So if we were to change the United State's primary langage all together, what should we chage it to?
  Japanese
  Latin
What does this have to do with anything?

I don't have to read this entire article to realize myself that this is a retarded idea.
I second this. It's difficult for me to read so much of that "simplified english". I mean, what about different dialects and accents? Certainly simplified British english wouldn't be the same as simplified New York english.

I have one word for you all:

Ghoti.

If you want, I also have another word for you:

Ghoughphtheightteeau.

Well, I for one, would hate to change it. Spelling is easier as it is now and I like it.!

if everyone stopped complaining and paid some damn attention in school, there would be no problem. simplified spelling would lack a standard, no one could understand a damn word, people could very well interpret the way things sounds in different ways.....

The very concept of a "simplified spelling" IMPLIES a standard.

Why Japanese?
I'd prefer Latin. Let's revive a dead language!

actually it's one of the simplest. you can throw words together and still get the meaning you want out of it, usually.

Latin is hard as hell but it has (according to some) a perfect grammar, so it's cool.

Personally, I just think that they are trying to make it simpler for the "slower" students that we seem to be producing lately. What about all the people who have already learned proper english? Should we all simply try to erase our memory and learn again a language that we are already fluent in? It may be difficult to learn grammar rules such as "there, their, and they're" or in which context to use "bear", but i think that can be a hurdle people can handle. This just promotes laziness, and would do god knows what to our society. I think its a terrible idea.

By the way, in case you didn't get it.

Ghoti is pronounced "Fish"

Ghoughphtheightteeau is pronounced "Potato"

Everything is fine the way it is. No need to fix something that isn't broken.

It is broken. We just deal with the glitches. Like a typical Microsoft product.

Hm...you are very well informed.
I agree. The English language is pleasent to hear
but hard to read, or pronounce.
