It has been the preferred firearm of the Chiss Military for over three thousand years.
Though I am disapointed that Frozen Phoenix does not understand the concept of a maser.

i don't see how anything can be faster than a blaster bolt, since they move at the speed of light ~.o.

Blaster bolts visibly move slower than slugthrower projectiles.
Wtach the films sometime and compare Nospai.

actually, the bolts move at the speed of light. they're faster than the light trails that you see. you'll also note that objects will appear to be hit before the visible light strikes them.

It is not flawed because he is a fan. For obvious reasons I am a fan as well.
It is flawed because he is a human attempting to use human scientific ideas to comprehend superior chiss technology.

Whatdoes maser stand for?

if you mean for the Charric, then it means a visible electromagnetic wave carries the particle discharge to the opponent (as oposed to a simple chemical discharge having to propel it).
Basically your gun's ammo goes downrange faster than a blaster bolt.
You'll need a hydrogen cell as opposed to a blaster gas cartidge but other than that it works the same as a blaster.

No, I know what a maser is.

But you know how a Laser in the traditional sense does not reflect a SW laser concept? What are the real world uses for masers?

The Japanese have weaponised Maser beams they use to defend their shores against Kaiju.
