The Baudelaire Orphans are
In a land filled with happiness and love
in a land filled with woe and misery
just children who are not bright enough to know what goes on in the world

Yeah, I didn't like the idea about the marriage being at the end, but they put it all together so well. Now if only they could make another movie....But the girl who played Violet is probably much older now. She was sixteen when they were either making it or when it came out.

I loved the books heart
Just recently got books 12 and 13, but will have them read in a couple hours each. sweatdrop
Probably by saturday at the latest.
The movie was good, and it would be cool if another movie did come out.
I can imagine that if the movies would be continued, it would have to have been a long continuous film shoot though.
Off to read book 12.

I've never read the books, but the movie was interesting.

Turning to other matters: I cna't beleive the 13th book! *lashes out in rage* i bought the stinkin' thing and apparently wasted like nine bucks on a total cliffhanger! stressed scream and it was on my barnes&noble giftcard! ARG!!!!

Truth, it was the movie that got me into the series. I just couldn't get into it very well, but I read up to 11.

I read all 13 books.

They were pretty good. Thrilling, fun, interesting, a good read.

Only problem was, the ending SUCKED!

They didn't explain any of the main pts of the books, saying they were 'to evil for you to know'. Here's the thing: I want to know.

I was really disappointed with the ending, but the rest was okay.

the books are an interesting take on a fairy tale. where bad things will happen and you have to hope that the hero grows and learns from the mistakes made. that there is trajety in everyone's life

I thinktaht the books are ok i am not going to buy them all but if they were given to me i woudl read them i just wouldn't spend money on them

Lemony Snicket is hilarious. biggrin I never finshed the Unfortunate Events series, but his Unauthorized Autobiography was sheer brilliance! The movie tried to combine the first 3 books into 1 plot and was truly dreadful. *shudders*

I loved the books. I hated the ending. Who the hael was Beatrice, anyway? As much as I love Lemony Snicket, he could have explained things. I have all his books except his unauthorized autobiography. The Beatrice letters were disappointing. In the end, all I can do is hope that the rest of their story is a happy one. Even the thing with Olaf and the island in the end was.... a let down. But i guess it'd be hard for anyone to write a fitting, satisfying end to a series like that.

kinda wish it'd be better, though.
