I had always thought that "dreamed" was the American version of the word and "dreamt" the British one, but after checking four different dictionaries (Merriam-Webster, Dictionary.com, Cambridge and Collins -I'm such a dictionary freak sweatdrop ) I would venture to say that there's no real difference and you can use both words.

Depends on the context.
"She dreamed a dream that night."
"She dreampt that night."

And no, I don't think that is correct. You can say "She dreamed that night." as well.
