Yyyyeah, we made up that whole thing about the Revolutionary War. The government didn't want anyone to know we were actually ruled by the damn commies up until the 60's.
It sounds interesting. I'll look it up when the internet stops being ghey.
And why is that? People in ancient China believed that just as much as people in ancient Rome believed the stories about Jupiter.

See, History is usually written by the winners. It lacks a lot of credibility this way. Like Lincoln. He screwed all his slaves. He was not the noblest man alive... he was not the nicest, either. Publicly ignored activists and such... He was kind of bitchy sometimes, but we all know him as a great man. But he was a politician for Christ's sake. They really haven't changed that much over the centuries. Meh. But the thing is that you just made up the Jupiter analogy. Ancient Rome's myths on Jupiter DO make sense in a METAPHORICAL realm, where, Jupiter represented other THINGS. Are you sure you mean Rome and not Greece?

Only Lincoln didn't have any slaves cry And in any case, the things we know are true. If you know the historical truth, and I know the historical truth, then... history is true.
I wanna try that water thing now. I don't own a Microscope or anything, but I'll mooch it off one of the nerdsI know.
Jupiter wasn't a big metaphor. He was um a God that people believed in. Yes, there are lessons in alot of their stories, but they still believed it was true.

But water with "Heaven" made me feel refreshed. The one with "Hell" on it, I felt like s**t the next day. My experiment was NOT controlled, though, so it could just be that I caught a cold, came down with something... A coincidence. You so just made that up. Jupiter WAS a metaphor. Just like Adam and Eve are metaphors in the bible. They believed it was true, because it was true. It represented true events. That's what a metaphor is; something that represents something else.

That's a weird typo. Are we convinced now that history is true? Jupiter existed as a God. One day, some dude was all "Man, check out that lightning" "Aw yeah man... that's totally Jupiter's fault." Or Zeus, I guess they had alot in common, so it's cool yo. As for Adam and Eve, they may have been originally metaphors or whatever, but go ask some Christian who the first man and woman were. Adam and Eve. To someone who believes in what the bible says, Adam and Eve aren't metaphors, they were real people who actually lived in Eden and s**t.

Mentally. I don't want to you convince me anything; it's tainted. Furthermore, you don't know two-shits about Greek Mythology, then. Because just like MOST ancient texts, GOD is a metaphor of EXISTENCE. Christains who say such are mindless bimbos (actually, just poorly educated in the area). Just because they say it doesn't mean it's the truth. It's been proven from loads of research that it was a metaphor. I believe the bible, metaphorically. So you can't say people that believe the bible take it word for word. Actually, I do take it word for word. How it was intended.

It's not a question of what things actually mean, it's a matter of what people believe. People believe Adam and Eve were the first human beings. Ancient Chinese believe ghosts are made of ki. The first guy who wrote the Adam and Eve story, or told someone ghosts were made of magic energy could have been totally shitfaced. It doesn't matter, because people believed him. Priests will tell you Adam and Eve were the first people God created. Are they wrong? No, they're priests, they know all about that s**t. That doesn't mean it's not retarded.

This was about what was true and what wasn't. You compared Jupiter to Ki. I was saying Ki is real. You said it wasn't real, in comparison to Jupiter and those wild myths. WASN'T REAL. TRUE. Not believed. This discussion was about the truth. =/ Way to change the subject.

And as far as Chinese and Ki and ghosts go, I could be wrong on that.
Chinese and Japanese tend to fear, and dislike the undead. It isn't so likely that they are made of a good, clean substance. But those are ghouls. It really depends on what kind of ghost you're talking about.

People used to believe Jupiter existed, but that doesn't mean it was true. I wasn't changing the subject, it was a kind of example to show that. It didn't turn out very well, but whatev.

So have UFOs flying in and out of our airspace. Some proof is less true than other proofs, unfortunately, because their reasoning for the end product is wrong.
Like way back when, the plague came about. It was definately definately God punishing them for soemthing, so that was proof that he existed (except to the muslims, because apparently they're the only ones to think RATS! IT MUST BE THE RATS!).
Or if someone said "This big log and this small log will fall at the same speed, because their natural wood energy weighs the same". The logs fall at the same speed, so the person assumes it's because of the natural wood energy.

The logs fall at the same speed, so the person assumes it's because of the natural wood energy. And I believe UFOs are real. :] Because there is a lot of proof towards it, as vague as it is. That's a poor syllogism. The plague has gone about. The Bible says God punishes people. Therefore, God exists. Poor connections. Though they are true, and the arguement is valid, it is weak, and bears little or no truths. Statements one and two are what we like to call Post Hoc. The Bible says God Punishes people. People, after times of "sin," suddenly come up with the plague, and it becomes an epidemic. They conclude that God is the cause of the illness. That person who made the wood assumption made this assumption without first concluding fact. Ki does not contradict any fact, nor is it aligned with fact (such as this "energy" is aligned with "gravity"). Ki has always been it's own concept.

The concept of ki is retarded if you think it's like, real physical s**t that helps you move/run/lift/whatever, because LOL THAT'S WHAT WE HAVE MUSCLES FOR biggrin DDDDDDD
