Thalon hesitated for a second before running towards Freyr. After he had taken two steps Thalon cried out in pain and was flung forward he landed face down perfectly still.

Jean was outraged when she saw Freyr act against her order. She closed her eyes for a second and calmed down before running towards Thalon as she saw him released. Jean had almost reached him when he fell down shocked as she hadn't attacked him and it didn't seem anyone was aiding her. When Jean reached Thalon she held her knife to the back of his neck. "please surrender and you will be pardoned if not well then is cut off his head which I would rather not do he will be more useful alive."

Freyr paused noting the situation in one calm moment. As Jean raced up to Thalon Freyr's back half side-stepped, fully facing Jean and her hostage, with Morhinghan and her package well out-of-reach of the scientist. As Jean reached down to Thalon Freyr's hand slid impossibly quick over his shoulder and just as the scientist looked up to deliver her threat the great Chimera leveled a rifle at her head.

This wasn't any normal rifle, the slick black barrel was far larger than a standard gun, and several small shoots fed into the casing. This was an energy rifle, and Freyr knew quite well how to use it.

"Which is more valuable to you? His life or yours?" The Chimera sneered, his voice had dropped lower and colder than anyone who had ever known him would have beleived possible. "I am Ex-SOLDIER... I will not hesitate to kill you, my trigger-finger is faster than your knives, and you should know that even a stab through my heart or a bullet in my brain won't stop me. If he dies... you do, but if you leave now... you MIGHT just live to pursue them another day." Freyr could not stand threats, nor could he stand people who hunted others. This 'Jean' person had pushed one button too many for the normally cheerful Chimera. His face said that quite clearly.

Morhighan

Morhighan stayed silent. It was a very intense moment and the wrong move could ruin their safety.
She was fascinated as the freindly centauric being that had hoped to rescue them changed his mood dramatically, but payed more attention to Thalon. What had caused his sudden collapse? Was he acting?
Morhighan frowned and anylized the situation, trying to see what she could possibly do to help.
Should she attack? She had a gun stowed on her person along with the sword...
She pondered a bit then decided to act when something happened.
She could always just run, anyway.

Jean stared into the barrel for a few seconds a shocked expression on her face. Putting her hand inside her pocket she waited before speaking irritably "Well his life of course I am the lowly scientist of a dead company, you really can't expect me to sacrifice myself though. So how about this I tell you about the button my hand is resting on that will signal an escort of 20 Shin-Ra rifle men and 2 SOLDIER. That would be sufficient to distract you well I run off with Mr. Helpless here" as the last line was spoken Jean's knee jabbed into Thalon's side drawing a whimper from the fallen man.

Morhighan frowned.
That had certainly not been planned and she didn't have time to think up a scenario for escaping this one.
She closed her eyes breifly, searching through the air for a telepathic connection line...ah-ha! She located it and started a transmission.
"Chimeric Centaur, a good freind once gave me advice. It was, 'Never Trust a Pirate.'" She chuckled inwardly. "I suppose that my mutinous pirate blood has risen again in the circumstances. I nearly left you here with that kid, dor dead."
She paused to let the information of her almost desertation sink in.
"When I distract her grab the kid and bolt. You should be pretty fast, I assume. I'll distract the Shinra lackies while you flee."
She slipped down off of Freyr's, severing the link immediatly after she gave Freyr the message.
She shifted the bag behind her arm so that the scientist couldn't grab it and slowly neared the two. She stepped over Thalon's body stared at the scientist, her hands up in a peaceful gesture.
"Why don't you put that trinket down?" She asked Jean, her left arm moving suddenly, aiming to knock the button out of Jean's grip.

Freyr stared at Jean for the space of several seconds, his eyes locking with hers wordlessly, He made no indication he had heard Morhinghan, or anything else. However even as Jean stared up at him he moved lightning fast, He had very subtly shifted his weight to his back quarters allowing his paws to lift off the ground. Before anyone could blink or react his claws wrapped around the blade of Jean's knife, sliding between the sharp edge and Thalon's neck. Each of Freyr's claws was 5 inches long, 2 inches tall and an inch thick at the base, tapering to wickedly curved needle-like points. In one motion he dragged the blade away from the fallen man. In the next motion his other paw leapt forward wrapping around Jean's head. The razor-sharp claws pressed painfully against the back of her skull even as the Chimera forced her backwards against the ground. One paw was more than enough to completely cover her face, as it was a foot and a half wide. "I'm not afraid of SOLDIERs or snipers." Freyr said calmly, even though Jean could no longer see him. "All I have to do now is step down... I weigh nearly 900 pounds... can you survive that kind of pressure?" His gaze turned to Morhinghan, "Get him on to my back," He said gesturing with one hand to Thalon. "Quickly."

Morhighan nodded quickly, mutely surprised by Freyr's forcefulness.
She approached Thalon and picked him up with ease, swinging him carefully onto Freyr's back, then swinging herself up, supporting Thalon's limp form so that it would not slide off of the back of the chimeric centaur.
She clutched her head, suddenly aware of the awakening prescence of her host. If the weakling came out now it would cause some problems...

((Mako Morhi's starting absorb normal Morhighan's conciousness which is why she is being so nice. Pretty soon Normal Morhi will be the Mako one and Mako chick won't be so unstable. Yay, explanations.))

Jean looked rather calm for being in such a situation "well actually I really don't think I could handle 900 pounds. I really however don't think it's an issue, you won't step on me" she said sounding certain

Thalon looked up at Freyr "I would really prefer you didn't it would make such a terrible mess it would be all icky and organy, not very pretty at all" he was then very suddenly standing next to Freyr "so um how bout I follow you you're big and muscular I bet you can protect me from all sorts of evil scientists." He then happily started skipping off holding a gun in each hand

Morhighan tiwtched.
Thalon had somehow slipped out of her grasp and was skipping about in a conscious manner.
Her headache must have been terrible, she concluded, to have not noticed Thalon wake up. Perhaps she was fainting?
She clutched the bag to herself tightly afraid that she might lose it if she fell unconcious.

Freyr froze in stunned amazement as Thalon simply wandered off, His stern demeanor vanished as he glanced between the skipping Thalon and the prone Jean, "Where are you going?" He finally called after Thalon, "I was trying to help, We... aren't you...?" In simple confusion he released Jean's head from his grasp, staring after Thalon in puzzlement, He twisted to glance at Morhinghan who was still on his back. This situation was making less and less sense to the poor Chimera

Thalon grinned broadly as he stopped and turned around. "well really this is the way we're going isn't it?" he tuned around skipping off again twirling his guns on his fingers as he went.

Jean began to slowly edge away hoping to be able to flee alive.

"I...don't get it either," Morhighan anounced to Freyr.
"However, this is not the time for confusion. The little rat seems to be trying to make an escape."
She pointed at Jean.

Jean allowed her body to fall the two or so inches to the ground.
"Er, well... you do realize that by killing me" all she could come up with is You will have removed a person that has ruined millions of peoples lives and spent years slowly destroying the Planet and that she figured was not an appropriate thing to say at the time.
"I'd make a much more valuable hostage then corpse" Jean wasn't so sure that this was the right thing to say either but she figured she would give it a try.

Thalon flinched as Jean said corpse and yelled in a extremely teenage girly voice
"EEEEEEWWWWW! Corpses are icky icky ICKY! Mr. Beastlyman don't make her a corpse, please." Before he could respond Thalon jumped towards Freyr and hugged his human half, somewhere in the leap his guns had been hidden.
"Thanks so much for not turning her into a corpse, well come on let us be going now we wouldn't want to be late would we Mr. Beastlyman" Thalon paused to think for a second and spoke to Morhighan.
"You're kinda weird but you can come too!"

Like I have a choice, Morhighan voiced in her mind. She was basically riding 'Mr. Beastlyman.'
She nodded her acquiescence, then stopped for a second.
"Why does everybody think I'm weird?" She whined.
"Got something against old people? Got something against parasites."
She sighed in a fake huff.

((I'm beggining to see a trend of "You're weird." in the guild. XD Thank god we're all crazy! mrgreen ))
