"Ah, I finally found it you guys!" Rai shouted to Hank and Aqua. A bark and a squeal were his answers. Clinging to his shoulder, Hank hung his tongue out to the side, a smile showing from ear to ear. Aqua wasn't as thrilled. He had frozen his feet to the Hoverboard with a solid Icebeam when they had rode away from the Goldenrod Pokemon Center and had simply clung to Rai's leg for the whole journey. Rai steered the board up to the entrance. " Whoever chose Mt. Silver was a genius!" Rai told his pokemon as Hank and Aqua tried to get Aqua free from his own safety precaution. Rai walked inside and got a transmission. Olivine....Maybe we can get in there once we've done a little training. Maybe an Evolution and some new pals. Sighing, Rai headed to the Main area for some R & R and maybe some conversation. Hank hopped up to his perch on Rai's head, Aqua to his on Rai's left shoulder. I guess I'm starting a new life from here on out. Maybe I can find a mentor...

Blizzard120 Freth followed me off to the med lab where I foud Tristen, Doc, and Tails at. "Hey Guys." I said. "Blizz, wait. Articuno?" "RRRmmm." The bird replied. "You all want one?" I asked. "Cookies?" Doc spoke up. Tails got to his feet, brushing off his knees. He thought he'd smelled something sweet on a frosty wind. "What kinda cookies?" he asked.

I said, holding it out for Tails and Tristen to take. "I do see chocolate chip ones in there. Possibly gingerbread." I said. "Take a try or two. Plenty for everyone." I said to him.

Tails, as expected, took a chocolate chip cookie first. He knew from the first bite that this wasn't packaged, even if it was chilly from the travel. "Mmm. Where are they from?"

Trigramatic Tails, as expected, took a chocolate chip cookie first. He knew from the first bite that this wasn't packaged, even if it was chilly from the travel. "Mmm. Where are they from?" "Miles. Maybe his wife. Came back with a letter, actually." I said. "The reason why Articuno is back actually." I said. "What did Miles say, by chance?" Doc asked. "I haven't actually read it yet." I said, sitting down next to Tails, then opened up the letter to read.

"Oooh. I'll warm them up for us, okay?" said Tails, and he took the cookies to a table in the med lab.
Dear Blizzard, began the letter, as always. This line, however, seemed faded by weeks of exposure.
I understand this letter has been a long time in coming, but do not worry. If rumors have abound of my death, they are greatly exaggerated. There were some...troubles here in Hyda for some weeks, and I'm sure you might have felt a few disturbances in the air. It's a long story, but things are back to some sense of normalcy. Perhaps my only loss lays in that I won't have the peaceful life I've dreamed of for quite awhile.
And it may hap that a spar between us won't be fair again for some few hundred more years.
But I am fine, Nadine is fine, and Mikey is fine. The city is under new management, but the power structure is mostly the same. Thankfully, I am not a part of it.
I must apologise to the dear Articuno. He'd have found my old house burnt to the ground. I live downtown now, chiefly by suggestion of the Dragon community. A goodwill gesture, I suppose. I don't often have the time to join them in their gatherings, but I'm sure you recall that Mikey's crush is by blood a dragon.
I've already had him detoxed for mercury poisoning once. That in itself is a strange tale, and one with which I deeply sympathise.
It's more often that Nadine joins me on my patrols; this is one of my terms with regards to a favor owed to Kitsune. I still would rather that it be the role of someone else to vanquish things that have sneaked into places they shouldn't be, but circumstances suggest that I am best fit for the job. You don't need to worry about me or my own. We're better equipped to handle fell surprises now, and I know you've got your own turmoils to contest.
Mikey says he'd love to go to visit you sometime. Alexandria's family will be on holiday soon, so he'll be bored stiff. Mammal-Dragon relationships are taboo, and the clan is a little cold to him when Alex isn't around. And Nadine would like to have a girls' night out with Freth, Night, and whomever else have joined your ranks by now.
It might be wise I truncate this letter before it turns into a missive. I'm worried Articuno will find it strain enough to get our little Christmas bundle to you. Nadine, Alex, Mikey and I have all rather turned the kitchen into a cookie factory. We've got many more bundles to send, to each corner of the region. It's a strange pleasure to spread Xmas cheer like this.
And a happy Xmas to you, Blizzard, Freth, Tristen and Tails and to anyone else reading this.
It was signed by Miles, Nadine and Mikey in turn, and there was a hint of a smudge of fudge on the bottom edge. But there was a little more...
P.S.: I promise, letters will get to me much more quickly next time. Having an air mail permit helps.

Having an air mail permit helps.Well, I had to admit, it was a joy to hear from Miles by letter or what have you. Though, its funny...Miles predestined to really patrol things around Hyda and such. Though it left some implications. I already knew that Miles was far ahead of me, at least as far as Chi is concerned. Brute strength, though, I had him beat easily, as many would attest, but, despite having THAT edge, I still couldn't beat him in the long run. There would have been no telling on when I could have been on par with him all-round. That said...he implied that it would now take longer now? And a favor for Kitsune...something really must have happened, especially if Articuno had to go out of his way to find Miles. It made me wonder on what just happened...I wouldn't press into it all that much. He's right...I too have my own concerns to be dealt with on my end as well. "Heh...just like him." I said. "What's that?" Tristen asked. "Miles gets me into a position where I end up asking more questions to get answers for. Its like he's teasing me." I said. "It took you THAT long to figure it out?" Doc asked. "Hey..." I said.

"Anyways, it might do you some good to know, all." I said.
"What's that?" Tristen asked, looking at me curiously as he started to bite down onto a gingerbread cookie. Too good.
"There may be a chance that we might be seeing Mikey here soon. Maybe Miles and Nadine...don't know. He wasn't quite clear. Apparently Mikey's puppy crush is going away on a holiday vacation soon, according to this, and given that she will be out, Mikey is expected to be bored sick." I said. "For that matter...hey, Freth?"
"Yea?" She spoke up as she grabbed a cookie for herself.
"Apparently Nadine is up for a girls night out with you and any other female here." I said.
"God, haven't had one of those in some time." She said. "...though its going to be one hell of a time if Night does get in on it, for instance." She said.
"Alcohol will be involved, I'm sure." I said.
"That should go without saying."

Tails squeed over the possibility. Mikey with no Alex meant very happy times indeed. And, most likely, one or more of them running about starkers. Among other such fun things. "You gotta write back as soon as you can, Blizz," he said. "And I can help Tristen read the letter. If Miles wrote it, I bet he's more formal than he needs to be."

I said to him, handing over the letter to Tails. "And I'll get back to him here after a while. Give Articuno a bit of a break. He did fly all the way in from Hyda after all." "Arrrrriiii." The bird spoke. "Though it leaves me to wonder..." I checked the letter. No date given, but the ink...kind of shows he's been on and off with this letter. "When did he finally get around to sending this, and for that matter...say Articuno, how long DOES it take you to get from here to Hyda?" I asked. "Arrrrriii." The bird spoke. "Not too bad...and I suppose you get faster on every trip, knowing where you got to go?" "Arrri." "Oh."

"Oooh, yeah. Sorry, Articuno," said Tails. He rolled up the letter and as he passed Tristen, tapped him on the shoulder with it. "C'mon, we can steal the couch or something. Unless you're not done with the Doctor yet."

"Just be careful not to overwork yourself and your Pokemon, okay?" "Okay." Tristen said, putting his vest back on. He then slid off the bed then looked back at Tails. "Come on, Tails." he said.

Grinning wide, Tails led the way for Tristen, and he would claim that couch closest to the fireplace, the others be damned. They'd just have to settle for cookies.
"So Tristen," he said. "How much do you remember about Mikey?"

"Even though it wasn't that long ago that we helped him to get his dad back, I never really got to know him too well." He told him.
