Koko grabbed the wreath before she headed out. She paused as she closed the door-sensing someone. When she turned Fayt was there waiting for her. "I get an escort?" she replied trying to give a small smile.
Fayt tried to return the smile. "Sorry about forgetting the wreath," he replied. "And about last night...."
Koko moved in and gave him a hug. "Forget about it," she replied. "Come on....lets get going."
Fayt took the wreath from her and both walked the couple of blocks to the funeral home.

[Research time~ I keep thinking I should make an "older" vampire since Judith is so recent compared to you two. But then I need to ask my friend what time her half of the couple would have come from. >> Most likely it'll be a couple days. Unless we were looking for more human characters]

Drake nodded and folded his arms, waiting for a suitable amount of time to elapse before they coud leave Koko's house without raising suspicion. he sat on one fo the stair's steps and looked down at Judith.
"Funerals huh?...how depressing." he said casually.
"Never been to one, never plan to."

Drake shrugged and leant on his kness, keeping his senses alert for anyone hanging around outside.
"executions used to be fun, though. But then after my dad was executed it kinda took out the entertainment value for me." he laughed bitterly.

((It could be a dimwitted investigator who believes in things others don't.....sort of like Fox Mulder in the X-Files...following leads and beliefs others wouldn't))
Fayt and Koko arrived on time. Nearly half the town was there too. Everyone exchanged their sympathies.
Fayt place the wreath by his mother's casket, and stared down at his mother. "It's like she's sleeping.....like she could just wake up any second," he said.
Koko only squeezed his shoulders in response.

"Yeah, well technically i was up for execution too. But my soon-to-be-sire said he'd help me escape if I served him so I got out of that one."
he paused and sratched the back of his head.
"I don't know how brushed up you are on your history, but back when Henry VIII was on the throne there was this rebellion called 'the pilgramage of grace'. My family were nobles with a decent breeding and we were catholic - like most people. The king had treated his catholic wife badly in trying to divorce her and to do so was essentially dismantling the church - tearing apart the monastaries etc etc. The rebellion was supposed to be a united effort to get the king to stop being such an arsehole essentially. It started out fairly reaosnable, then numbers grew and...well things ended badly. the king sent his army to stop it. We were captured and sentanced to be executed with a lot of other nobles for treason. I saw my dad executed on the gallows from my cell window."
He stared at the door with a faraway look, reliving the events. he visibly flinched at the memory of the trapdoor opening beneath his father and watching him drop to his death.
"His neck broke like it was supposed to, so it's not all bad." he added, trying to be dismissive about it all.

"Meh. Better'n dying of siphalis or something." Drake said, snorting. he then looked at her a little more honestly. "but you now, it made my life a bit easier in many ways. I became a vampire so I didn't die. doesn't feel liek so bad a reason really, so I guess i can't be too guilty. Plus my mum thought we were both dead, so there was nothing too distressing for her once she got over teh execution thing - i didn't have to leave her. and as the family tree shows, she turned out just fine."

The way Kyle was able to talk to her made it clear to Koko that he didn't remember last nights events. Good.
She then moved over the a side of the room and stared out the window while the others conversed.

"Aye. I just feel sorry for our estate - no other direct male heirs. it probably went to some cousin. I wonder if it's still around..." He started to daydream again, imagining how the big halls would look now, and if they still had the hunting trophies on the wall.
