( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

The sight of Tyrese made her heart ache in a different way than it would for Finn. Just seeing him so resigned, defeated by something that wasn't at all his fault. The entire rug had been ripped out from under him without warning, and even now he couldn't seem to find his own footing to hold himself up. Although her smile at first went unnoticed, she let it sit on her lips, eyebrows coming in together in worriment. Every part of her body ached to give him affection, even if it meant a single hug. But would she be out of line to do that? No. It was just a friendly huge between her and her husband's best friend. She sighed, the smile fading just a second. But within that second - something happened that she would have never thought ever in her life would have been possible. Everything slowed. Her thoughts scattered in surprise, shock threatening to widen her eyes as far as they could go. The purple that had glittered so affectionately towards the wolf now vibrated in a neon standstill. Her heart stopped in her chest, all breathing ceasing for the few seconds she felt his lips collide with the corner of her mouth. And even if they didn't touch directly on her partially parted lips, it was enough to send her mind spinning. Nothing could compare to this moment right now. It was a sense of betrayal, a hard smash to her heart that destroyed her 'brotherly' outlook she took on Tyrese. Instead, everything pieced together in a new puzzle - outlining the sides of her mind to give insight on the new Tyrese sparked within her thoughts and imaginations.

She said nothing. No words came to her lips. He left her speechless, the small tingle against the corner of her mouth heating to the point of wanting to touch to make sure her actual skin wasn't boiling. She had been through similar - but nothing like this. The several kisses from Jacob against her cheek or head when he would leave back to the clan and tell her that he'd always be there for her. He loved her, she knew that. She knew that she could never give him that same affection back like she wanted to before she met Finn. But by the time he finally came around, it was too late, and she had moved on to her loving honey brunette. But with Tyrese... Everything remained still. Only the sudden click of the heater accompanied the sound of her own heart beating frantically in her chest. It was panic. Panic, guilt, and sympathy. If Finn found out, she'd feel absolutely guilty for doing nothing but sitting here like a dumbfounded idiot; not once bothering to even try to stop Tyrese. But she hadn't expected it... Just like she hadn't expected to be thrown across the lawn. She didn't have future vision. She couldn't stop things in time like Finn could. Yet... She lunged forward, cautiously avoiding smashing her rib against his shoulder. She knew. She knew his emotions were off track. She had seen it many times before from friends and people at the bar. It was just something she came across almost every day when working downtown with people trying to drink away their troubles.

Instead, her arms wrapped around his head, bringing his cheek against her chest as she caressed his head in place. Her damp curls fell against his blue hair, her eyes squeezing shut in a maternal fashion. He needed to be loved. He needed to be shown that at least someone was there for him. That someone would be here to listen and get through his troubles with him. And sadly, it was the last person he might have expected. It was Bree. Someone he knew for almost five years yet they had never made a true connection. Not until now. Her arms remained tight around him, tears brimming to her eyes only to remain on her lashes. "..." Her exhale was a whisper, holding him almost like she would Finn in his state of depression. But to her, it wouldn't have the same sentimental value. And although that kiss would soon enough leave her thinking many nights on the couch over 'what ifs', she knew what had to be done in this single moment.

Tyrese knew how wrong that was, yet he still felt a sense of hope deep down, like he would get some response other than the obvious and well deserved. Bree wasn't going to cheat on her husband. And of course he wouldn't cause her to, normally. Because he respected her, and what she was to Finn. His books were as much inspired by her as they were by Finn, Finn talked about the woman so much that he came to admire their relationship. He'd always been aware of the type of person Aubrey Teagan was; the kind of wife she was, to sacrifice her dream because her husband lost his. He always knew she was the kind of woman any man should look for if they were in their right mind, but there had never been a reason for that to be anything more than platonic observation. He was in love with Lillian, and even when they weren't together he thought about her. In high school, Lillian Hall was his Aubrey Teagan, so what was he doing? That was stupid, and the longer the brunette was silent, the more it set in how stupid it was. Oh no! He didn't want to do what Lillian had done, he didn't want to ruin a family! He was so ashamed now that he couldn't even speak. What could he have said anyway? The wolf swallowed, gaze burning into the bed before peeking up at her; his blush was a near permanent color down his neck. That was so wrong! Finn would never forgive him. H-He just made a pass at his best friend's wife!

Ty covered his face with one hand, still half turned to the pregnant woman. "A-Aubrey, I'm sorry, That was..." Idiotic, desperate, stupid. And yet part of him still wanted to kiss her, like he didn't regret it. But he did. He brought his hand down, knowing sorry wasn't good enough for what just happened. He'd never wanted another woman before. He'd given Alex a chance, but couldn't make the final jump that meant letting go of Lillian and saying he loved him. They'd broken up because of that. And! At this exact moment, Lillian was somewhere still bearing the mark he had given her. So, for the love of Christ, what was he doing? He kept questioning, and yet the same misplaced desire was happy to cut in. Aubrey had yet to retaliate, he began to change stealing a look at her when he was suddenly wrapped in her arms. He was confused. what did this mean? Was she returning whatever sentiments he just threw at her? He couldn't tell. He was puzzled in that split second, his emotions no where and everywhere all at once until he felt numb on the outside. He only blinked, his expression becoming blank. He squinted dumbfound at the wall, feeling that part of him may be shedding tears, but on the surface he was a blank sheet. He began to shift, moving so both legs were on the mattress as he grabbed her wrist, face still confused as he hung his head and pulled away enough for his hair to be sprawled on her wrapped bust.

That was time on the beach had been an exception, he'd already been crying when Bree suddenly showed up. He always had a hard time stopping his tears once they got started, so he went with it. But that was it. It never felt right to cry in front of anyone who wasn't Lillian. Out of his uncles, and his friends, his own mother, and even Alex, it only felt okay with Lillian. H-He still wanted Lillian. He wanted her so he could continue being angry with her. He wanted her so he could touch her. He wanted her so it felt okay to let down all the barriers. and yet this was because of her. He didn't want to be anywhere near her! He was so, so confused! The wolf thought these things in only a second after grabbing Bree's wrist and pulling back. And all at once he was assaulted full on by emotions. His shoulders rose, trying to stop it and the painful feeling in his chest. It was like every pulse of his heart spread a new wave of pain through him. Before he knew it, he was sobbing, crumpled into Bree's lap. So hard that he could barely breath between tears. He hated this, he was hating every moment of this. He was hating and loving a woman who betrayed him. He was feeling something inexplicable for his best friend's wife. what was he doing anymore? What was going on? He was so confused and stretched in so many different directions. The moment he tried to stop the tears, both hands balled into the woman's sheets, his body would only seemed to become wracked with more emotions then he could pull back in. So he just gave in and cried, his thought ceased to contemplating anything else.

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

"I know..." She whispered above him, eyes partially opening to watch his head dip down in sorrow. His grip was gentle against her wrists, her fingers just barely pulling into her palms in resignation. He had pulled her from her vice grip on him, but nothing would retire her sympathy for him. Nothing would tear that family love she felt for the wolf settling in front of her. The mattress shifted, her eyes darting down to see him settle not less than a second in his new position. She wanted to tell him that everything would be okay. She wanted to tell him that she would always be there for him, even if his ex-lover and best friend couldn't be. And although she had every right to do so - all words failed her. Instead, she allowed him to fall, watching him curl up like a needing child across her lap. Not once did she stop to tell him it wasn't okay. This was someone that needed every inch of comfort that she could portray to him without going over the line. This. This was why she felt she deserved to say everything she did to Lillian. This was what she wanted to show her. She wanted to show her everything the blond had done to someone that didn't once deserve all the pain settling on his shoulders. How many faces she had seen, cheek down on the wooden bar top with a glass of whiskey perched in their fingers? The perspiring drink would left teardrops of their own against skin to half the people that didn't deserve it. Both men and women alike.

Her hand came to rest along his shoulder, beginning a faint and gentle stroke against the side of his costume; to which she completely forgotten he even had on. Her teeth came together in a hard clench, making her lips thin into a line, eyes squinting at the man laying across her own bedspread. It didn't matter anymore if she was almost completely undressed in front of him - with nothing but her underwear and white bandaging around her chest. It shouldn't have mattered in the first place. He was someone needing some sort of protection, just as Jacob had protected her without even a question. Maybe she had spent too much time thinking he was her Jacob. This would be the opposite now. She was Tyrese's Jacob. She would expand her imaginary, feathered wings to sprawl over her and Tyrese, completely covering them in a black protective sheet of darkness while he would cry and confess anything he wanted to her. "I know..." She murmured again, her words just barely coming out as an audible sound. Continuing to stroke up and down his side in a soothing pattern, the other hand laid against the top of his hair, layering him in her own little capsule of comfort. Why did she have to do this to him? Why did Finn have to push him away like he was some sort of criminal? But then again, it almost felt like Finn was pushing everyone away as of late. The tears she summoned on her own remained in the corners of her eyes, a painful splurge beginning in the left side of her chest. Heartache. The tears pattering on her leg weren't her own... It made her wonder just how much he had been through that she hadn't seen... How much time he spent absolutely in despair like this.

Her heart ached in sympathy for Tyrese. If she had to sit here and do this until it stopped, then so be it. This was something bigger than she had made it seem. He wasn't just Finn's friend, he was her friend too. She had every right to comfort him until he calmed down... Even if that meant his heart would absently beat for something she couldn't have. It stung to know that... To know that she was possibly making a mistake that she couldn't take back. If that touch wasn't an accident, then she wouldn't know what to do. But for tonight, she'd let it pass like it was only a thanks of being here for him; just as it should be.

Tyrese hadn't cried like this when his mother died. In fact, Tyrese only remembered crying like this once before, back when he first came to internalize the feeling of being alone in the world. He could still see his seven-year-old self sobbing just like he was now, vulnerably huddled in a corner and thinking the loneliness was far too much to bear. That was the only other time he cried like this, perhaps in part for the same reason now as back then, and then some. He felt like he was so utterly broken down with tears that he couldn't be reserved like an adult; he felt more like a child when he cried: disruptive and uncensored, he hated it. He felt pathetic for it. He just couldn't comprehend this possibility. When he was first dating Lillian, he had never given her any reasons to doubt his loyalty. She never had to worry, she knew how he was, could have confidence he'd never see interest in anyone else. Even without that, he had told her he would be; it was plainly in his character to be faithful to Lillian. Even here in Soleil! He readily laid everything down the moment he learned Sela was his daughter. Wasn't there some things one should do regardless of circumstance? Be faithful, take responsibility, put the welfare of your family first. If you were with someone that you made a child, then there should be no question about these things, one would think. His intentions had been so innocent, too much so; all he wanted was Lillian, even now. It made this moment, this revelation, hurt the wolf so much more than he ever thought himself capable of feeling. Had she become bitter, or had doubt set in? Had he left her unsatisfied, although he'd followed her 'no sex' rule since that morning after the fall ball? He didn't know.

He didn't feel strange or embarrassed for crying in front of Aubrey like he thought he would. He actually felt relieved once everything decided to open up in front of her. After a while he even felt the mellow tired feeling you had once you cried everything out for a while. He wasn't sure how much time passed before he was to that point, but his eyes were heavy and he felt a little better. Physically better, at least. Aubrey had become warm and comfortable as he waited for his body to recover. He sniffled, then tried to pull his messy hair and disheveled everything else into some semblance of order and decency. He'd ended up telling her about the mark in his garbled sobs: what it was doing to him ever since their break up. He could still feel her, and he worried he'd never be able to make it fade. He couldn't explain how sacred that mark was after he gave it to her. There were no words, no way to define what kind of betrayal it was because of that one gesture. He'd wept over every promise he made the blonde since they reunited three weeks ago, the way he's surprised Lillian when asking her to the ball; even their discussion of having another child when Sela said she wanted a sibling, how his name would have been Austan. He even confessed that Sela didn't have his name, she was Sela Phobe Hall. The signs were right there all along, so how had he not seen them? Although he asked, rhetorically, he didn't think Aubrey knew. What was the man supposed to say when Sela grew up and wanted to know about these things? Of course she would ask what happened to their relationship, why her parents weren't together after having her! He didn't want to compromise his daughter's happiness. Lillian was supposed to be his, he thought they were complete together, but he was wrong.

He dried his face, still half flustered over his actions. That kiss shouldn't have happened no matter how he felt. He was going to pretend it never happened, and unless Finn found him later on and laid him out on his front porch, he was going to assume Bree would do the same. As unfair as it was to Finn. The wolf blushed, trying not to smudge his already smudged makeup even more. Was it possible to have feelings for Bree? They had been surprisingly kindred spirits anytime they hung out. Maybe he shouldn't ask that, but he wondered what his fate was supposed to be like. Finn and Bree were soul mates though. Koizora couldn't tell him who to be with or who not to be with, but it sure seemed to prove that those it matched up were longsuffering. Ty was finding it depressing. Where was his soul mate? And could that person rescue him from this? This pain? Would that person betray him? Would they drift away like Finn was drifting from Bree? This was why Ty never trusted relationships before, he was constantly forced to observe as they became like this, to him and to others. The wolf sighed heavily, pushing the thought back once more so he could function. He didn't want to, but he couldn't play the part of the invalid with his daughter sleeping downstairs.

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

She let him shed every tear he possibly could to his content. Whatever it meant to make him feel appreciated over all the complete bullshit that had happened to him over these past few days. Well, possibly more than that - but she didn't know. Even if she never knew, it would all be okay. Her body sank a bit lower into the bedding, legs holding still against the emotionally torn wolf. Both hands only continued in their stroking, an occasional optimistic and enlightened coo coming from her lips. One hand streamed her palm along the area from his shoulder down his bicep, back up, and down his side, slow and soothing. The sound of her hand against his shirt equaled out to fingers moving against paper. An artist's book full of cool colors reflecting to this very moment. A washed away blue to pink hue, relaxation in every stroke of the median. There were several minutes of uninterrupted silence, accompanied by the slight escape of a sob from Tyrese's parted lips. It broke her heart to see him like this. To see someone she thought so highly of in respect to remaining calm and collected in any situation, torn down from his highest peak. Turning her gaze away from him, she peered over to the ajar door, taking in a long inhale. If Finn were to come through the door at this very moment, would he question her and threaten Tyrese to leave? Would he make the blunette feel that much worse about his life, scramble to pick his daughter up and make him run for the hills because here he lie in a sorrowed stupor across his half-naked wife's lap? No. He would take one look at Tyrese and know that he had finally broken. He had reached his limit for this calamity.

Every word spoken from him reached listening ears. He had her full attention, the silent brunette taking in each and every detail he relayed to her. She could feel her heart swelling with adoration, melting away into a bubbly, heated anger and finally cooled off in both casings of disappointment and rage. To hear that he had made promises... Not moments after seeing her again. Promises that only someone like him or Finn could make to a girl like that - especially when the opposite was clearly not a soul mate as far as they were concerned. She stared at the door, willing for it to open and for a ghost of Lillian to peer in to watch the destruction she had caused in her wake. The thoughts alone filled her throat and chest with an upsetting amount of bile. And although she couldn't bare to hear another word of the absolute torture this blonde had put him through, she only caressed his blue locks and heavy arm with sincerity only she would be capable of. Her ribs throbbed, but she became numb to the feeling by now, a hot hatred replacing any form of pained wincing. What was the matter with this woman? The more he spoke about the agreements, the loving whispers tossed back and forth, and the promises he had planned to finish out for her, the hypothesis she formed that morning became all too real. So far, it was the only thing making sense. She wanted to get back at him. She was sick.

Releasing his hair, she reached over to grab the towel that was once wrapped around her torso. The kiss next to her mouth felt like a dream from now. Everything had moved so quickly, yet so undyingly slow at the exact same time. Her eyes only squinted down at him, mouth settled in a neutral line. What was he supposed to do now...? What could he do now...? Someone he longed and waited for throughout high school and over the past three years had abandoned all notions of love from him for one night with someone else. Did she not know the meaning of trust? The love and devotion Tyrese had so blatantly pressed into their relationship? She gripped the corner of the towel a little harder, firmly pressing it against her knee and just below his head, averting her eyes to think in her own calm and collected manner. If it were up to her, Tyrese would never have to deal with the woman again. He would move on to someone else, get to know them by scratch, and not expect them to "be the same person they were five years ago". She offered the smallest of shrugs, finally lifting the towel and brushing it ever so slightly against his cheeks. The make up would stick against the fibers of the towel but would easily wash out later.

"Let's go downstairs, Ty..." It was the first time she had ever called him by his favorable nickname. "I'll get you some blankets and pillows, okay..?" Her voice was soft, dripping with a honey-like sweetness. "We can go downstairs, eat some food, watch a movie... And sleep on it..." Her fingers moved up to gently fumble through the edges of his blue hair - such an odd color to her for something so natural. But then again, he was a werewolf. Was that really considered "natural"? God that pained look was making her want to curl up and cry herself. "We'll talk about it in the morning... I promise." She reached up to brush her own curls away from her face, tucking them back behind her ear, even though a few let loose and hung against her forehead and cheek. The purple remained swirling thoughtfully behind their brown, glass cases. "You're more than welcome to stay here as long as you like. If need be, I'll come over any time you want to talk, or even just to listen. As long as you need me to be here for you, I'll be here." Within reason. She had her own family to attend to, even if he needed to be coddled - so did she by her own spouse. Her head shook slightly, curls wavering back and forth to encase her face. "She may have taken something away from you, something that you're going to want back for a long time, but there will always be this-" She rubbed her finger against his cheek, stroking away any final tears that might have been threatening to come down, along with any makeup that smeared along the way. Her other hand gestured to the rest of this room, to this moment. "- right here for you." She wasn't crushing. Even if her heart ached to hold him at this very moment. He didn't make her heart beat like Finn did. But she still wanted to be there for him in his greatest time of need. If she could be there for Finn, even if their relationship was much, much different from her's and Tyrese's, then she could be there for him as well. Her gaze remained unwavering from his. "Don't you ever forget that..."

Tyrese felt the absence of substance in his stomach and the exhaustion of missing sleep for the past two days. That and the alcohol he consumed, he felt like the walking dead. He only imagined how Bree was feeling, not far off from himself. Scared for the life of her baby, then left behind by the person who was her soul mate; not her pretend significant other, but the one actually crafted and born to be with her. And yet here she was wounded and putting up with him in his time of need, her touch was calming and giving of devotion and the connection he needed. The way she weaved her fingers through his hair and dried his face. Even using his nickname for once, now of all times when it had the most impact. Being attentive and intimate while he was in his most vulnerable state mentally and physically. It was the touch of a true friend, but Ty could only perceive it as romantic. He still felt ashamed about it, but...Was this a sign she knew how he felt? Maybe she was unhappy with Finn, and needed comfort as well?

The wolf blinked up at her and nodded, tempted to brush her loose curls away from her eyes but going without. As much as he wanted to, he wouldn't touch her again. Whether she wanted like he was thinking she did or not, he still knew it was stupid and didn't want to hurt his friend or his friend's marriage. His navy orbs shone with gratitude instead, and he nodded again. And then she said "This..." Meaning her and Finn, motioning to this room, their family unit. The wolf scrambled off of the mattress and backed up a few steps. He didn't want to think about Finn right now. Ty was envious despite himself, and it was an ugly feeling. Something angry was still sitting deep down inside him too, the revenge he wanted against Lillian. However, revenge wouldn't happen this way. Finn came through for him most of the time, not quite when he first found out about Sela, Finn had known and said nothing. But! He helped him feel comfortable about stepping into Sela's life. Finn was a good friend, that was why Ty couldn't betray him. But not right now, right now Ty wanted to cut him out of the picture. He wanted his friend's wife. He thought.

The wolf fixed his clothing and shuffled his feet, feeling like he should say something or else this would grow awkward. He basically just threw himself away from her because she mentioned her husband. Then again, he'd thrown himself at her to begin with. This was a kind way to turn him down if that's what she was doing, considering he'd made a fool of himself. He was hit with a feeling of dejection and rejection, squirming uncomfortably where he stood. Trying to think of something to say didn't work, so for a third time he nodded before deciding to accept her extended kindness. Yeah, I would appreciate that." Sela would need the blankets. And he doubted he could hold anything down, so mostly he was followed her to attend to his daughter and try to get some rest. Glancing at the door, he exited first so she could get dressed, she was still sitting there in nothing but a towel and panties.

He lay on her lap for several more moments, her hand still brushing the corner of the brown cloth to dab away any smears and falling droplets from his eyes. Although she could have willed her water powers to lift them all from his face, she didn't want to. Having powers didn't mean making situations like this easier than they had to be. They were a blessing when it was something she could control, and that was all. An extra option added to the package of her own image. The smile faded in the slightest, curiosity and confusion standing in its place. She sat still, watching and not stopping him from scrambling up and away from his perch tearful. But instead of questioning it, she only let the towel fall from her hand and settled back onto her bottom, bringing her knees up to her chest in thought. "Well, you go downstairs and I'll be right behind you after I get dressed, okay?" She smiled warmly to him, feeling her cheeks brim with a pink warmth that couldn't be pushed away now. It wasn't what she had bargained for, but it was nice regardless. It was something special to see him put absolute trust in her. She couldn't understand why someone like Lillian would push that away - well, she could, but that didn't mean she could comprehend it completely. The person Lillian was had already been set in her mind. There was just no changing it now.

As he retreated from the room, she watched the now more open door for a few moments before exhaling a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. This had been an extremely emotional day. And to be honest, she wanted to just let it end in a dream that would take her far, far away from here. Maybe she really would leave to visit her parents once again. Throwing her glance towards her dresser, she scooted all the way off of the bed, toes falling back onto the familiar rug. She sighed. Oh she remembered the first time her feet touched this rug. Finn hadn't really minded just what she put in here and there, so long as it wasn't heavy and didn't have some sort of girlish taste to it. Then again, she liked to think she had a good palette when it came to complimentary colors. Her head shook again, hand flying up to brush against her forehead. The towel itself was left on the bed, the corner she used to wipe away his tears now stained black. The breeze of the heater gently blew against her hair, yet not enough to actually make it move anywhere. Its finger brushed the top of her head, the hand on it now moving down to press against the spot that Tyrese had kissed. Was it truly just a peck of gratitude? The words on the beach once again rang through her ears, eyes partially closing so she could stare at the handle she held onto in pondering confusion.

Whatever it was, he was sorry for it, and that's all that mattered. If it was meant to be for her cheek, then so be it. If it was meant for her head, then fine. But she knew he was going through a hard time right now. She knew that he needed to be coddled and held just like any child being sent through absolute hell at this very moment. Her throat bobbed with a slight swallow, her hands fumbling in to reach a light brown owl sweatshirt, pulling it up and over her head until it fell through the damp curls. Once it did, she reached up again to tug them out of the collar, then back down to find her black tights. This one would be a little more difficult, seeing she'd have to lean over and slip them on, bending her back and pressuring her ribs in the process. Grounding her pearly white teeth together, her lips curled back in pain, and she managed to step one leg in at a time, pulling them up so they slid snug against her legs. Last would come the socks. Taking a pair out of the drawer, she began to fumble backwards towards the bed, settling up on the side and lifting one leg once again at a time to slip the cozy sock over her foot. At least she would be fully dressed from now on. In something cozy, nevertheless. Shifting her weight back onto her feet, she turned her attention to the bed, remembering the medicine the doctor had given her. Taking them with her meal would fit best; if not, she feared she may throw them up within the hour. The bottle rattled needlessly in her palm. Once she made her way out of the bedroom, turning off the light behind her, she stopped to see Tyrese at the edge of the stairs, wandering around the hallway.

She cleared her throat, pausing around his right flank and reaching up to gently touch his shoulder. "Come on... I have the perfect movie in mind." Her voice lowered to accommodate the sleeping toddler downstairs. Er... Assumed sleeping - that's what Tyrese had told her before any of this. Quietly taking his wrist into her hand, she began to pull him down the stairs, having to hold onto the railing with her opposite. Though the steps down were more of a stumble, she tried with her might to continue to protect him mentally. Her imaginary wings would remain around him for the rest of the night. Up until the point that she felt he would be able to walk on two feet again. Reaching the bottom landing, she held herself still, looking up at him. "You go ahead to the couch... I'll fix us some plates." And with that, she moved off to the kitchen, releasing him and trying to tiptoe across the tile when she peered at the sleeping girl on the couch. How absolutely cute... Her lips pursed, a smile hidden beneath it as her cheeks sucked in. The bottle gave an occasional tip, making the pills fall from one side to the other and back again until she settled them on the counter.

Tyrese was told to go downstairs to wait for the brunette, but he found himself leaning against the wall across from the woman's door. He'd closed it on his way out, and now stared at the light flooding from beneath the door. It was dark in the hallway, so his eyes gave a nocturnal glitter as he crossed his arms. The pendulum of his mind swung again in its constant manner, becoming a two way conversation to himself. Being away from Aubrey Teagan now made him want to take Sela and go home. It also occurred to him to enter back into the room and do something he very well should not do. He felt like he was clinging to whoever there was to be close to right now. He didn't like it about himself, and yet felt like he couldn't control what actions he would take. Maybe he needed to be isolated, or maybe he should be with people. If he were by himself, he was going to sink into depression. and well, one could see what would happen if he was with someone else. The wolf blinked into the dark, sighing quietly. Eventually he sighed. dragging both hands down his face and swinging on his heel to lumber to the stairs.

He'd managed to settle into his upright position and get lost in his thoughts again when he jumped in account of Bree speaking from behind him, turning half way and letting her past. He blushed in the slightest when she touched his shoulder, resisting the shutter motivating him to shake her hand off of him. He then padded after her like a baby chick, having little choice since she had his wrist in her grasp anyway. "Oh...none for me." He grumbled, finding his voice more gruff than usual after his crying fit. Ty stopped at the bottom of the stairs, looking at Sela before moving to the ring of couches in the living room and sitting on the one next to her own. The toddler was sleeping okay for now, he leaned against the arm of the furniture to stroke her hair. Sela was sleeping so deeply, she didn't even notice.

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

She wobbled herself into the kitchen, padding along the light wood on the floor. The lights above the sink remained on, illuminating the room just enough so she could find her way over to her own plates. By now, she had become weak enough that she had to steady her hands onto the counters around herself. But she would push through it. There was nothing that could stop a Clark - not even a pregnant stomach and a broken rib. If she hadn't made that much clear... Then there would be nothing else she could do to tell them she was a strong woman. Maybe not so much physically - she didn't have ripped biceps or extremely toned calf muscles - but she could hold her own pretty well; including the emotional and mental state. She fumbled for a plate off the black bookshelf, carrying it over to the stove where Tyrese had prepared a meal. It was more than decent in her eyes - but that could be because she hadn't really had a meal since Sunday evening. And it was already Tuesday night - strumming awfully close to the later hours. Tomorrow she'd more than likely have to sneak out, or walk, to the store in order to get groceries if Finn planned on going to work. Sighing softly, she opened up a white drawer, sifting through the organized silverware to find a fork. Once she did, she gripped the metal between her thumb, pointer, and middle finger and stabbed for a piece of poultry settled on the small grill top. She wasn't hungry - that was for sure. The emotional turmoil left her more at queasy than anything else. But she knew she had to eat in order to sustain the energy she would need for tomorrow. And if she could just get herself and Tyrese to at least fall asleep... Her goal for tonight would be accomplished.

Returning through the living room with her plate plainly half-filled, she settled the plate and small plastic bin of pills onto the coffee table, relaxing her other hand against her broken rib as if it would fall out the further she leaned. She glanced over at Tyrese, watching him stroke his daughter's hair with every lasting love. Just the look he gave her would be enough for anyone to clasp their chest and 'aw' in exasperation. Resting her tongue against the roof of her mouth, she crept over to her bin of blankets, a woven basket that contained fuzzy, soft, and colorful pieces of fabric long enough to stretch over a six foot body, yet not thick enough to be considered a comforter. Picking out a light magenta colored one, he tip toed her way back over to Sela, extending it gently over the child's body. Once it laid flat, she slightly tucked it around her back, arms, and feet, making sure it remained snug against her. It would keep her warm, that was for sure. Again she walked back to the blankets, pulling out two or three for herself and Tyrese, but not walking them back until she started the movie. She had the perfect idea for this in her mind. She only hoped Tyrese enjoyed older movies... She plucked one out, sliding it into the now on DVD player and pushed herself back upwards, stumbling lightly on her knees.

The TV flickered to life, representing its brand name before skipping to the movie itself. Elizabeth Taylor poised in her nightgown, lipstick a vibrant red, eyes shining a bright blue, and hair short and black. She gave the viewers a rather seductive and daring look - a cat like position that clearly reflected the movie's title: Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. A white sticker reading '1958' remained in the corner. Soft music played from the tv's speakers, just barely loud enough for her to hear back on the couch. She threw a rather tired smile to Tyrese before hustling herself back to the kitchen in order for a drink. Her eyes suddenly fell to the liquor bottle settled on the counter and the drained glass next to it. Her lips parted, eyes glancing between the glass and the side of Tyrese's head, then back to the glass. He had made himself at home all right. And although her heart ached to do this, she filled the glass again and carried it back to them at the table. If he needed it, then she'd let him have it. But everyone needed to drink those memories away at some point or another. Even if they did come back full force. Placing both glasses onto the table, she sat herself on the other side of Tyrese, only an inch or two away. She didn't mind, nor did she see anything wrong with it. If anything, she felt closer to him in every way. She took a blanket into her hands, unraveling its black color and threw it over Tyrese's lap. Once he had his, she unleashed another one, seagreen this time to put over her self before grabbing her plate and settling back into the arm of the couch.

This... Was going to be much more relieving once she took the first bite.

Tyrese monitored the habit of his new stare, trying not to disturb the object caught in his gaze as he alternated his attention between subjects every few moments. He was still affectionately rearranging Sela's hair when Bree walked past with her plate fixed. He didn't respond to her presence at first, not until she dropped a blanket over the toddler. He exhaled, pulling it up on the the young wolf's shoulders and watching her face scrunch up. She was probably sensitive about scents just as he was. When he gratefully looked up at Aubrey, she had already moved to get more blankets and put on the movie she mentioned. He should have offered to help, she looked weak even if she was pretending she wasn't. If only because he didn't want to give her more attention than was appropriate between friends, he hoped Finn got back to properly get her off her feet and rest.

It took a very short time for Ty to recognize the movie Aubrey put on. He shifted away from Sela, sitting up straighter as he blinked at the screen. "Interesting choice." He hummed quietly, now distracted by the opening sequence. It made him think of his aunt, the woman on his mother's side of the family from whom he'd gotten his love for these types of movies. She said he reminded her of Cliff Robinson: a serious and very handsome, but underappreciated actor, and a true renaissance man on top of that; she said he was a good and honest man, and just like Ty, he always did what was right despite the consequences. Ty liked him in 'Sunday in New York" with its romantic humor. This movie was a good one too, because who could get enough of Elizabeth Taylor back then? Even watching the movie over a decade later, she was still pretty darn nice to look at.

Tyrese didn't even know Aubrey Teagan was into these sorts of things, he was impressed. He could show her his collection if ever she would visit his home. He opened his mouth to mention it until he caught the scent of the drink she brought him. His lips sealed together, his eyes clouding as he stared at the glass. He'd needed to take the edge off before when he first started drinking, he had every chance to do so since the woman owned a bar, so he did. The male cast her a look, seeing her understanding before his gaze jumped to the drink again. Even on an empty stomach, he was tempted, pursing his lips until a blanket was spread to his lap. He accepted it without moving his eyes, one hand pulling it further over as he tried to ignore how closely Bree sat to him. She smelled like soap where as he was used to the subtle sent of iron. She also seemed completely as ease, prompting him to grasp and down the cup of alcohol she had offered. Sliding down in his seat, he glared into the cup as the movie echoed in his ears.

The cup was set aside, the man still painfully aware of the soft body heat drifting off the brunette. He glanced at Sela, then observed Bree from his peripheral vision. Even he, Lillian, and Sela hadn't sat down together for anything other than a meal. There was a trip to the beach and one night where he slept over on the couch, but none of it was a family oriented activity like this was. Ty chuckled lowly and warily, easing into the couch and breathing in a slow, relaxed manner. Why did being around Bree have to feel like what he'd always wanted in a family setting? It was the feeling he expected to share with Lillian and yet didn't. Ty settled into the feeling, blinking tiredly and feeling oddly content here.

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

"Thank you..." She whispered in return, delighted to peak his interest. Her fork steadied into her hand, unpainted fingernails gently glowing against the cool light directed from the television. Initially, she had wanted her first movie with Tyrese to be Amadeus - something she had cooked up in her mind for a quite a while now. Ever since she gave him the nickname "Unlce Wolfie" back on the beach that warm fall night. The event seemed so far away from now, even if it only had happened three weeks and a day or so ago. She could remember each and every detail from her emerging from the crystal blue ocean to Finn and Tyrese's moonlit faces to see each other again after their first witnessed argument by Bree. It had torn her apart to see the two act as if they had never wanted to see the other. But from that point on, she knew where they each came from. One didn't want to tell the truth and possibly cause an allotted amount of pain to the other... While the second would not allow himself to see past the tunnel vision that came to essentially enlightening his friend as the 'bad guy'. She stabbed into the chicken, not once bothering to cut it into smaller chunks for herself. She doubted she would choke - she wasn't wolfing it down like some sort of starved animal. But at the same time she truly did not have the energy to cut it up. She could tear it into chunks, but her hands would simply get dirty. Too much work overall.

"It's one of my favorites..." By now the main husband, Brick, jumped his last hurdle in a drunken stupor, causing him to trip, fall, and break his ankle. He cringed and fell to the ground, rolling in agonizing pain that equaled out to her sight of Finn. The way his knee gave out on him during that basketball game. She shivered off the memory. But as she turned to Tyrese, she caught his hand lifting the glass to his lips, drowning his throat with liquor. Perhaps if she hadn't been a bartender that saw this on a regular basis, she may have felt worse for giving him the drink than he did. Not currently. Instead she watched the amber liquid disappear in thin air, drained away by a bitter swallow. Stopping her nibbling around the edges of chicken, she put the plate back down and tossed the blanket off onto his lap. It hadn't meant to be as quick as it did, and with a small heave, she realized how much getting up so quick actually hurt, but nevertheless she was on the move to the kitchen. She snatched the neck of the now half empty glass bottle, her eyes longing to take a taste of her own. She could not partake. No matter how badly she wanted it. Just to feel a sliver of a drop down her throat would have been enough... But that chance would be nothing but trouble. Even the thought of screwing over any chance she had with her unharmed child made her physically sick. A small lump of bile came towards her mouth before she quickly swallowed it down mid-throat. There would be none of that tonight. Not after all she had done the night before and this morning before Tyrese came into the room.

Lightly settling the base down onto the table, she gave a meaningful glance to Tyrese, easing herself back down onto the couch with another faint whisper. "Not to mention Paul Newman is just sexy when it comes down right to it." Picking her plate and settling it in her lap, she fish eyed him once again, only one eye searching his face for a hint of a smile. The bandages remained snug around her upper half, her sweatshirt shifting along her shoulders and arms. The plate remained on her lap, another few nibbles of chicken making it look as if a tiny piranha were going at it. She needed to eat. She just couldn't bring herself to do it. Even through all of the coddling and sympathy she had given to Tyrese, she still felt that twinge of emptiness. That one part of her that needed to be held and told it was going to be okay. She had ignored it up to now - having let it set in since yesterday when Finn strutted his way off to work without a single mention of her return besides a half-assed question of how her parents were. It hadn't really been anything to do with the trip. Hell, she could have gotten off the phone and he could have asked the exact same question to her face. He did ask, but sometimes... Well, sometimes she needed someone to talk to. And even in the past week and a half or so, they had done very little of that. She missed nights when she would come home from the bar to see her possibly waiting up for her. They were rare, considering his own work left him pretty tired, but they were still there.

After a few bites of corn, she finally compromised to herself that she would eat more the next day. There was just no way she could stuff something down she clearly didn't want. Not unless she wanted to hurl it back up straight after and cause even more damage to her rib lines. So instead, she reached forward to let the plate silently clatter onto the table, lifting the pill bottle to her face in order to read the directions. Just one every 4 to 6 hours. Two if she wasn't feeling any better. Sounded like Ibuprofen. Regardless, she screwed open the lid of the bottle and reached in past the small puff of cotton to pull one into her hand. To think.. The chemical make up of something so small could affect something so large in comparison to size. She sighed, slipping it into her mouth with her fingertips and rose the glass of water to her lips, bending it back just slightly to take a large swallow. One to push it down her throat, and the other to wash it down completely until she didn't feel it anymore. She set the glass down, pulling the covers back up towards her shoulders just as Tyrese did to his. Luckily for her, she was short enough tot he point that it would extend over her feet as well. Tilting her head back against the fabric of the couch, her eyes partially closed to watch the next few scenes. She wouldn't know when she fell asleep, but when she did, she fell hard. All the pain and exhaustion had finally brushed her away from her conscious self - making her susceptible to stimulating dreams or nightmares.

Her eyelids closed and her lips could barely be seen parting in the center. At a closer look, it would be obvious to see them separated enough to push a dime against and have it slip through with only a small delay. Her chest took on a deep breathing pattern, lifting slowly and lowering in the same paced movement. However, for the first couple of times, it kept her awake - making her slightly cringe with the extra amount of air filling her lungs. They would lift and press against her rib, startling herself back awake for the time being until finally her body would ignore the pain. It could have been the drug kicking in, but maybe it wasn't. Maybe it was the miles she had walked to get home. Or the small detour to the beach. Maybe it was the mental thoughts rushing through her head of exactly what happened over the last twenty four hours. Struggling to keep her eyes open was the real challenge. But she had failed - miserably at that and her body gave way to its exhausted slumber. Her hands fell onto her lap, one placed atop the other, as her legs slightly curled to the side. The clothing would keep her plenty warm for the night, the blanket more a sense of comfort than anything else. Slowly her head lolled over to Tyrese's shoulder, curls matting the side of her face. Her neck remained craned towards him, her cheek flattening out once her facial skin met the muscle between his bicep and shoulder. She hadn't been expecting it - but she was out like a light.

--"And leaving you behind..." She wasn't Finn, not just a best friend. She was his lover, had been, anyway. For someone who hated being touched, to share his body with her meant everything. And they shared so much more than that, he bore his soul to her and that was his all of all alls. "Leaving you was the worst decision I ever made. If I had known what was going to happen, I would have done things differently. If I had known anything, this would be a different story right now." But it wasn't. Just, just please don't leave!--

Tyrese stared into his empty glass, seeing a small sliver of liquid forming a ring at the bottom. It looked more of a burnt orange color, shimmering in the light of the tv. The drink splashed into his empty stomach, waking up that memory from the back of his mind. When he was trying to make Lillian hear him, know how he felt after being separated for four years. The thoughts and words that flooded his mind back then all came rushing back now. And had he'd seen THIS coming, would he still have done things differently? He could remember, not two hours after that moment, he was having sex with her on her couch. Grasping for some reminiscence of high school, just knowing if he went through with it then he would have that old feeling of being whole. Only Lillian made him feel that way. It wasn't just being inside her that did it, it was looking into her eyes and knowing everything that made her who she is was what made him feel whole. Her temper, her teasing, her strength and her weakness. He embraced it all as an extension of himself.

It was giving her that mark, imprinting her onto himself that took his thoughts of 'bearing his soul to her' and 'feeling whole' because of her and evolved them into realizations of 'giving his soul to her' and ''being a whole.' So now, rather than just feeling like Lillian had been taken away from him, he felt like he himself had been ripped in half and shreaded. A paper doll torn astrew and left behind. He even felt as if his ribcage had been laserated and left sitting open like the shutters of a window, the heart inside clearly gone. Tyrese shuttered, his grip on the glass becoming tighter as he leaned forward and refreshed its contents.

He'd been aware of the brunette the whole time, conscious of the way she haphazardly threw herself to and fro just to get around. She'd retrieved the bottle for him, made a sweet intentioned joke as she rejoined him. He raised a brow, slowly wrangling his gaze up to the television with a smirk. He even gave a small but amused snort before he took another sip from his glass. The look he received when he down his glass had gone no more unnoticed than the look on her face when Brick stirred her memories of Finn. As she currently watched the movie, he took her hand and squeezed gently, glancing over at her briefly so she knew: even now she had his support. It didn't matter how broken he was, he was aware of her pain too, and wanted the best for her.

He let go again once she got the message, a light blush on his cheeks as he blinked back to the screen. He then took another sip of his drink, feeling the edges of his mind cloud over. He closed his eyes and savored it, his thumb sliding along the perspiration on the glass. Tears. It reminded him of the many tears shed since that day in Pasadena. Lillian cried a lot of them, he probably hadn't shed as many until tonight. He thought, no, he knew he'd seen her cry after he marked her and they made love. Because his world had opened up so vastly, he had so much to communicate about what he felt. He'd achieved it, that one moment of knowing the universe through her, like they were twins: derived from one cell, yet becoming two separate beings. He was one with her again when they made love. He thought that was the thing his body told her back then, it was the reason he thought she'd broken down and cried.

So the thought of someone else being allowed to penetrate her, that she wanted to feel another man in the place only he had ever been. That whole universe was collapsed because of it. Coming back to himself, Tyresse wiped his eyes with the back of the hand holding his glass, giving a jolt when Bree slumped against him at the same time. That quickly, he was almost hyperventilating from the shock, quickly catching and holding the breath until he calmed down. The author peered down at the woman, seeing the light of the tv illuminate her soft features. He even dared say she looked angelic. Tyrese soon relaxed to her being against him, downing his glass and setting it aside before angling his head to see her better. His mind suddenly felt clear- if just for a moment, as he brushed his thumb lightly over her cheek before tucking her hair back on one side.

He knew she would be faithful to her husband even if their marriage was falling apart. Unless Finn did what Lillian had, then she would be by his side. Ty knew he couldn't steal her, couldn't have her body with the full confidence that she would guard herself because she knew she was a treasure. Couldn't preserve an eternity with her. Though, he would like to try. Knowing he shouldn't, but wanting to anyway. Just to have her nurturing caress to himself. He sighed, moving his hand away and dropping his head back. Well, he could at least pretend she was his; like he said before, Finn isn't home right now. A small smile curved his lips and faded again, his mind stirring throughout the night as he drifted into a half dream state.

Finn trudged up to his front door and hesitated in opening it. He was tired and broken. He just wanted to sleep in his bed next to his wife, whether she was mad at him or not. He needed her right now and yet, he couldn't bring himself to open the door. His mind kept flashing with the horrors he went through the night before. The things he saw and how they utterly terrified him. Turning, he propped the staff up against the side of the house and slumped against his front door. Sliding down to the cold cement, he dropped his head back and closed his eyes. Instantly the screams and wails echoed through his ears causing him to jerk and snap his eyes open. He looked like a piece of meat ready to be butchered. His bare feet were red from the cold and had a blister or two from walking all the way from the beach. His knee was killing him and the road rash on his back wasn't much better. He had dark bags under his eyes because no matter how much he tried to close them, all he saw was fire, demons and screaming. None of it would leave his mind!

Dropping his head into his hands, he heaved out a choked sob, running his hands through his hair. He wasn't sure he'd ever been so terrified in his entire life. It was a different kind of fear then thinking his wife and child were possibly dead. It was that kind of fear of you didn't know if you were going to die or not. Tortured beyond all recognition and still you feared the time your captor would finally end it all. He wanted to be able to close his eyes for more than a minute and not feel like terrified child who couldn't escape. His throat was starting to hurt as he kept as much of his silent sobs to himself, until he felt the door open behind him. His back fell back a little before catching himself and sitting back up. Looking over his shoulder, he heard the movie, and caught a glimpse of the two on the couch before the door was closed and his attention was diverted to the toddler standing beside him dressed as a little monster.

Rubbing his face a little to make him seem at least a little presentable, he looked at the child in confusion. "Sela? What are you doing up so early?" he asked, confused as to why she was even staying over at his house. "And where are you going?"
