I'm in college and honestly the goth population in northern Florida is horrid.

However, I've found a lot of people who are intrigued and very receptive towards the whole style, subculture.

Although, I would urge you not to choose your school purely on goth population, if that is indeed one of your requirements. I got accepted to a school with a bigger subculture, however had I done that I wouldn't be getting the chance to study abroad this fall and I wouldn't have some of the other chances I have now.

Good luck with your college process! Once it's over you'll be happy. ^^

I'm in Canada and I haven't heard of any big problems with goths at any of our schools here... sure we are few in number, hell, I stick out like a sore thumb when I'm walkin' around!

I'm in 2nd year, in the process of changing schools.... not because of any lifestyle reasons. mrgreen I'm goign to an aggie school to cause mayhem!!!!

Come to stormy ol' blighty, we have hundreds of goths, plus the Dracula festival in Whitby and college is free for 7 years. And loads of castles too, everyone loves castles.

Yup, the naturally gloomy weather helps avoid tans for 9 months out of the year.

Uni isn't free anymore >.< crying student loans and debt all the way unless you become a nurse or teacher, if you're a foreign student you have to pay anyway.

Funny thing, I was gonna become a teacher, then I met one and decided it was a very bad idea.

You get free up to 18, then you're on your own and left out to the vultures: the loan companies.

Ah, damn, that reminds me, I've gotta pay for next year's tuition, s**t!

As for teaching, there's too little money for the job, essentially a child-wrangler. They're also getting worse through the progressive generations, become a teacher now and you're putting everything from your sanity to your dignity on the line....

I wanted to, then I just paid attention to the kids. Decided to become an accountant instead, numbers don't talk back....
(and you get a shitload of money, more music and gigs!)
