An untold love

As I silently sat I stared at the clouds
I began to think and can’t hear any sound
I envisioned something that’s been on my mind
My eyes became sore as my memories unwind

I remembered her, the one who I truly love
She’s all that I want though I can never have
All I need is to be with her forever
But as day pass by her end comes closer

She was sick and lived in great peril
She never got better only more ill
Nothing can cure her that’s what they say
But still she said,” don’t worry I’m okay”

I could never believe her words of lie
‘Cause I know it would soon be her goodbye
But I never lost hope and still fight on
For she’s the one I could never abandon

We have been friends ever since we are young
And I fell for her with the songs she sang
Her voice was indulging, beautiful and sweet
Just hearing it makes me captivated by it

But now she could not even speak right
It hurts me so much by seeing such sight
She doesn’t even know how I feel for her
‘Cause I’m afraid it won’t do her any better

So I promised myself to stay by her side
While hiding the truth of what I feel inside
Until one midnight, her time was out
I was so scared for what may come about

She started to grow pale and breathe heavily
Somehow I sensed that I know her misery
I held her hand and told her to fight
Now the girl I love was dying in my sight

She looked at me with her pretty eyes
It ache my heart but I tried not to cry
She suddenly asked me to come closer
And I did so but I start to wonder

At a time like this, what would she tell?
I never thought it would be her farewell
“I’ve always loved you”, that’s what she said
Then she smiled as she lied on her bed

Those are the words I’ve wanted to hear
And now it’s said by the one I hold dear
I tried to answer back with an “I love you too”
But I was too late, her life was through

I found myself falling from my feet
I want to hear again her heart beat
It seemed like it was the end of all
But somehow I heard a faint call

“Live on for me.”, that’s what I heard
And out of the window I saw a white bird
I understood what it meant and gave a smile
Then the bird flew out to a distant mile

Up to this day I still feel regret
Every time I remember that incident
But I know wherever she may be
Behind those clouds, she is happy.
