"I just hope I don't end up with one of those things following me all of a sudden. For them to be able to do that, they'd probably be too powerful in anyone's hands." "Actually, stories depict that the Unown work better united instead of alone." I said to Aden. "So even if one was to follow you around, I don't think it could of done much. Anyways, you hungry by chance? Its been a while since lunch, or do you want to wait until breakfast in the morning since its so late?"

"I still wouldn't be fond of it." Aden spoke up. "Entries mention little more than a single move at their disposal, called Hidden Power. Even if it was weakened by being separated from a group, I wouldn't want to chance that. And I think it might be better to wait... not really hungry, anyway." His run in may have been a factor in his thinking, but he did have a little respect in knowing their intentions were well. "Besides, having one would mean another would be sitting in storage. I know that'll be inevitable, but I think I might want to avoid that with Rhydon and Arcanine."

I'd have thought about buying a Repel and heading there now, but I figured it wouldn't be a good idea." Aden said, oblivious to the fact that even holding a Repel would be a horrible idea. Unless he found himself with an insatiable need to run around faster than ever before and scream 'I HATE REPELS' all the while, but even then, it wouldn't be a good idea.

"Well Aden, look at it this way, by the time you make it to Ecruteak City, if you continue on this gym tour as the way you are now, how do you think your Pokemon's condition will be by the time you get there?" I asked. "Your current four, combined with the power of Rhydon and Arcanine, assuming that you don't capture any more Pokemon between now and then would be pretty outrageous." I said to him. "You'll just need to hang tough for a bit."

If anything ever made Aden feel nervous, it was that. Ceramew was one thing; Pokemon or not, she was at least seen as a sibling. Not one he'd order around unless something serious happened to call for such an action.
"Thinking back, it probably wasn't the best idea, but taking a trip back there so soon might be even worse. I don't have a doubt that the four with me will get stronger if I keep at it, though, not anymore. If I'm really lucky, Nidoran or Mareep might even evolve by then.... I'll save my retrieval for when we get there proper. Probably won't hurt to expand along the way either, if one of them won't do so well in a certain situation."

Those two were in essence potentially a crutch compared to the three you came down here with and you did that without those two heavily experienced Pokemon." I said to him. "Aden, what I might recommend to you...you don't have to keep this to heart, but its something that you may want to think about for a bit...you can use Rhydon and Arcanine, but wait." I said to him. "Try go on with who you got now, and maybe capture Pokemon along the way. There's nothing stopping you from interchanging teams along the way, you know. Trainers, even I, do that from time to time. That way you have options open. So why not instead work for that team of six before deciding 'Ok, I want to bring along Rhydon and Arcanine now.' Who knows, there may be Pokemon that you may want to get along the way that you didn't think about getting before. You still got quite a ways from here to Ecruteak. You cut through the Rock Tunnel...Azalea Town...Ilex Forest...head straight for Goldenrod...then back to Ecruteak if you go the Gym tour route." I said to him. "There's plenty of time to think about it too, just so you know."

I said, walking off for the moment out of the room. It'd probably give him a moment to think.

If nothing else, Blizzard's sudden walking off did allow that chance to further organize his thoughts. Though, there wasn't much more on Aden's mind. He had already figured the best course of action would be taking a trip to the mart, finally stocking up on a few supplies, and possibly attempt a run through the gym again. Part of him felt like he'd be better off getting at least a little training in with Mareep to see what she could really do, but nowhere near the levels he had done before. It'd be overkill.
"We'll get it this time." He said to himself, further pushing any doubts to the back of his mind. They had been holding him back long enough.

I made my way back into the room and brought back a few decent sized bottles of Coke. Of course, they weren't all going to be for me. As much as I love the stuff, I know how to be considerate. I placed one over towards Aden, one over towards my bed, and the rest right in the center on the desk between us. "Enjoy." I said, taking the bottle and a straw and starting to sip on it. "So...curious. Probably not the time for me to ask now, but how are you feeling about another gym battle?" I asked.

"Oh, thank-" Aden was a little stunned at the question, even stopping his motion to grab one of the Cokes. "I was thinking about that, actually. That, and getting some supplies tomorrow. I've got a better chance with Mareep, even if she's a little behind the others. I've just gotta stop worrying about whether or not I can pull it off."

He's actually been making a hell of a lot of sense ever since he's left those ruins. I really think that perhaps Unown really did screw with Aden. But...how would be anyone's guess. Why did Falkner, excuse the pun, take him under his wing is very beyond me. Probably saw something in him, hell if I know. Granted I wasn't the perfect student at first, but my teacher straightened me out in a hurry. Jackie...doesn't seem to be the case, I don't think."
