Nell didn't get offended but only chuckled softly so her friend wouldn't hear. "I suppose, but the only girls I've ever really been around are my sisters and they sometimes acted this way. So...I guess?" The dark skinned girl had no real answer to that question: she couldn't say no because that would seem like she was being mean to Caitlin and she couldn't say yes because she wasn't sure if it was just all girls or girls that suddenly had crushes. So she stuck with indecisiveness.

Suddenly, Dhylan felt someone bump into him. Yet again, it was a girl. "Oh no, it's not your fault. I must be standing in the way or something, because a lot of girls have been bumping into me today." he said with a grin and a small laugh. He'd never talked to so many girls in his life. Why they kept running into him, he didn't know, and he didn't care. He was just glad to make some new friends. "I'm Dhylan. Dhylan Nolynn. But most people call me Dhyl... except for that bloody second year girl..." he said, mumbling the last bit to himself. That Heather girl had insisted on calling him Pickle, which he did not prefer.

Marina smiled. "So where do you live? I'm from Whitby, I live right by the River Esk." She wondered if Cloe was homesick. She wasn't, but she did miss her family.

"I'm from around Eyam. We live just outside the village. Lots of sheep around." She said. "I like sheep. They're peaceful,"

"So Whitby? I went there once, when I was little. I got a jet necklace from one of the shops. I lost it though." She brightened a little as a old memory surfaced. "My dad hit a seagull with a stunning spell because it was trying to steal our roast potatoes!"

She smiled at the memory. There hadn't been many muggles around so he hadn't got into trouble. They'd gone in the off-peak season because Cloe's mum didn't want to have to put up with muggles.

Marina giggled. For some reason, the thought of sheep always made her laugh. "I wish Whitby had some sheep." She grinned at the thought of Cloe's visit to Whitby, with seagulls attempting to steal her potato. "Yeah, those seagulls are right little buggers. They annoy the heck out of me."

Jack laughed, “That’d be terrible. What if it ended up snowing too and they had to go look for our bodies?” Okay maybe that was kind of a depressing thought. Jack looked back and forth at the other students. Groups were definitely continuing to form. It was kind of sad knowing that a lot of them might end up being split up in the end due to sorting. At least they might have classes together or at lest free time.

Gracie giggled at his statement. It was a morbid thought, but the young girl found it particularly funny. Most likely because Jack had said it. It also probably had something to do with the fact that she was cold, hungry, and tired, which combined made her a bit loopy. "I sure hope it doesn't get to that point." She said. "I'd much prefer my body not be buried by snow."

Cloe giggled at Marina's profanity. "We had seagull right outside our bedroom window at the hotel. We were on the third floor and at first I thought it was a donkey outside the window, the sounds it was making were so loud."

Seagulls came inland at winter and she often watched them in the playing fields of Eyam school, eating the scraps kids had left behind after break.

Cloelia thought hard about Marina's question. "Well, when I was little I dreamed about going to London and doing something glamorous, like becoming a singer for the Weird Sisters or something. But there's been a Judge in residence around Eyam since before the separation of the magical and muggle world. Breaking that kind of longstanding tradition would be...I don't know...kind of wrong, you know? My Dad's really proud of it and I'd hate to disappoint him and all my ancestors."
