[p o c k y `]

I speak English and Korean equally and I am currently learning Japanese and French. :]] At home I usually speak "Konglish."

I speak Konglish too! Although I try my best to actually say most of the Korean words...

I hear my mother and her best friend speak a little bit of Japanese.. and for some reason it amuses them eek I know bits and pieces of Japanese from watching anime... and my mother's random babbles.

I am also a beginner in Indonesian, and also know how to bargain in the markets! lol Well, my Indonesian teacher loves teaching extraordinary things. (Selamat malam! Apa Kabar? Baik, terima kasih. Sampai jumpa!)

And of course, I know english.

Do you know languages other than English?

I thought you'd never ask! surprised

I'm pretty good with Spanish and German, and can at least understand written Dutch and Italian. I'm somewhat "learning" Russian (and by "learning" I mean verrrry slowly) and might someday learn Welsh.

And if there's any dead language I'll learn, it's Old English.

Languages rock.

Let's see...
I know English (of course), I'm going into Honours German 3 this upcoming school year, as well as Japanese II, I studied a little bit of French before going to France last summer, and I know a slight bit of Spanish (mainly because I live in the southern part of town where all the Spanish-speaking people are).

I'd like to learn more, though. Next on my list of learning is Russian, then Italian, Arabic, Chinese, and maybe Polish and Sweedish.

Well, I'm fluent in English, I grew up learning Hebrew from my relatives (although I don't use much anymore), and right now, I'm learning Italian. I've studied Spanish for a while, and right now, I want to try and learn a bit of Greek, Russian, French, Hungarian, Dutch and German. I just feel kind of stupid when I say that I want to learn something like Chinese or Japanese or Korean, and even then, I don't even know any of the languages that are correspondent to my ethnicity. So I figured, if I'm going to learn any foreign languages, I should know a thing or two about the languages of my ancestors.

I study Spanish, Malaysian/Indonesian and Irish. (I just started Irish recently, but I've been doing Spanish for a few years now.)

I'm a Muslim, an Asian.
English is my first language, hence I am speaking it perfectly. Punjabi comes next, followed by Urdu. And yes, there is a difference!
Punjabi looks a bit like Hindi writing, and Urdu is completely different.
I understand it more than I speak it. I am also familiar with Arabic. smile

My mother tongue is Spanish, but I was born in the United States and lived there for about 6 years of my life, so I'm completely fluent in English aswell. I've gone to a French school since I'm three years old, so I'm also fluent in French. I've studied Latin for 3 years, and I've just started learning German. Chinese will be next! biggrin

I speak Japanese. I also understand Tagalog which is the main language of the Philippines, I think.

English is my first language, but I also know Dutch since I lived in the Netherlands for five years. Starting my German II course soon, as well.

I speak 47 languages including English, and 46 I made up myself.

I know a bit of Spanish and a little bit of Japanese*.

*Which I NEVER use because this little bit is mainly comprised of words such as "kawaii" and "sugoi" and it irritates me to no end when I see people using only these words.

"Hey! Look at me! I speak Japanese and that makes me cool because I can repeat two words I just now learned! Isn't it so kawaii?"

I hate when people do that. It's irrating. Especially since most of them claim to actually know Japanese (if someone who actually does know the language and does that, then I can't take them seriously).

I really get annoyed when I hear, "Kawaii, desu ne?" It irks me to no end.

I only really know one phrase in Japanese, actually. "Watashi wa anata ga do ni sunde iru ka shitte iru." It means "I know where you live."

Real useful. rolleyes Thus, "I don't speak Japanese."

Hokey Kokey...
Well I was brought up bilingual in English and German, so I am extremely proficient in those two. However, do not even TRY asking me to explain any German grammar. I can't. I simply use it instinctively [that said, it is also not 100% perfect].
I studied French for five years, but through disuse I'm not as good with it as I used to be speaking-wise. I studied Spanish for a year but couldn't get it for some reason... But I can pretty much read it...
I studied Japanese for a year and am currently on a four and a half month home stay program in Japan, so my Japanese is getting quite good I would say.

As for languages I'd like to learn in the future, I think I'd like to take up Korean, Swedish and Italian.
