What is with people and mods? Mods for this mods for that... If it made the game better or more realistic, it'd be fine, but most are just for making people have an easier time.

Its not a cheat mod. Its an official mod from the company, they add new dungeons and a new houses for specific kinds of characters. Like a wizards tower, assassins lair, a fighter/knights castle, etc...

Mods have their place, such as for making new maps or adding new content that the creators couldn't get in by the deadline.

Considering I'm playing on my Xbox, I have no access to unofficial mods, though I win I did because then I'd have the Assassins Creed Mod, or I could mess with the coding of the game to make it do funny things.

That would cause problems. Mod is short for modification. Mods are typically made by the public to add a feature, some new maps, or just to plain cheat (which are called hacks). Though game makers will release mods sometimes to give people the opportunity to play a feature that was put in to the game due to time restraints.
