Blake shrugged. He didn't know much about the Houses' rivarly. If one was sorted in Slytherin and the other Gryffindor, there was a possibility that the two wouldn't get along. "I don't see why not. I mean if I was in a different House than you, I wouldn't mind what color robes your wearing."

Jack couldn't help but grin at his comment, "I'd still talk to you, even if you wore green." She gave her best attempt at a joke, though she could tell the second that it came out that it wasn't funny at all. In order to avoid the awkward post-joke stare she bent down to pull her socks up, even though they hadn't fallen down.

Aster Owena Cardell - 1st Year; No House
"Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder, is there a spell that I'm under, keeping me from seeing the real thing?"Aster returned her gaze to the boat, the waves were so calming that if she looked a them any longer she probably be lulled to sleep. Archades, seemed disappointed about something, but before the girl could adrress it, he asked a question, distracting her. "My name? She asked, slightly puzzled. 'Is it odd, I wonder?' She returned quickly from her mental musing, and then answered his questions calmly and with poise. "My name was given to me my mother, it's of Greek orgin. As for my house, I would be fine in any, but I must admitt I have a fondess for the color yellow, so I like Hufflepuff so far..." Aster hoped the later part of her answering didn't seem silly, she only had a brief lesson from Coeur on the Houses, she never grew learning these things. The grey-haired girl smoothed out her skirt, and then asked Archades the same questions in turn with one of her own. "And you? Your names, what does it mean beside the fact your sided with Romeo?" Aster flashed him a small smile and this part, and continued. "What House would you like to be Sorted in? What part of the Britain do you hail from?" ((No worries, it happens. 3nodding ))

Archades "Archie" Montague Firstie - "....." House
Archades grinned widely - only a few people from back home had commented on that, and he doubted many purebloods would notice it either. He bowed his head slightly. "My mother never did tell me if we were related to him or not, or if he was even real. I hope to get into Ravenclaw, but I suppose Hufflepuff or Gryffindor wouldn't be too far off from my personality. And from your words I take it you don't really know that much about the Houses?" He smiled slightly to take any potential sting out of his words. Now he was changing his opinion on her - maybe she was from another country? "Oh - I grew up in Mundane London, in a suburb of London. What about you Miss Cardwell?"

Aster Owena Cardell - 1st Year; No House
"Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder, is there a spell that I'm under, keeping me from seeing the real thing?"Aster returned the red head's grin with a very small - but definite - grin of her own. 'He got the joke.' She thought, pleased. Once Archades came to the part about his surname, she commented. "Dead men tell no secerts. Romeo and Shakespeare are not comming back, so I guess we will never know." He went on to speak of the Houses, and Aster nodded politely and actively listened to him. Her last name was said incorrectly. His last sentence was a question, for her. She withheld an on-comming frown, and opted for a small sigh instead. "I know the basics about the four houses. An acquaintance at the train station was kind enough to go on a brief overview of the Houses' colours, mascots, and beloved traits, but I am new to it...all" The grey-haired girl, smoothed her skirt, suddenly a tad nervous, she went on to add. "I am from the country-side, I hail from West Wales... I do believe you are saying my surname wrong. It is 'Cardell' not 'Cardwell', you may use my first name if you want, Archades." Aster used the boy's first name, hoping he'd do the same. She knew she could never change her speaking patterns - they were too embedded in her- but perhaps they could both be less formal.

Archades "Archie" Montague Firstie - "....." House
Archades' eyes widened slightly and he blushed, embarrassed to have gotten her name wrong twice. "Oh no... I'm sorry about that... Uhm, please then, call me Archie. 'Archades' makes me think I've gotten in trouble with my mother again." He rubbed the back of his head and grinned weakly. "I haven't gotten in trouble with you have I?" Inwardly he was cheering - he had gotten a smile out of her! Now he just had to keep from upsetting her. "And if I have, and even if I haven't, would you like me to tell you what I read about the Houses? It might help you know which one you want to join.... because if I join the house with my favorite color, I don't know if it would fit me to well. I'm not all that ambitious." He smiled at her again.

Aster Owena Cardell - 1st Year; No House
"Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder, is there a spell that I'm under, keeping me from seeing the real thing?"Aster withheld a giggle at the boy's blush, it was an amusing sight to see, to say the least. She waved her hands dismissing the matter of her name. "Its alright, last names are last names. Besides, its the first or nick names that are really your own - those are the ones that hold value." She smiled softly to herself, those were the words her mother told her, and now she finally understood them. The girl nodded, at the mention of his nickname, she would use it. Aster didn't want to be rude, so she didn't mention it, but she did consider Archades' first name odd, and for some reason archaic - she was fine with just calling him 'Archie.' He asked if he was in trouble and she shook her head. "Nope. No trouble at all, Archie." At the mentioned of Houses she shook her head, releasing a small bun of hair on the side of her head. "Thank you, but no. I will be Sorted into a House by the Hat... All I can do is hope that it is a perfect suit." She shrugged, and then suddenly a sad thought hit her. She voiced it. "If the students are to be divided into Houses, are we to be divided into different classes too? Based on the Houses..." Aster was visibly worried, she didn't want that to happen, what if she could see the others from the train station or Archie? - He was growing on her quickly. Lavender eyes flickered to him, expecting an answer.

Archades "Archie" Montague Firstie - "....." House
Archie shrugged slightly at her question. "From what Hogwarts: A History stated, the classes are normally divided up between two houses. Typically Gryffindor and Slytherin are paired up, and Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. It's also divided up by your year at first - so you won't see many older students in a class with us unless they failed. Of course the older electives in the past have had mixed year classes." One finger scratched his cheek as he looked upwards in thought. "Though apparently there are some classes that are held with everyone from a year group. And of course there's always mealtimes, since nothing I read ever talked about enforcing a rule of staying with your house all of the time. And there's always free periods and the weekends." He grinned and looked at her. "So Aster, what do you like doing in your free time?" Archades was a curious boy - and learning more about people around him was normally fun, and a very good way of getting to know people. And Aster seemed interesting enough to the young redhead - he hoped that they got sorted into the same house, or if they didn't that their houses were paired up for classes.

Aster Owena Cardell - 1st Year; No House
"Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder, is there a spell that I'm under, keeping me from seeing the real thing?"Aster nodded, and let out a small sigh of relief. Her face went back to it's normal calm expression. 'Basically, the main classes contain the same years and electives are jumbled up by class levels.... Her brow furrowed as she once again worried over a new thought. Oh, I hope I won't fail any of my classes. Its bad enough getting in trouble for being a witch, but bad grades too? I would be disowned...' Her thoughts of a yet-to-be-future, vanished as she peekd up, and saw Archie grin. For some reason it cheered her up a bit. She returned the grin with a soft smile, a bit hesitant at first, but then genuine and pleasant in it's ending. She answered his question. "I do not recieve as much free-time as others my age, but I read a lot, on my own. Most of my books are on mythology, fairytales, folklore...subjects like that. Hhhmm? What else? ... I go on picnics and the candy store when I can - overall, I read, snack, and enjoy nature." Aster shrugged, it was an admittedly a boring free-time. "And you, Archie? What are your likes?" While she waited for her answer, the girl tied her grey hair into a neat bun at the base of her neck. ((OOC: 'Nighty-night, gent. - I must go~ ))

Archades "Archie" Montague Firstie - "....." House
"Well, that's easy! I read." He grinned and shook his head. "Most of the time at least, I read. I read mythology - Greek and Japanese, some Scottish or Irish. Near the start of last summer I started exercising after..." His face dimmed and he shook his head. "Well, at the start of last summer in any way. Other than that, I cook." Archie rubbed the back of his head again and shifted his eyes to one side as he blushed again and stuck one hand out towards her. "Can we be friends then Aster?" The redhead was nervous - he hadn't really spent much time with anyone his age, and because he was always reading had been kind of an outcast. He fervently hoped that wouldn't happen here.

Jadyn smiled. "I plan on talking to people no matter what house they're in. Honestly, I think the whole house rivalry business is kind of dumb. Yeah, it's cool for the house cup competition and everything, but just because people are in different houses doesn't mean they shouldn't be friends. I know we haven't talked much, but I hope that if we end up in different houses we still can." He glanced between everyone in the boat. He really hoped that he could become friends with each one of them, because they all three seemed really nice.

I think I'll go for a walk,
Maybe out in the rain,
Maybe there'll be tears rolling down my face... Jack agreed, it did seem ridiculous to ignore someone because of the house they were sorted in to, "I wouldn't mind hanging around you guys." ...And I'd feel the pain.
Maybe think about something?
Maybe think about you?

Sparrow Farrell----First Year----
Sparrow wasn't all that talkative and she had been looking around at the surrounding she found this place interesting. She heard her name and saw a girl there. Archades had introduced her to the girl standing there. Sparrow quickly tried to answer the questions but those two were talking fast and she finally got an opening and said, "Well Sparrow isn't my real name it is a nickname my family gave me as a child. Sparrow's seemed to be attracted to me and whenever I was outside they would appear and sometimes come up to me and I did the crazies things. It stuck and my real name is only used when I'm in serious trouble now." She wondered if she was going on about it and decided to stop talking she liked Sparrow and nobody needed to know much of her real name.
She then answered the next question that she figured was directed also at her saying, "I'd prefer to be in Gryffindor since my entire family has been. I hope I am. Ravenclaw would be good too since I'm a bookworm." She went on thinking about how her family would react to her not being in Gryffindor. It would be a lot of pressure and she sure hoped they wouldn't be mad. Though her father would have said that it didn't matter, but to her mother it mattered a lot and she was the only one around anymore.

Aster Owena Cardell - 1st Year; No House
"Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder, is there a spell that I'm under, keeping me from seeing the real thing?"'Yay!' Aster thought. 'Another fellow book nerd. This makes two that are my age.' The girl had met other book nerds in her short life time, but most of them were way older than her - and thus didn't want to talk to her - or tutors that she had gone through before getting her permanent one, Dominique. The red head went on to mention cooking, and then exercising. His face fell, but before she could say anything he seemed to bounce back up and ask if they could be friends. Aster gracefully leaned foward, and then grabbed the hand held out to her. She softly repiled. "Of course... That would lovely." Her gaze flickered to the blonde as she suddenly spoke. The girl cleared her throat, embarrassed, and then dropped Archie's hand. She leaned back, into her seat at the helm of the boat, and then put her hands into her robe pockets. As she felt disappointment in herself for such rudeness, Aster mentally vowed to actively include the fellow first year in the near future - the boat ride. Sparrow went on to explain the orgins of her nick name, what house she'd preffer to be in, and her book-worm nature. 'Ravenclaw would be a nice choice, too.' She mentally conceded. 'Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw...' Aster turned her head, so that both Archie and Sparrow could be held in her line of sight. "Does House-Family affiliation effect the Sorting Hat's choice?" She mumured, opening the question to the both of them. The grey-haired girl was curious, her family had no ties to any of the houses, being mugggles and all. She wondered if that would pose a problem for the Hat during her own sorting and their's.

Sparrow Farrell----First Year----
Sparrow started to wonder when they would start moving. It was starting to get cold and she was getting hungry. Her family had mentioned something about the family tradition. She said, "Well I think it can sometimes have an influence but often times it doesn't matter and it is just your personality. My brother told me that sometimes twins will even get split up. It is based on your personal aspects, but family might have a slight influence." Even though Sparrow was from a wizarding family she still didn't know everything. She might have a head start, but that doesn't mean she was a know-it-all. Though she could be at times. Her brothers often called her that.
