Gothyfox
It's my bithday !!!

Well, happy B-day! ^^

Oh and Lloxie, forget about the managers and focus on your work. Keep working hard and maybe you'll get to fill their shoes and run the place properly later on, who knows. ^.~

I'm not really hoping for manager position at McD's that much myself. I like working in the kitchen. It's a simple job with simple benefits, and the only stress I have to deal with is if the orders are met, end of the line.
Manager's position... I'd probably drive the place bankrupt or something. I just don't see myself managing a business, other than my art sooner or later.

@Crenn: Yeah, what Af said. sweatdrop Wal-Mart ain't disappearing anytime soon.

@Gothy: Woot! Happy b-day, Gothy! <^-^> *huggles*

@Doomie: Yeah, it'll be a long time before I have any chance at being a manager, seeing as how this is my first job and I just started and all. @.@; And anyway, I don't think that's for me. I don't really like being a boss of anyone. ^^;;

I've been doing okay at my job (since we're talking about jobs)...My managers seem very pleased with my work....at least, they keep telling me so. But they're also obsessed with asking me if I like working there. Honestly, it's just another job. Who LIKES going to work when it's just a temp job? Someday I'll have the job that I LOVE to wake up for and just can't wait to go to work and will volunteer overtime, but until I find said job, this one is just a filler, and not one that I can really rave about.

And yet the managers STILL keep asking me. One day I'll have to just cave and say I love it. I don't know what they're looking for...

They also keep asking me "If there was one thing you could change, what would it be...?" And when I tell them the few things that I absolutely detest about the job, they tell me that nothing can be done about that...Sheesh, just what ARE they looking for anyway???

Okay, I didn't mean to turn that into a rant....sorry bout that! sweatdrop

Happy Birthday, Gothy!

Warning: Long Rant.

Work sucked. So much. They put this kid Jon in charge of the front today. I don't even think he's a manager, maybe they're training him or something, I dunno. But anyway, whatever I did seemed to be all wrong to him.

When I was trying to keep things cleaned and stocked up, he lectured me about how I need to stay at a register. I never left the front counter unless there were several people there to handle if someone walked in while I was grabbing something from the back, and while I was cleaning I looked over periodically to check for customers.

When I was told to get off my break eleven minutes early to help, he yelled at me because to him I wasn’t moving fast enough. In reality, I was putting my things in the back, including my cell phone which I would have been in trouble for keeping on my person while clocked in. Additionally, I couldn’t clock back in from my break without the assistance of a manager’s card anyway, so I had to wait for him.

We were very busy and very understaffed tonight, no one could help anyone else because everything was crazy. Janine was on drive through and desperately needed help, but no one could help her. We just couldn't.

Jon seemed to feel I wasn’t doing my part though. He told me that I should have been helping poor Janine instead of working on my closing duties. I wasn’t even doing that, I was helping customers at the time and running around as busy as everyone else. But no, he made me feel like it was my fault she was upset. Now I was upset and actually startred crying.

Joe (very high-up manager of some kind) asked me what was wrong, I told him what Jon said to me and he told me that I was doing great and he'd talk to Jon. Jon much later appologized, though insincerely I assume since he pretty much spit out what Joe had said earlier. He told me he was just really stressed and took out some of it on me. Okay, fine. End of problem right? Nope! The fun continued!

While we were closing he just out of nowhere decided to ask why I had to have an attitude with everyone. I ignored him, not wanting to end up in a fight with him and continued with what I was working on. He wouldn’t let me ignore him, and finally I told him that I didn’t have an attitude with everyone. To this he responded that yes I did, listing people he “knew” had a problem with me. For your info, some people love me. I told him to stop, to leave me alone but he wasn’t satisfied yet, he continued talking. I lost my temper, tossing my rag at him and yelling about how no one had to worry anymore 'cause I was quitting. He seemed surprised, but at that point I just wanted to leave. I took off my apron, gathered my things and left. Ended up sobbing in my car for about 15min before driving home.

Manda, do you like your job?
Because while my job at McD's might be temporary as I get well-settled enough over the years to live off my art or get a better job, it's also important to note that I like the job. I really do. When the alarm goes off in the morning, I get up and get ready to go to work, and I enjoy my time there. Yes, it's work, yes it's tiring, but I like to do it, for various different reasons, among it helping me get in charge of myself, learning new things and just the fun of swapping patties on a giant barbecue.
Sure, I get a paycheck out of it, but if the paycheck is the only reason someone works, then it makes things so much more boring and dull.

Wanna know a fun fact?
The McDonald's I'm currently working at is the first McD's I went to in my life. My mom has pictures of her bringing me there in the push-carriage and posing with the old mascots we don't really see anymore, like the Hamburglar and that big purple guy. XD

My mom made me write it all down and says I could take legal actiona against him for harassment. All I want is to not go back....but I can't do that. It's my first job and in order to use it as a reference I'll need to file my two weeks notice before quitting...

I just spent most of the day at my sister's marching band competition. I wasn't overly impressed. I'm not blaming the kids, but whoever picked the music and show, picked a rather boring one. The music they picked seemed more like something a concert band or orchestra would play..Not something that seemed to fit a marching band. It may be just my opinion or something, but I believe the music a marching band should use is stuff that gets you pumped and wows you. I'm not expert or anything, but the bands who blow you out of your seat seem to be the ones who win.

But I must support my sister even if the guy who put the show together picked a boring one.

They got fifith place at this competition and they still need work.

GRIMACE!

It's hard to say if I like my job or not....Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. I like the people I work with fine, and it's not like the work is really difficult. And the time goes by fairly quickly while I'm at work. I thought a full-time job would be far more stressful than this, but it's really not. I get my two days off a week, and really....that's fine.

BUT when I'm there I still just can't wait to leave. Just so I can come home and sit on my comptuter....? What's wrong with me? I thought moving to Florida would help me feel better about my life, not bored about it... sweatdrop

I just thought I would tell everyone about my day with sheol today. We met at the pioneer courthouse square and stat and talked for a while in starbucks while we waited for my boyfriend to show up. After my mate showed, we decited to try and head to the saturday market, which was sadly closed. We then decited to go and play some pool at PSU for a while. We had fun loosing to my boyfriend and trying to shove the pool sticks up his butt in order to try and mess him up. After we started to get hungry, we went to hotlips pizza and talked for a couple of hours. She should be moving to my place in a couple of days.

It's good to hear things are looking up for Sheol, and hopefully you two sharing rent for the place should also help make money problems slightly easier on you, ne? Ah well, give my best wishes to Sheol for me if she can't see this/read this before I'm gone for another week.

Yay! I'm glad you stood up for yourself. Man I want to give that guy a major talking too. I probably would have snapped a lot sooner than you, and demanded to talk in the guy in charge of the little snot nosed brat. Nothing worse than someone treating another person like s**t just because they are a little higher up in the management. stare
