|| = N?

Won't let you use reverse slashes here.
Also, atm is actually 'at the moment'.

Depends on how you are using it. ANd I have seen it various times used as At the mall but never as at the moment.

I've never seebn at the mall, always at the moment...

And, while FTW can be for the win, some sites will filter out WTF, and people will FTW instead.

Time to share my two cents about this:

Fayle Phail Phayl ~.. (Goes on) =Often used variations of the word "Fail", which recently started to supplant "You lose" and "That sucked".

kek =No idea of the logic behind this, but it is used to replace "LOL".

NS =Used in online FPS (First Person Shooters) games, standing for "Nice shot", usually to praise an headshot.

--

I couldn't think of more at the moment. Lack of information to share never stopped me from posting what I know.

Also I would like to point out that even some of us may, at some point, use those depending on the situation.
Quick example:
In starcraft (PC game), after a game's winner has been announced, we generally say "gg", as the game only allows us a few seconds before kicking us all back to the main server channel.

There are several things that shock me about this thread:

1. That someone would make this crap up.

2. That someone would go to the trouble of making a dictionary for said crap (though I do appreciate it; never knew half that stuff existed).

3. That people can actually read said crap.

4. That I bothered reading dictionary for said crap.

5. That dictionary for said crap is actually useful and a necessity for any and all literates.

Thanks for actually making this. Now maybe I will understand when my friends talk.

I knew almost all of those expect for maybe two or three. But, please for the love of the Holy Peanut Butter, explain to me how do you get the word "mall" out of "mrk" or whatever it was? Mall has no "k" or "r"....

Well, you failed to have the one "txt" talk saying that I do not know, and that is "Kl." What exactly does "kl" mean?
It's driving me up the walls when people say it, I don't know what it means

I'd like to add to this as well...
NOTE: The object of "txt-talk" on cellphones is to make the words you need to use as short as possible to save space. Example: " da objct of txt tlk n cel s 2 make da wrds u nid 2 use as short as pssible 2 save space. " But at the same time, be understood by the person you're texting. lol. So for me, in my own opinion and no offense meant, it doesn't make sense to use "ish" as "is" or etc., and this is only applicable on cellphones, of course. Not PC talk.

Lyk = like
dis = this
2 = to or too or two (of course)
4 = for
abwt = about
wat or wot = what
wer = where or were
hu = who
wen = when
soz = sorry
nm = not much
np = no problem
dunno = don't know
kno = know
s = is
brb= be right back
L8r = later
w8 = wait
c u = see you
ttyl = talk to you later
bbl = be back later
nid = need
m8 = mate
L8 = late
b = be
pls = please
kol = call
wid = with
widin = within
wud = would
cud = could
shud = should
4 u = for you
der = there
yr = year
ader or oder = other
anoder = another
lyf = life
y = why
r = are
wyf = wife
mader = mother
fader = father
sis = sister
bro = brother
spose = suppose
dey = they
frens = friends
mayb = maybe
wtg = way to go
4get = forget
4giv = forgive
den = then

Lastly, I must say that "txt talk" on cellphones are sometimes necessary esp. if you have a monthly quota or limit like I do. I am guilty for using "txt-talk" on cellphones. However, I do not use "txt-talk" here or in writing. My parents totally refuse to have my little sister text her friends or family using "txt talk", she is only 13 years old and is still working on her spelling. My parents feel that this texting or "text-talk" will make her confuse and will end up getting use to spelling her words that way, meaning the wrong way. I don't know if that is over acting on their part but thought I'd mention it here. Might be a wrong thread too so forgive me, as I am new still fairly new.

Good day smile
