what is your biggest grammar pet peeve?

people use it way too much, sometimes for no reason.

This made me think of an essay I once read from Outpost Nine.

I absolutely hate pretty much all grammatical errors. It's mostly spelling, though. Proper word usage annoys me too. Words like too/two/to, were/we're, you're/your, are really annoying. If you need to use an apostrophe, use it! I hate when people say things like hell or were or shes or hes, because it confuses me and gets me frustrated. Also, when people use no punctuation at all, it's hard to tell what they're trying to say:

Jackie: r u goin 2 teh movies

... and nothing. It would be so much easier if people would just use proper words and punctuations.

Presumably you mean erroneously.

I all too often see people trying to overcorrect.

when people type "alot", replace 'you' and 'are' with "u" and "r", any sort of ghetto speak ["dis", "thys"], and when people use long vowels ["yooooooooooooo" or "okkkkkkkkkkkkk"].

That drives me crazy also. I also hate it when people type out something and put 'I' with out captizling it because they are talking about themslefs and should be.

YES! Precisely what I was going to say. It literally grates on my nerves every time I see someone use the wrong one. One girl in particular I know does it ALL the time (along with every other atrocious grammar mistake). It makes me want to stab people.

I hate it when my friends cannot spell really easy words. I mean come on, they are in high school!

For example he cannot spell the word "decide." He always spells it like this: "disside."

I find it very annoying.

Oh yeah, that's a big one. As well as the horrid chatspeak "r" for "are" or "our" and "u" for "you"/ "ur" for "you're"
Chatspeak's only original purpose was to make what your writing faster. But when I'm in a chat with someone, I'd rather think that they're actually paying attention to what we're talking about, rather than jot in an 'lol, u funy' and run off to their other convo. Excessive use of 'lol' is just irritating. I have seriously been talking about having to attend a funeral, and somebody said "lol." I just had to respond "...?" and they quickly said "*lol, that suks, lol" Buddy, meet my block list. Block list, meet buddy.
I know it seems a bit harsh, but really, they had been completely ignoring everything for a while, and it just really wasn't worth wasting time to talk to them.

My biggest pet peeve now is how the "S" has been replaced with a "Z" at the end of a word. Examples of this would be Bratz, Dogz, and Catz. That drives me up with wall!!!
