bg It looks like you played it safe witrh the items you used and i urge you to think outside the box. The pastel theme kinda gets lost with the shift in colours from the bg. desciription is great though.

Challenge #8: I Command Each of Ye
Designers, if you think yourselves pure, you won't after this particular task! This week's
challenge will have each of you breaking one of the ten commandments, set forth in the
book of Exodus. Each Designer must portray a different sin, which they've been randomly
assigned to. Click here for brief explanations of these transgressions. Due Date: Apr 6th

clowniing — Rhiannon: 70%
S:7 • C:6 • M:5 • D:10
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
Comments: This isn't quite up to Clown's standard, but I get it, and
so do they, according to their own testimony. But despite that, I have to say
that Rhiannon still looks gorgeous. The items may be a bit simple and/or
common, but the colour palette slaps. The whites, golds, and browns look
simply divine against Rhiannon's ebony skin, and she actually looks good
against the backdrop. However, the motif score took a dive, as this was
supposed to be a depiction of breaking a commandment, not upholding it.

Detrimentum — Helena: 76%
S:8 • C:5 • M:9 • D:9
“Thou shalt not kill.”
Comments: Alright, so my third big annoyance in equipable items comes
with companions. I'm sorry, but 90% of the time, they just look stupid and out
of place. And then using one for this specific sin ... I feel like a dead guy is
just way too predictable. Plus, he blends into the background, making the
space look too busy. I say Detri should have picked between the companion
and the background. However, I still think Helena's outfit looks swell. It's
adorable in the right ways, and enjoyably sinister in all the devious ways.

Dickjoke — Talia: 76%
S:7 • C:7 • M:8 • D:9
“Thou shalt not covet.”
Comments: Whew! For a minute there, I was scared that d**k had lost their
unique vision, but this entry proves they haven't given up! They're still in the game!!
Truly, Talia looks so very pretty here, in the most hauntingly elegant way. It was a
good choice to go for lighter, muted tones, as the contrast of her derelict gown
makes her look malevolent, yet tragic. She looks like she belongs in a villain origin
story, where we can empathize with her pain ... Or perhaps she's a character ripped
from a stop-motion Burton/Selick film. But as always, I don't like the background. I
wish d**k had opted for more decor, rather than the wall-to-wall canvas.

Haji Demon — Maritza: 68%
S:5 • C:6 • M:10 • D:6
“Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
Comments: Haji's first attempt (in the spoiler), is really not all that great.
And yet, it's still better than the flop they ultimately submitted. The background is
a mash of random colours, the predictable use of a companion is boring, and the
chat bubble is so unnecessary. Like, I'm sorry, but this is a disaster. The motif is
really the only thing Haji got right on this one, and that's probably because this
sin is one of the easiest to showcase. This is a sincerely heartbreaking setback.

HELLPRIEST — Seren: 95%
S:9 • C:9 • M:10 • D:10
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
Comments: I am SO glad we were able to negotiate an extension,
because this entry is easily the best from the entire challenge. The motif
was so clear that I didn't even need to remind myself which sin Hell had
been assigned. The colour scheme is perfect, Seren's silhouette is
beautiful, and despite not showing her face, I think this is the best Seren
has ever looked. This was well worth the wait, my friend!! I honestly think
Hell could have achieved a perfect score, if there were just a little more
detail added to the background; Some black accents: confetti, petals, bits
and/or fluff would have given this design that little boost into perfection.

ICLite — Lulu: 73%
S:8 • C:7 • M:5 • D:9
“Honour thy father and thy mother.”
Comments: I'm a bit torn on this one. One the one hand, I dig the
aesthetic, the colour scheme was a good choice, the description sold me
on Lite's creativity, but this is a bit of a stretch on the theme. This is a very
metaphorical approach to the task, and had there been no description, I
would have been totally confused by the imagery. Then again, I feel as
though this blasphemic notion was one of the harder ones to portray, and
I deeply appreciate that Lite didn't use companions. But ... ugh.

mythological irony — Sumati: 80%
S:6 • C:7 • M:9 • D:10
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
Comments: When it comes to equipables I hate, backgrounds are first,
and speech bubbles are second ... So I am totally bummed out that Myth used
them! Honestly, her motif was clear, and she backed it with an awesome
description, so she totally didn't need them to sell us on her theme. Her design
process what literally flawless until it came to thought bubbles. Sumati's armmod
was perfect, the choice of contrasting the girly PJs with a sinister face shadow
was ingenious. We didn't need to be beat over the head with explicit words.

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie: 80%
S:8 • C:6 • M:10 • D:8
“Thou shalt not steal.”
Comments: Aubrie looks great in black, skin-tight clothes, I must say!
The silhouette is both flattering, and very on point for the theme (I love the
'heist' motif very much!). I also commend Shiro, for finding a good balance
between shadow and visibility. What I'm not digging is the use of space here.
Yes, the vault is a cute addition, but it's just not enough. And I get why Shiro
shied away from a mask, but I think it could've elevated the look. Don't be
scared to take risks, and if you're unsure, seek a Mentor or ask peer opinion.

smol bab — Amren: 70%
S:5 • C:6 • M:8 • D:9
“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.”
Comments: Can I just say how much I love Smol's naive enthusiasm?!
Like, I get the distinct impression from their past descriptions that they are
young, and possibly abroad. There's a youthful energy that makes me happy to
read what they're going to write next. This entry is no exception, although it isn't
my favourite when it comes to style. Like usual, I loathe the backdrop, though I
appreciate how Smol defended the setting in their description. And while it has
some clever equipables, like the armmod, it somehow reads as basic.

Ultrabord — Ava: 80%
S:6 • C:7 • M:9 • D:10
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.”
Comments: Damn, Ultra went dark with this description and motif lol!! But
they ain't wrong, and I think it was a very clever idea to link this particular
antique law with a very real, modern issue that plagues our youth of today. Ava's
features have always made me feel as though she'd never known life before the
technological boom of the 90's, so this outfit suits her well. The blacks and
whites are a treat to see on her. And the eclectic, sorta modern, 'trying too hard
to be sexy' style just fits. But just because it fits, doesn't mean it's fashionable. I
can understand why Ultra made the choices they did, but it's still not to my
aesthetic. Also, the background is way too simple, and kinda boring.

Due Date: Apr 6th

                    clowniing — Rhiannon: 75%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:7 • Motif:5 • Description:8
Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy

Comments: ..okay, this is a hard one to judge. Because the challenge was to break one of the ten commandments, so really clown should have done something unholy/to not keep Sunday holy. But that is a really hard thing to do and if you have no frame of reference for the commandments, this can be one of the ones that is hard to really understand. And frankly?? This is an amazing entry. From the description to the look, clown nailed what they were going for. Love this angelic look. Just not sure it actually fits the challenge.

                    Detrimentum — Helena: 92.5%
                    Style:8 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:10
                    Do not kill

Comments: This was a smart smart look. I'm glad Detri acknowledged this was one of the easiest sins to work with, and I'm proud of them for giving themselves and extra sort of twist to things. This is a well balanced look, thought through, and so many details were put into the look itself that the description did a great job of highlighting. And with Helena still having an innocent playful look, this really feels like a mockery of 'thou shalt not kill' in a way that just delights me. Some things in the back didn't layer great, and I would have lost the black hair clip.

                    Dickjoke — Talia: 85%
                    Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:9
                    Do not covet

Comments: Idk, this is a good look. I have nothing to say really at first instinct. This is brilliantly creative, excellent description, d**k totally nailed what they were going for. It isn't how I would have approached the challenge, and I admire that. There's just something...off about it? Maybe I would have liked more green or common symbols for jealousy and envy. But this is balanced and well thought, and this is one of the few instances I love having the front and back view.

                    Haji Demon — Maritza: 62.5%
                    Style:6 • Creativity:6 • Motif:8 • Description:5
                    Do not commit adultery

Comments: This would have a higher score if the two companions weren't labeled one over top of the other, AND THEN THE SPEECH BUBBLE OVER TOP OF THEM! The speech bubble might ruin the whole thing, even if it is a good idea and appropriate to use. But it makes things hard to see. And like, wasn't sure at first which companion was the partner and which one was being cheated with. And then it came through, but I..I dunno. This is just simple? And doesn't work for me. As simple as things are, more details are needed in the background. And the description is so minimal? I expect more at this stage, especially when Haji has had such strong entries. If the companions don't work for the look, change the look.
That said, I'm glad they Haji didn't go with the first look. xD

                    HELLPRIEST — Seren: 95%
                    Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
                    TDo not worship other gods

Comments: This is amazing. I took off one point for creativity cause going for the devil as the opposite of the Christian god was kind of expected, but it's still great. Excellently executed. Covering Seren's face was smart. Changing the legs to be hooves, the claws on the hands, the dark magic and skirt? All fantastic elements and great interpretations of this theme and challenge. So glad we waited for this!

                    ICLite — Lulu: 70%
                    Style:5 • Creativity:10 • Motif:6 • Description:7
                    Honor your father and mother

                    Comments: Why so daaaaaark crying
The idea behind this of going less literal and more interpretive with the rotting tree is a great one. Lulu gets top marks for creativity. The stump look for the legs? Great. There are not many items in the outfit, in fact the base outfit we can see is one item. But because of all the dark layering and dark choice of outfit colors, it's really hard to see the look! I wish there was a wicked purple or green, things that read poisonous included, beyond the floating leaves. And the green leaves would have been better as browns or red, like they'd died off. There is way too much layered in the background and details are lost, especially in the colors. I wish I liked this more.

                    mythological irony — Sumati: 90%
                    Style:9 • Creativity:9 • Motif:9 • Description:9
                    Do not lie

Comments: This is amazing. From top to bottom, look to description, this is great. A fantastic interpretation of the prompt. I think I might have liked it more if there was a hint of someone else in the look aside from just the multiple speech bubbles. I also think if it looked like Sumati was talking to someone on the phone it might have been a little stronger, just..been that perfect little thing. But that is nitpicking.

                    ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie: 82.5%
                    Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:9
                    Do not steal

Comments: I am SO relieved that Shiro did a dark look at night but didn't darken things to the point it can't be seen. Love that so much. Also love the idea of a heist, though at first glance I did get more assassin from Aubrie than thief? But after looking at it more and reading the description, it totally works for me. Shiro also managed to match blacks in the outfit so well, with the gloves being the only black that is off from the main outfit, but that makes sense to me. Such a strong first entry for the week.

                    smol bab — Amren: 67.5%
                    Style:6 • Creativity:5 • Motif:8 • Description:8
Do not take the lord's name in vain

Comments: Fine. I get what smol is going for with the tape on the mouth, but I'm not sure it was needed. Again, like clown, they went more for more...doing the commandment instead of the opposite of it. I think Amren's normal mouth would suit things better. This is a fine look, there's nothing super creative or amazing about it, nothing bad. Just..fine.

                    Ultrabord — Ava: 65%
                    Style:5 • Creativity:6 • Motif:8 • Description:7
                    Do not make idols

Comments: I think swapping to Ava might have been a mistake. Do I see what she was going for? Sure. Description is decent. But there is nothing I love in this. The idea of faux fur and fake plant being fake like Ava, flimsy lingerie, those are all good ideas. Fine ideas. But it just doesn't actually work. The fur looks tacky and bad, there's no selfie this girl can take that would look good. The red on the planter stands out in a not great way. I think dressing her in colors might have worked better? Something bold. Something edgier would be better for Ava too and her style. Idk, it just...isn't working for me. It isn't awful. Just not good.

ShiroOkazaki — Aubrie (Total Score: 35 pts. // 87.5%)
Do not steal
Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: I like the blend of practicality and fashion that this look is bringing. The black on black is so cool to see, and very fitting for the prompt. I love that the black on the outfit doesn't blend in with the black on the background. The heist concept makes so much sense with the sin. Though, it would be nice to see Shiro add more security systems into the background to give it more of that heist feel, but, it's giving what it's supposed to give regardless.

Dickjoke — Talia (Total Score: 36 pts. // 90%)
Do not covet
Style:9 • Creativity:10 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: I get the "green with envy" concept that they're going for. It makes sense for the given commandment. The abstract take on the sin adds to the artistic value of this look, and I'm into it. Talia, the former royalty, wanting it all and more. The moths make sense with the concept they're going for, too. I love a glam type of horror, and seeing this entry is beautiful to see. Though it does read a tad too abstract, in a sense, where I couldn't get the sin at first glance, but the description helped explaining the look.

Haji Demon — Maritza (Total Score: 24 pts. // 60%)
Do not commit adultery
Style:4 • Creativity:5 • Motif:8 • Description:7
Comments: It's what I expected of the given commandment. That said, it's a tad predictable and quite boring for me. I'm missing a fashion element to the look. Concept-wise, it reads adultery, but the fashion is what's missing for this entry. Maritza's just in a blanket wrap, and Haji called it a day... Pretty sure you can do more than just a blanket to convey adultery. Come on! Do more with it!

clowniing — Rhiannon (Total Score: 28 pts. // 70%)
Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy
Style:9 • Creativity:8 • Motif:3 • Description:8
Comments: For what this entry is, style-wise, it's giving. However, the challenge calls for breaking the commandment, not follow it. So I'm on the fence, whether or not I rate this high for style and creativity, or low for motif and creativity. I'm on the fence, but ultimately, I'm meeting that silver lining of giving style credits where it's due, but keeping in mind the challenge description.

HELLPRIEST — Seren (Total Score: 38 pts. // 95%)
Do not worship other gods
Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: I love that HELL went literal on this entry. Serena praising God's enemy, Satan, is such a smart move. In these types of challenges, going literal is the best way to go about it, and I commend HELL going on that route. I love the goat hooves, the horns, the veil with the symbols, the arm mod, it's all so good. The dress itself is such a good mix of glamour and satanic. Almost punky, in a sense, which isn't my go-to aesthetic, but I appreciate it done in this form, because it makes so much sense with the prompt given. And you're welcome for the extension, HELL. Mama, kudos to you, for turning it out, for serving Satan.

Detrimentum — Helena (Total Score: 30 pts. // 75%)
Do not kill
Style:6 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: The innocent girl that committed murder reads well. Honestly would've loved for Detri to go more ham with the commandment, given how easy and straightforward it is, but I like what they're serving. The outfit gives me very baby doll, but this isn't the first time that I've seen Detri do this type of look. Granted, it was one challenge ago, but my point of wanting them to go outside flouncy and girly looks still stands. I would want to see versatility within Detri's repertoire.

smol bab — Amren (Total Score: 33 pts. // 82.5%)
Do not take the lord's name in vain
Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:8
Comments: This is one of the tougher commandments there is, and props to smol for not overcomplicating their outfit. The look itself is a casual look, but stylish, and on theme with the beanie with devil horns and mini angel winglets on the head. Every item chosen makes sense with the concept, and smol explained it well. Would've preferred it to be shortened, but I don't mind the somewhat long read. I appreciate smol still taking fashion into account, despite the rather difficult commandment given to them, and the entry does read well with the given prompt.

mythological irony — Sumati (Total Score: 37 pts. // 92.5%)
Do not lie
Style:9 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9
Comments: This is a huge 180 from the pastel challenge, wow! myth really came to redeem and redeem they did. Their concept reads well, and it's a tasteful way to break the commandment without straying away from making it fashion. From the chat bubbles, to the shadows and arm pose, everything myth added into this entry makes sense with what they're going for and the given prompt. This is peak "simple but tasteful" fashion for me. An amazing week for myth.

ICLite — Lulu (Total Score: 34 pts. // 85%)
Honor your father and mother
Style:8 • Creativity:9 • Motif:8 • Description:9
Comments: I see the metaphorical take on this commandment. The tree concept is explained well, and it looks nice. I like the addition of the dark filter, because it adds more to the look's concept. Lite could've gone straightforward with this commandment, but giving it an abstract flair amps up the fashion choices made. That said, I would've preferred that Lite meshed abstract with straightforwardness to the look, so that they wouldn't have to heavily rely on their description. Their description definitely helped them this week.

Ultrabord — Ava (Total Score: 28 pts. // 70%)
Do not make idols
Style:6.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:6 • Description:8
Comments: Lots of risky moves Ultra has taken this week. Some risks were more worth it than others, though. The outfit Ava is on does suit her. But the background choices clashes with the outfit. I get what Ultra's going for with the outfit, but the background needs to work with the outfit, as opposed to against it if they aim for followers to worship them. But even if they got their background right, the entry wouldn't read better with the given commandment, at least for me. Knowing the commandment, this entry doesn't represent well the opposition of what the commandment calls for.
