Challenge #2: A Girl Who Flirts Designer: Sy as in Why Model: Jaylyn Status:Complete
Meet Me in the Pink Room Jaylyn covers her mouth, a facade of surprise as she wears her prettiest white dress, her frilled cardigan, simple black heels and a gaze of expectation as the viewer catches her in her boudoir. A little subtle eyeshadow and blush here, a pretty headbow there, all while surrounded by the finest pink plush furniture, how could anyone resist such feminine charm?
This was actually quite a fun challenge, especially as I only know a little about coquette fashion and had to do a little bit of research instead of going with my gut, particularly after my first attempt; it read less "coquette" and more "Valentine's Day" and while I'm sure there's a way to harmonise both concepts, it wasn't working for me, so I'd had to scrap it, go through more pinterest boards, tiktoks and even a little online window-shopping to get the right idea for how I wanted to portray Jaylyn's flirty coquettish side.
With that in mind, the main focus for me was to get the right pose to suit the idea of a "Girl that Flirts", and combine it with a background that a coquette would love to be a part of. I already had the idea of having her sitting, avoiding more dramatic stylish poses that seemed too mature for the girlish persona that I wanted Jaylyn to embody. The hand pose was one of the first that was locked-in, as the moment I combined it with Jaylyn's default facial features, it gave her less "shocked" and more "teasing" (getting Jaylyn as my model has never felt so good, and it already felt good!).
Getting the perfect sitting pose was difficult, but the deceptively casual sweep of legs, almost touching that pretty pink love seat, left an impression on me, and so I kept it and finished the look by combining two dresses to get the exact length I wanted: showing just enough of her legs to suggest, not reveal. A little tweaking to add detail like the bow headband and the belt with a bow (can't have a coquette look without cute bows!), as well as a little light blush here, a sweep of eyeshadow to highlight Jaylyn's gaze, combined two backgrounds to create a pretty boudoir (almost went for a garden, but nobody in their right mind would expose such a pretty love seat to the elements). Add the nouveau frame to quite literally frame the moment, et voila! C'est la beauté!

A Girl Who Flirts Designer: Kr-E Model: Cheska Entry Title — A Romantic Night in the Garden Status: Complete
"Thank you for spending this magical night with me"emotion_bigheart
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Description: Cheska takes a long, romantic stroll through the garden with you. Showing you her prized roses in their softest pink. She twirls to show you how flowing her dress is, dancing in the night under a shifting sky that slowly shifts to night.
A word from the Designer:
WOW. I will have to say that I am incredibly challenged when it comes to soft aesthetics like Coquette. I looked and researched coming to the conclusion that simple, elegant and even romantic were the vibe needed to achieve.
The first look had a completely different color palette and was closer to the colors of 'vain'. I would not find any items or even enjoy how she looked in that scheme. So I scrapped that look but was enamored by the garden setting that was created in the first look. So on we went to achieve the perfect look for the scene!
Through many items, clothing, and styles of soft, coquette looks. Many corset tries to find that nothing could beat the simplicity of her wear. So, I opted to get her more accessories and played with her arms a bit going back and forth between the 2 options that held pearls. Until I realized that this one gave her a narrative, showing off her lovely garden with golden gates. I could not deny that it added to the romance of the scene. I also wanted to keep her minimal make-up but accent the aesthetic more. It was also almost impossible to find a tiny purse that fit with the theme and her look. Many a trial and error later, I stumbled on nearly the very last of the pages, to find this adorable heart purse.
This challenge kept me on my toes and on a constant loop of swapping to find her perfect look. I will also admit that despite the challenge it was the challenge itself gave me the best time and found it fun. I do hope you feel the romance in the air with Cheska.
Thank you and good luck to everyone!emotion_bigheart _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Challenge 2: A girl who flirts Designer: FaithEmblem Model: Luz Status: complete!
✧Luz in coquette, the girl who wants it all✧
"Actually, you have to be a little bit in love with your leading man and vice versa. If you're going to portray love, you have to feel it. You can't do it any other way. But you don't carry it beyond the set." -Audrey Hepburn
I am so pleased to be writing to you again, as the initial presentation given to you all did fall a bit flat. No worries though! Luz and I are bound and determined to present you with a stylish look, with all the grit and glamour we could muster.
Here in this scene, we spy Luz just as she has finished a coffee at her favorite Parisian café. As she stands, her eye catches the shy glances of a passing gentleman-- Salut beau gosse! With fluttering eyelashes, Luz daintily slides her Alaïa shoulder bag up her arm and freshens her poofy skirt. A switch has flipped and it seems certain her plan is to use her wiles to pull him in!
Would you blame this young man for falling prey to Luz's coy charm? I went for luxury and classic feminine beauty, yet with a modern touch in this design. To make it obvious I gave her a cropped top, accessorized with a lace collar and sheer delicate cutout-- almost tantalizing with peeks of skin. The grace of an antique pearl bracelet coupled with fresh rose gold flats. And more, lovingly tied together with sweet bows and designer pastel purse. All these things to say without saying, "I can have anything and so I will have you!", wouldn't you agree?
Oh yeah! No googling here!
A glossary: Parisian café - popular cafe style in Paris for relaxing and rendez-vous with lots of outdoor seating Salut beau gosse - French slang for hello hottie/hello gorgeous! Alaïa leather shoulder bag - designer purse; the Le Coeur style is a pastel pink heart; Le Coeur is French for heart.
Thanks for having us, au revoir! (Goodbye!)
All the best, Faith
P.S. thanks so much to dickjoke for helping dear Luz through her shoe fiasco. Also, I hope I learned to do makeup better this round blaugh

୨୧ Designer: Detrimentum ୨୧ Model: Eryn ୨୧ Challenge: #2 - A Girl Who Flirts ୨୧ Outift Title: Say yes to Heaven ୨୧ Description:
After my intense coquette aesthetic study, I think I've managed to create a unique coquette look for Eryn!
Coquette fashion is known not only for femininity but also for flirtation. As such, I've started by picking a short, cute and simple pink dress (it was a choice based on a classic coquette dress pick - Mirror Palais' The Sweetest Thing dress). Then I just had to add a big bow to the dress' back. Eryn's short dress shows off her legs on which she has pretty white stockings with pink frills. As for her accessories, I've picked a simple black neck ribbon over which she's wearing a long necklace made out of pearls. On her head is a white headband with a cute white bow.
I tried to make her makeup a little bit more "intense", as in I used a lot of blush items. I've also added some pink eyeshadow to enhance Eryn's feminine allure.
Eryn's pose is meant to make her look dainty and elegant!
As the pièce de résistance, I've chosen her background to be a frilly pink heart. ♡
Challenge #2: A Girl Who Flirts Designer: Sleepy Luna Moth Model: Kiara Status: Complete
Paris Holds The Key To Your Heart~
Kiara and I were listening to the Anastasia soundtrack as I worked through the wardrobe, but when this song came on, it all came together shortly after that! What better place to flirt and find romance than the City of Love itself! A little fluffing and styling of the bangs, and one very big bow with extensions later, and Kiara was ready to enjoy a beautiful evening out on the town! I really loved the longer, more flowy skirts with the corsets, and the ballet flats. This is an outfit you can dance the night away in!
I admit, I had to do a google search for more Coquette ideas, but what I saw did inspire me! I saw a lot of pinks and whites, but the one that stood out the most was a mood board featuring some pretty blues, whites and peach tones, which I thought would suit Kiara really well with her features! I loved the coat and tried soooo hard to find a close match in the wardrobe, settling for this over the shoulder coat. I loved the lacey looking cuffs and the subtle yellow designs~
Admittedly, the biggest struggles with this was finding a decent bow for her hair as well as a way to give her facial features a bit more emotion without changing it too much. Also, Kiaras natural hair is very, very difficult to style without addind some extras, hence the bangs and ponytail.... Speaking of the dang ponytail, how I wish they made a dark haired pony with a pretty colored bow Dx
~Equip List~ King A In SPades (hair) Sensible Tenacious Love (face) Across Blush (Fuschia) Astra: Evening City of Romance (still) Etoile Charmed Rose (holding a rose) Sweet Firefly Catcher Classically Betrothed (bangs) Graceful Wintery Caribeau Beckoning Chu (rose gold) Carry On Step Lively (ponytail) Light Witchy Aesthetic (skirt) Parched Trixie Treat (corset) Eternal Melancolicorne S (legs tone C) Sniffa You (crimson) Wondrous Cryo Bout It (earring) Oure Celestial Duchess (necklace)

Challenge #2: A Girl Who Flirts
"Flirting With Death" Designed by. Princess Warfare Description. Sometimes it takes me a couple days to really wrap my mind around a style and get a better feel for the aesthetic. That is definitely the case here, but I think the biggest struggle I had was finding the *perfect* way to tie in a little bit of my own razzle-dazzle...
Just kidding, I made it witchy! But seriously, I curated her look to balance with the scenery; adding some fingerless gloves and taking the feedback from last week and adding a hat with some offblack on it so it'd balance out better. I made sure to add bows and pearls for that flirty flair.
I'm really happy with how this turned out, and I hope you like it too! heart
Designer: bloodangel95 Model: Amira Outfit Title: A hot summer kissemotion_kiss
Description: Amira ventured out to the boardwalk to have some fun. She dressed to impress with a floral pearl headband, bow earrings, a simple cute bow top, lace skirt, an oversized cardigan sweater, and comfortable socks and shoes. Oh, let’s not forget makeup! The dark eye lashes, with eyeshadow that has a hint of lavender, a touch of sky blue, and a touch of pink! Just one look into her eyes and you’re drawn in. Amira may have gone to the boardwalk alone for “ice cream”, but you can bet she won't be alone.
I had no idea what coquette was, but as began reading about it I loved the style. Had all the elements I knew I could work with, however, deciding on what colors I wanted to go with was a hard choice. I started just looking for bows and found the cute front bow top I had to use, as well as the bow earrings! The top came in a variety of colors and combinations. The gray ribbon with pink collar just called to me. I considered a variety of different skirts too, but I went for the black/gray lace. If you’re going out looking for romance, you must stand out and be bold. For the coquette style I knew these legs were a perfect choice. I was a bit disappointed with the coloring available but decided to roll with it. Hence why I added a touch of sky blue for the eyeshadow and paired the outfit with a lavender cardigan.
Originally, I was going to have Amira posing indoors in her room, studying/flirting with someone, but went for the typical date/romance scenario instead. There was a perfect background that gave exactly the vibe I wanted; however, it came with additional lighting that made her look paler than she already is!
p.s. I created about five versions of this! Three of the room(s) scenario and two of the boardwalk. rofl
Fashion themes are just tough on me, I just hope that I got the look right. The look I went for is somewhere between Lana Del Rey and Duffy album covers I included a lot of pastel and other light colors. Blush seems like a really important element to it, so I layered 2-3 different ones, added an adamant recolor earing that gave additional glow to face even if it itself isnt very visible, layered 2 corsets so it doesnt look like a very light colored blob
I mostly focused on trying to get aesthetics right, so didnt put much story behind this avi. Just tried for a cute look like in an album cover
Challenge 2: A Girl Who Flirts Designer: Serafiella Model: Tessa Status: Complete
The Woman in the Yellow Dress
Girly, but not a child. Someone who looks like they are about to go to or from a ballet class. In tune with one's femininity. That is a lot to try and capture in an avatar! I felt I had to specifically dig into some Black coquette inspiration for this challenge due to the existing difficulty presented by Gaia's lighter colorations and Skintone E. Sometimes a light pink is too light a pink. What I found was immediate inspiration. Besides the more universal choice of white, there are colors that look better on darker skintones than lighter ones. Namely, yellow! I don't play around with yellow much, and jumped at the chance to make that the primary color of this outfit. While chiffon yellow in particular is leaned on heavily, butter and citrus are also there to help.
That said, it took some time to settle on a dress. Many were tried on and taken back off. The selected dress itself is composed of four separate items to give it a larger variety of textures and a more eye-drawing shape. For this round, earrings did help better frame the face. Gentle Giostra's arm bows and gesturing finger are so coquette! Makeup was chosen carefully to match the existing colors while not overdoing the blush against Tessa's lovely skin.
With some effort spent deciding just where my flirty girl would find her best angles, we eventually settled on heading to the botanical gardens to highlight all of her floral accents. Where the question became how many butterflies is too many butterflies in the shot? Who could she be flirting with here? Well, there's got to be a few gardeners around. She's girly, happy, and in her element.
Note: I've had the head bow on her since the first day of the challenge, I'm not going to panic another model has something similar and take it off now.
Items:
Skintone E Body Dye, Natural Obsession, Sweet Talker, Pink the Elephant and Friends (Butterflies), Ivy Prep Academia (rooftop), Gentle Cute Giostra (arms), Blooming Fairlily (Dress), Blooming Blush (Bow), lettus lids (Citrus), Blooming Flower Guardian (Flowers), Blooming Sanctum Sophia (Crop Top E), Lisa's Garden Backdrop (blue & purple), I am Blooming Flowers (Legs - Tone E), Light Edgy Moth Earrings (Chiffon), Coastal Rabbit Candy Sailor (Mouth), Bloom Bows (Chiffon), Blooming Ichigo Sandwitch (Collar)
So I'll be upfront this challenge was a huge struggle for me. Coquette isn't a aesthetic I am not familiar with. However I was sure initially that it wouldn't be an issue. I am great at research so certainly I could do a little reading browse some image boards and get going no problem. I was wrong.
You see The Internet is actually rather split on what coquette actually is. There is a discrepancy (Huge argument) between the history of Coquette and the what people wearing the coquette trend are doing. Coquette as described in my research has a very coy sexiness to it. its teenage heartbreaker its a girl who goes for older men. Its lana del ray and 50's/60's Americana. But the image boards and tiktok don't really match. The styles I found there were much more Japanese Lolita/casual lolita which is supposed to be a very different style with very different silhouettes.
So I just started playing around with what it seemed like people were wearing as Coquette. I went through probably 4 iterations of that style and while I go one I liked it didn't feel like I was portraying the style correctly. So I started again. One thing I noticed from both versions of Coquette were long vintage nightgowns. Which finally made me feel like I had a direction I could head confidently.
Raven is dressed in pink and white in this elegant nighttime attire. She is both completely covered and still giving a coy sex appeal. She is flirting with the viewer. Showing off both her feminine shape while still leaving it up to imagination. Never giving too much away. She is mysterious in her desire never letting you guess if you mean everything to her or if you're just an amusement.
The nightgown is created using multiple layers with the lovely draped outer cover being my starting point. following up with the top short dress and then two underdress layers. I used two versions of the same sheer skirt to create the perfect pale pink so which the look is mostly monotone it still reads as dynamic. I really wanted a sleep mask for her but gaia didn't have one that felt right so I went with a head band and some bows to hold her hair in place. Finally I chose the open window and a dreamy moonscape background which gives a cool autumn night feeling to the piece.
Thank you to The Clot Thickens for some advice and choosing a look to move forward with it really helped me feel certain I had done the right thing choosing this lovely late evening look!
Challenge 2: A Girl Who Flirts Designer: excites // Status: Complete Model: Serena // Title: Keep It Sweet & Simple
Description: I love this aesthetic so much! I've been recently seeing "coquette" everywhere lately and I think it's so cute. I love that the looks seem simple and easy but there are so many key things that go into the aesthetic. Bows, ribbon, lace, floral, gold, cute but also sultry, I love the combination of it all!
So I've put Serena in all of it! My favorite pieces from coquette fashion are definitely the ballet flats with tights and from the article, the floral slip type dress Devin was wearing! I thought that dress was so sweet and elegant and would've loved to put Serena in one but instead I opted for something I love even more (and that I thought would add my own spin and tie in some of that "old English vibe"); bloomers!
Serena is dressed in poofy bloomers with ribbons and a floral corset, with sheer thigh highs trimmed with lace and ballet flats! I've added leg warmers, rose bows, gold pearls and jewelry. I've kept her makeup sweet and natural with some lashes and a rosy glow. I tried to focus on the overall flow with this look because coquette to me screams smooth and frilly, nothing harsh or bulky. She's modeling on a rooftop overlooking the city nightlife because the contrast of a coquette against unfiltered life flirts with the eyes.
Designer's Note: Thank you so much for the win and feedback on the first challenge! I was sobbing and so giddy when I read it! The feedback also helped me in this challenge because right before I posted this look, I decided to take away one thing and I think it turned out so much better. Hopefully with this description I captured the "how" a lot better!

Challenge #2 A Girl Who Flirts Feedback
Serafiella — Tessa • There are many great moments in this look, and it all goes back to the fact you researched black coquette subcultures. This is how you work with your model people! Your entry stood apart from so many others and was a breath of fresh air while still nailing the challenge. • You could have pushed the colors even farther. Used more garden items to build up the background even more. Also while it worked out for this look, be careful using one color scheme to create so much of the look. Seeing the item list include so many Bloom variants lost some points on creativity.
Kr-E — Cheska • Cheska looks great, and you met the challenge with her look. We want to offer special kudos on the bows, they layer with the hair really well. The details for the outfit are all accounted for, and the color scheme was a great choice. • Over all, the only draw back for the majority of the judges was the background. The blue was too blue, the pink a little odd, the flowers at the bottom blend too much with the skirt making details get lost. We think there were better options out there to get the same vibe you wanted, without sacrificing details and the look.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven • We all love that you did the research, love that you shared it in your description, and it was just great. This was also a look that scored high in creativity, especially since it stood out from all the other entries this week. • Cohesion was where you lost some points in this look. For some it was the background that felt jarring, and others felt it was the lack of red to balance the hair. Watch out for those details in the future - especially balancing the hair.
BloodAngel95 — Amira • The beach setting was a nice unexpected element for this challenge, and you gave us one of the best descriptions of the week. The outfit was smartly done and full of so many little details and accessories that was so nice to see. • The skirt was a little too dark and heavy, and there were some layering issues with the background. While the cardigan suits coquette, we aren't convinced it fits the rest of the story you're selling us with this entry.
excites — Serena • This was another entry that stood out from the crowd, and we liked that! The bloomers were a smart touch, as was tying in your own style. • The background felt disconnected from the look, and the dark tights dragged the look down. In every sense. The idea of tights and leg warmers was a good one, but the end result just wasn't quite there. The bows in the hair also have a kind of pigtail effect that comes off as very juvenile.
FaithEmblem — Luz • This is a cute look that stands out from so many of the others, and we really appreciated the direction you went in! There was also improvement in the make up, and this color scheme really just looks so good on Luz. • Some judges felt your description was lacking, don't forget to give us the how and the why behind the scenes of the look. Pay attention to the details. The bow gets cut off by the background a little which is a bummer when the bow is so important to the challenge. The lace on the neck is a little heavy and drags things down.
the purple mew — Eunwoo • The background choice was one of the highlights for the judges in this look, it offered such a smart framing of everything and tied in more pearls that are key to the challenge, so good job on that. This was a nice look. • This was a nice look, the judges weren't excited or offended. Different hair bows would have helped, and while the corset on it's own is a perfect choice, there wasn't enough black to really tie it in. There were mixed feelings on the shape of the skirts and balance of the look.
Detrimentum — Eryn • Referencing a real life dress was a fun touch, and the look is peak dollette coquette. The make up you choice countered Eryn's expression to make things cuter and flirtier which was a smart choice. Great pose too. • The description was lacking, and over all...this look is just expected. There is nothing wrong with it, but there is nothing special either. And maybe the judges are being hard on you because we've seen such stellar things from you. We want to be blown away.
Sy as in Why — Jaylyn • Your styling for this challenge was strong, and Jaylyn looks good. Your description also helped to bring things together and explain some of the choices we were unsure of, which is what it is supposed to do. • The biggest thing you need to work on is attention to the details. The skirt didn't layer right over the leg mod and showed the knees oddly. The black flower on the bow blends with the hair to create an odd look. Focusing on those things and making sure everything fits right will elevate your looks.
Princess Warfare — Brandie • Over all the judges really liked this look! Cute Brandie with the dark background was a vibe, and you definitely listened to feedback when it comes to balancing everything out. • Babe, you killed us with your lack of description! There was no real how or why to help explain what you were doing. What makes this witchy? Why this color scheme? Why the background? Also while over all we liked the background and the gloves, her arms did get lost against the background.
Haji Demon — Raine • The spirit of coquette is in this look, we appreciate your openess about the struggles, and all think that Lana was a smart place to draw inspiration from. We also really like the way the corsets layered together. • That was about the end of the positives this challenge. Struggle with is aside, it felt like you could have pushed things farther. And there really wasn't much description there at all. Talk to us more about your process, more about everything. You've won challenges in the past, you know what you're doing. This entry just fell short of the high bar you've set for yourself.
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara • You chose a near perfect color scheme for Kiara, and who wouldn't love a flirtatious girl in the city of love? • All the good aspects were drowned out by the less than great choices. While not breaking the rules, the added ponytail and bangs changed Kiara's base hair more than we liked to see and it didn't add any benefit to the look. Similarly the make up and winking affectation just didn't add anything to the look. Instead of being coy and fun, the wink just feels stiff. The coat also distracted from what was otherwise a decent outfit.

gaia_star_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________gaia_star Cheska is thrown way back in time to the period of Ancient Egypt, more than 4,000 years ago. Adorned like the queen she is.
Fully embracing not only the style but also the culture, as they went hand in hand. Egyptians believed makeup and adorning yourself in gems, beads, and gold were signs that you were clean and took care of yourself. While also being status symbols and thought to bring someone power. Often times you would find eye shadows in shades of green and blue due to mined malachite, a copper carbonate pigment. Other shades that were often adorned were terracotta, and shades of brown and gray. Mesdemet liner was also often used made from galena, a lead sulfide ore, and crushed charcoal. Often mixed with gum, water, and sometimes animal fats to make a paste. It was thought to appease the gods, protect them from evil, and even give them good health, such as protection from eye ailments.
Jewelry was also seen as a form of protection and talismans of power. One again protection from the evil eye and would even guide those into the afterlife. Broad collar necklaces, known as wesekh, were the most popular worn adornments. They were most commonly worn by those of elite status and royalty. They could be made from an assortment of copper, gold, beads, stones, and jewels. Sometimes they would be made of flowers.

Designer Thoughts:
I was very excited to dive into this one and went to my roots as a kid. I was always intrigued by Ancient Egyptian society. While growing up I learned many interesting things about the culture, science, and ways of life of the Ancient Egyptians. Always with bated breath on new findings and research of their society. I am so glad that I got to explore their fashion and the reasons behind their fashion.
Much of their society and their fashion revolved around their ideas of health, good fortune, and protection often seen being provided by the Gods through what they wear. As many modern societies would probably call this superstition. It does give a lovely insight into how they may have approached other things in life. Well-know already are things like burial and its extensive process. To practical workings such as engineering of how they built grand structures, from pyramids to waterways, to tombs, and then some. I found it all fascinating.
I hope you enjoy a bit of the history lesson behind the choices of Cheska's fashion today. May this eternally inspiring fashion live forever as it still takes hold in new ways in our modern societies. Even giving inspiration still to fashion brands such as Dior, Elie Saab, Balmain, and Messika.

● Designer: Detrimentum ● Model: Eryn ● Challenge: #3 - Period. ● Outift Title: Memento of National Mourning ● Description:
I was unsure what period and fashion style to choose, not because I had no ideas, but because I had way too many! As such, I finally settled on doing something no one probably would and something more local for me.
When researching potential ideas I stumbled upon a great article about Protest Fashion in 19th-Century Poland and reading it, I remembered all of my history lessons during schooldays. The November Uprising was an armed rebellion by Poles against the Russian Empire. After the November Uprising failed and surrendered, Polish women wore black dresses to symbolise mourning for their lost homeland. From the article, I learned something interesting, namely the fact that these dresses were also used by women to hide smuggled publications or weapons. Reading the article and looking at the photos I felt a surge of patriotism and inspiration.
I tried to pose Eryn in such a way, that she would look like she's in an old-time photo, sat in a chair and posing. I based her pose and surroundings on real-life photos of portraits of Polish women dressed for national mourning.
Eryn's dress is meant to look like a black crinoline dress, over which she has a white collar matching with her white sleeves. This creates an illusion of wearing a blouse. On her neck sits a cross, as Christianity was very important for Poles during these hard periods of history. It was common that when the Polish language and culture were banned, churches were the only place where Poles were able to speak their native language and cultivate their culture.
To add to the sombre theme, Eryn has some dark makeup with a little tear dripping down her face.
For this challenge I wanted to take a risk and do a period outside of what one normally thinks of when they hear the words "period piece". For a long time I played around with a 1920s style flapper girl, but it didn't really fit Eunwoo's vibes and I couldnt get the shape I wanted. In doing more soul searching I finally landed on 1950's rockabilly!
I went with specifically rockabilly for two reasons. The first is because its extremely evocative of the era, especially thinking of one very popular figure of the time, Elivis, and one very popular film set in the time, Grease! The second reason was it lets me play with a look thats a lot less light than my previous looks for her while still letting her personality come through. Eunwoo can still show her natural softness and playfulness while in a slightly edgier look.
I knew right away the setting for the shoot, a diner with a jukebox is so evocative of the time. I also had to give her a milkshake for a prop to fit into the setting. Now it was just about finding the clothes.
A lot of research was next, I came away with a few features I knew I wanted in my look. The first was showing off her arms and legs, and the second was incorporating the signature polka-dots of the style somewhere in her look. I think what I landed on is a good representation of that! The lacey corset and the accesorry in her hair especially helped.
For her make up, I went heavy on the blush and darkened her lips while still keeping there natural shape. We had her give the camera a wink, turn some tunes on, and viola! As smooth as Grease Lightning!
Yours, Mew
