She couldn't sleep. Hearing that movie all night made it impossible. She pretended to sleep though. Once she figured her daddy and Bree were asleep, she sat up and slid off the couch. This place smelled too different too; she couldn't get over it and it made her uncomfortable. She was forced to sleep here and she didn't want too. Walking around the house without a sound thanks to have somehow taken off her shoes, she found the bathroom and closed the door. Coming out a few minutes later, she wiped her hands on her shirt and walked back down the stairs. Staring at them, she felt another swell of anger and sadness in her chest before forcing herself to look away. They were friends. Friends did things like that right?

She still wanted to go home. Everything felt so wrong here. Out of place. She didn't feel like she belonged in this setting. There was such an uncomfortable feeling surrounding her that she squirmed around in her costume. Chewing on her lip, she walked to the front door and opened it. With the movie still playing in the background, it was doubtful her daddy would hear the door but she was still going either way. Shutting the door, she was surprised to see Finn sitting in front of the door and looking terrible. His eyes were a little puffy and there were dark circles under them. Had he been out here all night?

"Running away. I wanna go home," she replied bluntly as she moved around him and began walking down their lawn to the sidewalk.

Running away? She was like two, why would she need to run away? His eyes widened as he noticed her suddenly so close to the sidewalk, just marching in any ol' direction she thought was right. Scrambling to his feet, he caught up to her, inwardly hissing in intense pain. "Whoa there cowgirl!" he said as he scooped her up and carried her back up towards their house. He could feel the girl kicking around in his grip and honestly, he was surprised he had any strength to carry her. Sitting down in front of the door again, he set her down in front of him, facing him and stared her down curiously. "Now, why on earth are you running away? Where were you planning on going cause..." he leaned in cupped a hand around his lips, "I wanna go with ya." He saw the slightly bewildered look on the toddler's face as he requested to go with her and chuckled.

"Ya know what, I got an idea. Since it was Halloween last night," the very word sent a terrified shudder through his freezing cold body. "How about I give you a special treat? I know you got a whole lotta candy dressed up like that, but how about we go to my store and have a special trick-or-treat there?" he suggested encouragingly. Pushing himself back to his feet, he fumbled around for his keys and pressed the button for the garage door. He couldn't very well take a toddler on a motorcycle, so he'd take Bree's car. "Come on," he said as he beckoned her to follow. And opened the back door for her. Once she was in, he closed it, got into the driver's side seat and started the car. Spare keys were a life saver right now. Backing out of their driveway, he made sure to avoid his scratched up bike, and headed towards the candy store.

Sela grunted as she was suddenly picked up, kicking and wiggling in his arms. NO! She wanted to go home! "Put me down!" she huffed as she tried to struggle free. How did he have so much strength?! She was brought back up to the door and set in front of him. With a pout, she glared at him as he asked where she intended to go. Slowly her glare started to fade as she realized she had no clue which way was home. And who's home would she go to? Her's, or her daddy's? A brief moment of sadness turned into bewilderment as he asked to come with her. Why did he want to leave? Wasn't this his home? His scent was all over the place after all.

Her crimson eyes followed him as he got to his feet talking about trick-or-treating and her candy. Where was her candy anyways? She had absolutely no idea and hadn't seen it when she was wandering around looking for the bathroom. She followed him to his garage, noticing the way he limped and the scratches on the motorcycle in the driveway. When he opened the back door for her, she couldn't refuse free candy. He was daddy's friend so this was alright, right? She didn't get ill intended vibes from him, so there wasn't any need to worry. The thought of her daddy worrying about her, not even crossing her mind. Climbing into the backseat, she buckled herself in and he closed the door for her. Her bare feet wiggled a little more excitedly, but sitting in a stranger's car was still uncomfortable. Her fingers fidgeted with her costume as she looked down at her lap, feeling the car moving.

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

Bree awoke with a sudden startled feel at shifting next to her, accompanied by the faint closing of a door. Her shoulders shrugged inward in the slightest, eyes partially opening to see the darkened screen of the tv. It continued on the same replay of the title song, ignoring the fact that it must have been looping for hours on end. The rest of her plate laid on the coffee table, untouched and glazed over with markings of absence. Her fork remained hitched atop the inclined edge of the plate, dully staring back at her with its tines directed at the abandoned chicken. It had been hours since she had fallen asleep, and as she came to realization just what had happened the night before, she gingerly began to lean off of Tyrese, taking an elongated inhale with her. He smelled like pine... A significant difference from Finn. It was refreshing, really, but not the same kind of smell she was used to. Holding it in her lungs a second, she let it exhale like a prolonged taste of a new cigarette. She didn't want to wake him nor Sela up, leaning up and away from the wolf... Well, that was until she saw his blue eyes already open and directed elsewhere. Fluttering her eyelashes, she squinted a tad, lifting an arm to rub any sleepiness away from her eyes. "Good morning...~" She murmured, figuring it would be the best way to suit a morning after this. It may not be the greatest of mornings, but they survived all depressing thoughts of last night - that was a good thing.

She glanced towards the empty couch, sitting up all the way and raised her blanketed feet to nestle against the edge of the centered table. What was he thinking about? Or looking at for that matter. She threw her glance over towards the now empty couch, cushions just barely dipped in from where the toddler had slept. Was she in the bathroom? Maybe that's what that closing door was that woke her up. Whatever the case, it hadn't been the quietest of closings. She brushed a few lazy curls away from her ivory cheeks. Was it only Tyrese and her now...? She would have looked around for Finn, but something told her that he hadn't even come home last night. Was he passed out somewhere around town after drinking his heart out? Or had he just... Gone for a drive? At this rate, she wasn't even sure which one would be the correct answer. Or maybe he was upstairs in bed, not wanting to bother the broken characters on the couch. She sighed slightly, leaning completely off and away from Tyrese to gather her own thoughts. Stretching outwards, her elbows each gave a significantly loud pop, followed by one swift motion of her fingers and toes. Mmm... The blanket, clothing, and Tyrese had provided a good amount of warmth last night. After all, she hardly remembered falling asleep. Her original intent was to at least woo him to sleep before clambering onto the other couch and slipping into her unconsciousness. Guess her body had other plans.

At the least she could say her rib wasn't bothering her nearly as much as the day before. The pill had done some good work in terms of keeping the pain away for the time being. Then again, she had ached all last night on her way home, barefoot and disgustingly filthy. Now that she was washed and slept, the throbbing in her chest wasn't nearly as noticeable as it was before. The blanket remained around her shoulders, her eyes landing over on Tyrese one last time. Would he still want to talk about what happened? Would he need another hug and to be told it was okay while he sank down into the depths of his own despair? She had made a promise to him last night.

And she never broke her promises.

Tyrese was coming to when he heard crying, worried it was Sela as he came to. He felt disoriented from the alcohol, the world seeming to spin as he cracked open his eyes. This action was just in time for Sela to stroll right out the front door and close it as his brain responded enough for him to croak her name. He was delayed, already hearing Finn catch the toddler. Where his muscles had tensed to spring after her, he now relaxed and stared at the door. The father heard everything that was said, glancing over at Bree before sighing. Jumping up probably would have given her a very unpleasant surprise. He wanted to ask if it was still wise not to tell Sela anything about this, since she just ran away from him. Too late now, Finn just swooped the toddler up and drove away with her.

The wolf shook his head, looking from the bottle of Amber liquor, to his empty cup, then settle on staring at the door. That was it, he knew where everyone stood. Whether they were for him or against him. What a mess. Feeling Bree still, he turned his listless gaze at her for several seconds before turning back to the door, finally reaching for a new drink once she moved herself away from him. Good morning indeed. The wolf scoffed, emptying a glass before hoisting himself up to disappear into the bathroom. He called back before shutting the door: "My daughter decided to run away, so your husband accompanied her elsewhere!" His voice was gruff and horse, probably hard to hear although still audible. With that, he all but slammed the door to clean himself up.

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

The scoff hadn't gone unnoticed, making her flicker a smile in his direction. She had taken it to be a sort of laugh. Well, she had. Her body fell back into the cushions, slightly falling into the spot he had gotten up from. It was warm - hot even. Her face took on a blank look. What emotion was she supposed to be feeling right now at this very moment? Everything became a blur of objects, items scattering in her line of view. Possibility thoughts could only rush through her mind. So he had been home. He had been home and... Her jaw clenched, fingers twitching to snatch the blanket and toss it off of her body. It didn't take long for her to gather exactly what she wanted to feel - how she really felt since yesterday's events. Her emotions were climbing... And becoming very, very threateningly close to the spite line. Baring through the stabbing motion in her heart, she began off the couch. That was the first mistake she made that morning. Instantly her hand came to slam down onto the table, the fork she had used to "eat" last night toppling off the edge of the table and clattering against the carpet. The blood rushed to her head much too fast, making her spin on her heel and bend a knee straight against floor. Her elbow gave in, allowing her to ease down whilst her chest gave a large heave, leading nothing but air to her throat. She honestly thought she would throw up - but without having eaten anything for a while now, nothing came. All she could manage was stomach acid. And even that wasn't enough to toss out of her mouth. It only stung the sides of her throat when she swallowed it back down.

She saw how it was going to be now. It was just Bree. Just Bree. Gritting her teeth together, she wobbled herself up, dragging her hands and climbing across furniture to keep herself standing just to get up the stairs. Tyrese would need help freshening up if he was going after his daughter - which she assumed he was. Just the thought that Finn was home... Her blood practically boiled beneath her skin. It felt bitter. Sour. Irritation radiated from her very being. And for what seemed the first time since she was little, she climbed the stairs on all fours, keeping her back arched to avoid causing more pain to her chest. Reaching the top of the stairs, she grabbed at the wall, trying to put herself back up on her feet. She had to remain on the balls of her feet if she intended to go anywhere. Pushing her fingertips off the wall, she used the last of her energy to walk into their bedroom, flinging the closet door open to see the list of items she had couponed from before. It was the only reason she didn't have to constantly go to the store for toothpaste and other bathroom necessities. Snatching a travel sized bottle of mouthwash, she gripped it into her hand. At this point, she was willing to drive the bike just to get Tyrese where he needed to go. But doing that would upset Finn. Maybe. She didn't even know at this point. Now up on her feet, she left one clasped hand against her ribs, making her way back down the stairs.

Everything just felt so... Wrong. So trashed and destroyed. So.. So... She practically fell down the last step, hissing in both anger and pain. Slowly she knocked on the bathroom door, grazing the wood with her knuckles. She'd scratch, but right now... She wasn't even sure what to do. She had no idea where Finn would have taken her besides Sucre's. Or Pandora's for that matter. For someone so angry for his wife to be in someone else's business, he surely was rather eager to jump in himself. How did he not understand that being with a replacement wasn't the same as being with him? She wasn't a child hanging onto a raggedy bear. She was a wife that had fallen in love with one, specific person. And right now, that person was doing all but being the husband she had fallen so hard for.

Finn inwardly sighed as he saw his house come into view. He hadn't heard from Ty the entire time they were gone and it worried him. Just like it had worried him the night before when Bree didn't answer. He opened the garage door as they pulled up, once again avoiding the bike and parking the car. Getting out, he opened the door for her before closing it after her. He was ready for bed; or whatever he could manage. He was just lucky that they hadn't died on the way back. His eyes were feeling heavier now, almost unable to keep them open. Opening the door to the house, he let her waddle in first before coming in after her. "I'm home!" he called, trying to sound somewhat okay, but failing at it. His voice was just as destroyed as he was. He walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge, grabbing something to drink and throwing his head against the cool counter top.

It felt so nice against his skin. Even though it was so cold outside and he was still freezing from being Jack Frost, he could still feel the difference in temperature. It was relaxing. Too relaxing. He'd only had one sip of his drink before he felt his eyes close. He couldn't open them. He was just so dang exhausted. However, just like when he sat on the front porch, he only had about a minute of slumber before flashes of the night before jolted him awake. Dammit!

Sela got out of the car and followed him inside, her nose wiggling to the inhale of the foreign scents to her. She could still smell her daddy which meant he was still here. But they hadn't been gone that long. Did-...Had he even noticed she was gone? Was he worried about her? As Finn walked into the kitchen, she just kind of stood in the middle of the living room awkwardly, her bag of candy in her hands. Staring at her feet, she watched her toes curl and uncurl, hearing everyone and what they were doing. Had anyone cared that she was gone? Her eyes felt like crying again, but she forced them back so she wouldn't be caught crying in front of strangers. Instead, she just stood there with the saddest and loneliest look on her face, waiting. She didn't know what was happening today. Where she'd be going. What could she do but sit and wait...or cry?

It was apparent he needed some new people in his life, to cut out those who weren't behind him. No matter how close he and Finn were, how did Finn think it was okay to take his child somewhere without saying a word to him or asking permission? He didn't care if it was to cheer her up, that wasn't his concern. Especially after yesterday when- The wolf slammed the side of his fist against the sink top, his head dipped down to wash his face and wet his hair. Slowly, he pulled back and looked at himself. He was doing the best he could with Sela, he'll be damned if some guy was going to swoop in to rescue her and play daddy for a day. Not Jason, and not Finn.

Ty answered the knock at the door, pulling it open and staring out at Bree. She looked like he felt, perhaps much worse since Finn had to answer for himself as soon as he returned. Soon meant soon, as he heard the door open in that moment not long before Finn announced himself. The wolf's anger skyrocketed as did his blood pressure. He stood up straight, his brow perked before he left Bree go ahead of him. Or whatever she would do. He turned off the bathroom light and walked to his daughter. With a sigh, he scooped her up. "Daddy was just about to go looking for you. Sela, you shouldn't go anywhere without telling me, even if you know them you should still tell me." He peppered kisses on her tiny cheeks, choosing not to acknowledge Finn. "We're going home now, okay? Just you and daddy." He smiled, adjusting her to one arm so he didn't squish her candy. He looked at Bree as he walked to the door, "You have my number anytime you need it."

( ♬ But I think my mistakes became the chemistry for my miracles... • )

Her eyes fixated on the knob of the bathroom door, vision blurring once more. What had happened to her life? What had happened between her and Finn that would make him act this way? That would make them feel so far apart that she wanted nothing but to whop him across the face and run to a hideaway? She held the small blue vile between her fingertips, ignoring the sloshing against its plastic casing as her fingers quivered. The more she thought back to it... The only answer that relayed back to her was the child she was holding for the both of them. It couldn't be... It just couldn't be the only possible answer to this turmoil... All of the broken heartache was coming back to her, seared in confusion and drowned in anger. The light brown owl sweater she had chosen for that night peeked back at Tyrese once he exited the bathroom. The doorknob drifted out of view, the light expanding along her face. She leaned back just slightly, looking back up at his expression. The door behind her opened. Her breathing stopped, unable to turn and meet the man that walked through. Finn's voice drifted onto deaf ears, her lips suddenly clamming shut as her fingers trembled heavily along the bottle. I'm home! So now he could let her know he was home? Now he could let her know she was safe - but not only after taking someone else's child to help her? She felt so... Betrayed. It swelled and roared in her chest, her body moving just inches to the side to let Tyrese move past her and scoop his daughter up.

Was this some kind of joke to Finn? It had been a complete 48 hours and only once had she seen him - long enough for them to cry about their child then have him walk out. She had spent hours walking home. Hours wondering where he was when she needed him most. Wondering what in the living <********> would make him just abandon her. Neglect her like she was someone else's problem to handle. Maybe she was. Maybe she was Tyrese's dilemma. The only difference? Tyrese knew how to get her home. Tyrese knew how to take care of his own family first before all else. A grumbling, spiteful hatred began to develop in the swells of her stomach, stress overcoming each and every fiber of her being. She had had it. Every part of her wanted to whop the ever living s**t out of him. To hiss out her concerns. Ask him where he was, why he hadn't come home, how worried sick she was to make sure that he was okay. But that was only a small percentage. An even smaller part of her wanted to run into his arms and beg for him to never leave again. To stay by her side in a selfish act of contrition. But the other majority was more pissed off and severely upset than anything else. Her body shook, crumpled, and finally... She made the only decision she could. She very well couldn't run away from home - not like she could before. She'd barely make it a block before collapsing from hunger and pain.

She did the only thing that was sensible at this moment. She dropped the mouthwash where it was, snatched onto the ledge of the stairs and moved up the stairs. There was no reply to Tyrese's comment. No meaningful glance at Finn. Now... Now it was her turn to be alone. To be alone when she wanted to be alone. She wanted to curl on the bed and shove the pillow over her head, trying to ignore the scent of Finn like she was doing now with the dried pieces of chicken and slopped corn on the stove. Grabbing almost every column on her way up and trying not to hit the steps and break down into a crying mess. She was done with crying. She had let enough tears out as of yesterday when he left that hospital bed and didn't even bother to wait up for her. She had told him to leave and go by himself. But had he seriously thought that was a good idea? She had said it out of spiteful anger. Before she had regretted it. And now? She wasn't even sure she could take this situation seriously. This wasn't high school. This wasn't an area where they could pretend they were just starting to date. They were married. In sickness and in health. Obviously those words had meant absolutely nothing on that altar... She finally made it to their room, slamming the door shut hard behind her. A few pictures on the wall rattled on the upstairs before she locked the door and slumped to her bottom, gripping the mass of curls that surrounded her head, teeth grit and eyes squeezed shut.

The tears welling in her eyes were nothing close to revealing the stabbing she felt against her heart...

What was everyone's deal this morning? It felt like he was the odd man out. Like he was a stranger looking in a window. Both of them had completely ignored him as he stood in the kitchen, just watching. Bree, he could understand that; they had fought the night before. But Ty? Yeah, they got a little rough back at the hospital, but that shouldn't have grown into this. He kind of felt like he was torn between to evils. Either way, he was going to get yelled at; something he didn't need right now. Nor did he want it. His gaze was more focused on Bree then Ty, even as he wondered about him. He saw the storm coming in her eyes and inwardly sighed. God dammit! He wanted to punch...something, as his own uncharacteristic anger bubbled. Part of him knew he deserved the lashing he would get. But that didn't stop him from letting the anger rise.

The moment she turned and made her way up the stairs as fast as she could, he was groaning softly and setting his cup down. Moving around the island, he limped as quickly as he could up the stairs, hearing the door slam before he could even make it half way. Dammit! Ty wasn't his problem right now, they could let themselves out, his pissed off wife was. He knew he had some things to apologize for, but they wouldn't come easy this time. He was a mess in his own way that he wasn't ready to concede to anything. He hurt all over, could get an ounce of sleep and had demons trying to kill him half the night. Just for a minute, he wanted to relax in the safety of his home and then they could fight. But no, they had to fight first. Of course.

Reaching the door, having to sit on the floor because of his knee now being unable to hold him up any longer, he tapped on the door with his knuckles. Stretching out his right leg, his knee popped a few times before he leaned his head against the wall. "Bree, come on. Open the door so we can talk," he sighed, closing his eyes. Nope! Can't do that. His eyes snapped back open and he grumbled to himself as he ran his hands over his face a few times.

Staring at her feet, she was surprised at suddenly being scooped up by a pair of arms. With wide eyes, she looked over to see it was only her daddy. Her moment of terror left her, relaxing as he peppered kisses on her face. She smiled as he did so, closing her eyes and having her held back tears brim her lashes. He hadn't forgotten about her after all. She was relieved to know that he was going to look for her. Nodding a silently reply, she was sorry for running off without saying anything, but she was just upset. Just like everyone else.

Looking up at him, her smile grew slightly hearing that they were finally going home. That's all she had wanted this whole time. To go home. Making sure to keep a tight grip on her candy, she let herself fall against his chest and close her eyes. No matter what, he was always so warm. So comforting. And by some crazy magic, his embrace always felt so protective and loving.

His eyes weren't filled with lust, nevertheless, Tyrese's gaze was definitely not one portraying a platonic friendship as he looked at Bree. Finn was too preoccupied to notice, as was his daughter. The door slammed and Ty shook his head, his hand rested on the door knob. He felt smug seeing the situation Finn had gotten himself into. At the same time, the wolf felt bad for Aubrey. He would gladly hold her if Finn would not. Tyrese wondered if he should let Finn know he had interest in pursuing his wife. Nah. If Finn screwed up, then all Ty would have to do is pick up Bree in his car. Cocking his head as he heard Finn knocking on the locked door, the author left the home to get his daughter where she belonged. "How about daddy cook you anything you want for dinner, Miss Lady?"

Hands gripped tight along the base of her head, snatching and pulling any hair strands she could out of their sockets. And although none would come out at this moment, just the slight pain directed elsewhere was a small relief. She let go of them, instead pressing her fingertips and nails into her cheeks, trying to stop the oncoming tears that slid easily down her cheeks. They were salty on the corner of her lips, which were curled back to exert the force she used on her teeth. This wasn't a hormonal deal. She wasn't feeling mad for absolutely no reason. There were so many at this point that she could hardly count them along her fingers. As his hand rasped against the door, she pushed her head back, making the double doors jiggle in response. They rattled against the wooden frame with her quivering shoulders until she leaned her head back forward, bringing her knees to her chest. What was there to talk about? He knew what he did. She knew what she did. Unless they could go back in time and take it back... There was no way out of it. No way out of the wrenching pain in her chest or the bruise she felt on the left side of her innards. She silently cried in place, suckling in air every so often so she could exhale it out in ragged breaths.

Letting go of her face, she finally dipped her head down into her knees, pushing her forehead against the tip. As long as she could just ball herself up in this one spot, sh-she'd be okay. Even if it was just for a little bit. The aching had begun once again, eyes stinging hot with fresh tears that drizzled and painted her face with a glossy after look. She wanted the smiles back. She wanted to relax on her husband like they had when they were first married. Before they dedicated themselves to work... When they were newlyweds and could just look at each other before emitting laughter when one questioned the other about it. Where she could just laugh and not have to think about what it was she was thinking about. When sex didn't feel like she was putting Finn on chore duty. Where she could see the smile split his face from ear to ear when she wore a sleazy outfit for him. But the longer she lingered on it, the harder she crunched herself forward and just... Sobbed. It wasn't loud like yesterday. There was nothing but an occasional, hard pull of air into her lungs as well as the release of letting it out. Where they could lay in bed because they wanted to lay down and cuddle... Or he could fall asleep while she dragged her nails gently up and down his back before fumbling through his hair. The smell of him could drive her mad. His touch could make her skin feel like someone had shocked her with a bolt of lightning. His smile could send shivers down her spine. Just his stare could send her heart on a psychotic fritz that wanted more.

Now... Now it was all torn to shreds while she tried to find any part of a ledge she could shuffle to before falling off.

Dinner? That was so far away. Why not breakfast? Well, she was planning on eating her candy now that she had some. She'd even sneak it if he wouldn't let her. Thinking about eating caused her stomach to grumble in hunger. A blush spread across her face as she buried her face into his chest to hide it. It didn't matter to her, she just wanted to eat something; now remembering that she didn't remember eating all of yesterday. She was starving!
